Super fun to go but even better with a big group! They also give chips with your drink! Delicious sangria!

Me gusta tomar café con leche en la terraza de este bar. No es nada de otro mundo pero tiene algo. La camarera rubia siempre muy amable. Tienen prensa del día y el café es muy bueno. Para tomar birras por la noche también va muy bien, el ambiente dentro es agradable.

While I was spending a semester in Barcelona this bar quickly became the go-​to spot for my friends and I. Compared to the rest of the bars in the city this place is reasonably priced, the drinks are strong and HUGE. By huge I mean you can literally fit your entire head in the glasses they come in.
When it gets crowded here, it can be a little bit uncomfortable if you’re claustrophobic, but it’s Europe so what do you expect? They also allow smoking indoors which for Americans can be kind of annoying. I found myself having to step outside in intervals because I couldn’t breathe, but you’re likely to encounter this problem at most bars in Barcelona so there’s that. If you’re picturing this being a bar full of American study abroad kids, that’s only half true. Every time I came here it was a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ split between young locals and American students.
This place is good for groups due to the drinks being so big and share-​able. The bartenders will give you a whole bunch of straws so that you and your buddies can share and make complete fools of yourself while taking Instagram and Facebook pics that you’ll likely regret and eventually delete. If you’re not into sharing drinks or getting too smashed they also have regular sized drinks and they serve Vol Damm and Estrella in bottles.

So this was the bar at the corner of my block where I lived for 2 years.
I only started going there just as I was preparing for my move back to the States.
Why? I don’t really know. The drinks are good and cheap — especially during happy hour. And they pour them strong!
Maybe I never went here because none of my friends lived in the area, and this wasn’t quite the place to go to alone. This isn’t the ‘hippest’ neighborhood… But when my friends would complain about how things were too expensive where I lived, I’d shut their arguments down by simply mentioning this place by name… Pippermint.

You can also order huge, 10 Liter mixed drinks, but that seemed just way to dangerous.
A group of us made it out here one night and it was worth the trip. It is far for most kids studying abroad in the heart of the city, but what is difficult is worthwhile… Picture 8+ friends sipping straws out of a goblet the size of Spain.
Great place to pre-​party before the clubs, and I believe it was only about 100Euros for each cocktail. Just another amazing place in Barca

Mítico bar de la zona alta de Barcelona que acaba de cumplir 50 años. Es un local acogedor y recuerda al típico pub de pueblo costero donde ir a beber antes de ir a la discoteca. Pensado para empezar la fiesta e ir con tu grupo de amigos ya que puedes adquirir enormes jarras de cerveza o copas de 6 a 13 litros servidos con enormes cañitas para que todo los amigos bebáis a la vez. Lo malo es que como no te des prisa te puedes quedar sin cubatazo ya que siempre hay uno que bebe más que los otros (yo soy la típica que se queda sin a la primera de cambio). Estás al lado de una de las zonas con más garitos y pubs de la zona alta de Barcelona. Si te gusta la música electrónica, puedes aprovechar para ir a la sala BeCool que está a tan sólo unos pasos.

Pippermint is a bar known for its enooormous drinks. The glasses of beer run as large as a sack of potatoes, so its definitely a place to share. They also have enormous mixed drinks which you can get in an extra-​oversized stemmed glass. Its a really great gimmick, but aside from that it doesn’t have the most social feel to it… not much dancing or socializing between tables. Perhaps a good pregame? Also, its a little difficult to get to.

Agobiante
No hay nada peor en un local que sentirse como una sardina enlatada. Si redujesen el aforo a una tercera parte tal vez se podría respirar y hasta sería agradable pensar si me tomo el clásico tubito de cerveza o si cogemos una copita de 15 litros para todos.

Cerveza!!!
Es un local con clientela muy pija y demasiada gente, pero si consigues una mesa te lo puedes pasar bien. Sobretodo si puedes pagar una copa de cerveza de 13 litros para ti y tus amigos, pero si tardas mucho, los que esperan para sentarse empiezan a agobiar.
