Racó de la Vila

Had a long lunch here upon arriving in Barcelona and was very pleased with the food and service! We got a table on the second floor. The first floor is pretty cool with jamon on display and hanging on the wall. We tried the acorn fed jamon with pineapple (have to try this in Barcelona), assorted sausages plate, Catalan soup, Catalan bread (they do charge extra for this and don’t tell you beforehand but I am still thinking about this bread and the delicious garlic sauce it came with days later), and vegetable paella. There are several amazing looking desserts on display but we already ordered too much for our main meal so didn’t sample any desserts. Our waiter was very nice and spoke English well. After we left, we were looking for a cab outside when another waiter saw us and helped us call a cab!
A tip is that our meal took over 2 hours (the paella was last to come out) so make sure you have enough time to spare before coming here. There is also good wifi on the second floor.

My husband and I ate here twice during our recent trip to Barcelona. The experience here is amazing and both times we went here we ordered the seafood paella. Also, all other entrees are just as good since I tried the Oxtail and Veal. The Cava Sangria pitcher is more than enough for two people and with so many sweets for options at the end of your meal. We ended up getting dessert on the house because it was our anniversary which made the experience even better. Make reservations for this place because it can get busy! Service is fabulous with a very friendly staff.

We had an early dinner here our first evening in Barcelona. The good thing was that it doesn’t close in the afternoon like many establishments so we could eat when we were hungry and didn’t have to wait till 8:30 in the night. The staff was nice and accommodating. As for the food, we found it to be just average. We ordered the spaghetti with wild shrimp in the starter section. The plate came with only four small shrimps! We felt that this was a bit of a rip-​off. We also ordered the tuna with the vegetables. The tuna was grilled nicely but the vegetables were lacking flavor. W also got the grilled chicken. This was similar to BBQ style. Again, the flavor was lacking. The best part was the olives and bread with garlic sauce brought in the beginning. We also ordered a crime brûlée for dessert but have had much better at Italian restaurants in the US.

We were on vacation last week they were very accommodating and the food was delicious and prepared perfectly. Steak in the glass near door was not on the menu but my husband ordered and we cooked at table with stone and salt, they brought new stone when that one got cool… we shared the steak… all delicious, veal stew dish was fantastic… and the desserts were just right… no hurry and open late which we needed after a day of sightseeing… definetly go if in the area. worth the money…

El Racó de la Vila est un restaurant dans la pure tradition catalane. Dans un cadre assez kitch, ce restaurant a le vrai mérite de vous accueillir comme à la maison.
Ils ont su jouer sur la proximité de la méditerranée pour proposer des poissons et crustacées de bonne facture préparés selon des recettes catalanes typiques. Le poisson entier cuit au four n’est pas oublié, il est ensuite découpé en filets à la demande.
Les petites attentions sont là: une petite sangria pour commencer, un petit limoncello pour finir. Toujours très appréciable
Si vous séjournez dans le coin et que vous né souhaitez pas traverser Barcelone pour aller diner et si vous souhaitez échapper aux pièges à touristes, passez une tête chez El Racó de la Vila.

We ate here on our first night in Barcelona and it was delicious! We missed lunch that day and tried the tomato bread, lobster rice, roasted vegetables, Catalan chicken and ox tails. Everything was amazing!

Cocina muy variada y con grandes platos. Desde el arroz con bogavante hasta la carne (cochinillo, cordero, chuleton a la piedra…).

Empfehlung von Hotel hat sich gelohnt — einfaches Essen mit guter Qualität. Das Tomatenbrot auf jeden Fall probieren! Ein Abzug gibt es für den sportlichen Preis — schon teuer für Location und Angebot.

Fantastic night out at a very nice restaurant near my hotel and recommended by the hotel staff. Excellent seafood Paella and Grilled Steak, followed by Tiramisu’ and Coca de Llavaneres desserts. The latter dessert is a thin, pastry puff filled with a custand cream and topped with pine nuts; Delicious!
The restaurant is clean, elegant and has a polite and friendly wait staff. A complimentary tapas of toasted bread with tomato and a plate of fried sardines was a great start along with a small pitcher of Cava Sangria. This might be an out of the way place for most visitors staying centrally in Barcelona unless you know what bus (or even the Touristic Bus) will take you within a few blocks of this restaurant.

Restaurant parfais,
Accueil très chaleureux, serveurs aux petits soins, carte en français, anglais et espagnol, service voiturier avec parking accolé.
Le cadre est magnifique.
Et bien sur on y mange très bien, les spécialités sont délicieuses, les plats originaux, les ingrédients sont de qualités, les quantités plus que suffisantes
Bref une adresse incontournable pour tous les amateurs de gastronomie.
Vous né pouvez pas partir de Barcelone sans avoir mangé au moins une fois là bas.

Good home made food with a touch of quality. Located in an area with nothing much around, went there recommended by our hotel staff and the food was really good.
Waiters were all nice except one fat one which was an idiot and completely rude. I am Portuguese so I do understand what he was saying next to us…
Lamb leg was just amazing and deserts were also good.
Not cheap but also not overly expensive.

Tolles Ambiente in dem Restaurant, das auf vier Räume aufgeteilt ist. Der Service ist äußerst zuvorkommend und professionell. Der Gruß aus der Küche war gebackener Weichkäse und Weißbrot mit Allioli. Erlesene Weine zu vernünftigen Preisen. Alle Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte von uns acht Personen waren sehr gut. Alles war frisch zubereitet und es wurden nur qualitativ hochwertige Zutaten verwendet. Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall hier rauszufahren.

Die Entdeckung schlechthin. Essen ist spitzenmässig zu wirklich annehmbaren Preisen. Waren gleich zwei Abende dort. Aufmerksamer Service Gegrillte Kalamari vom Grill für 14, — Euro Wer in der Gegend ist, kann hier keinen. Fehler machen.

Típico bar de barrio con menú diario. Tienen terraza ideal para tomar el café del mediodía si trabajas cerca.

Si tus padres son más bien chapados a la antigua, asegurarás la sonrisa si les llevas a comer a El Racó de la Vila. A mí siempre me funciona. Se trata de un restaurante de estilo rústico situado en una casa centenaria del popular barrio del Poblenou. El lugar es muy acogedor y disponen de muchos salones, con lo que es fácil poder contar con un espacio propio si la familia es numerosa. La carta está repleta de platos tradicionales (de los de la abuela), riquísimos, con productos frescos de gran calidad, y cuentan con una carta de vinos extensísima. Ciertamente se me ocurren pocos lugares mejores para celebraciones…
