Great atmosphere, small place but full of energy
Definitely worth every minute spent here

Really like this place, happy hour is super cheap and the drinks are really good. Mojitos for less than 3 €. Love it!

I am a young female who was attacked by one of the security people/​bouncers.
Do not go to Sugar!
I went here with some friends and at the end of the night the manager/​bartender was talking to me and my girlfriend and the bouncer starts screaming at the manager something in Spanish and the manager says to us” He’s a dick don’t worry about it”. My friend and I both don’t say anything to this bouncer and go to leave because it was uncomfortable. Beside the exit the bouncer pushes me into my friend and then grabs my arms from behind me. I attempt to get away so he forcefully throws me to the ground.
There is quite a few witnesses so it starts a small brawl. The manager sees everything that happens and comes out and tells everyone to leave the area because of noise and disregards the fact that his employee was abusive and was not remorseful but more concerned about his ego and bars reputation.
I now have a hand mark on my shoulder and bruises on my legs and moreover disgusted and still shaken up about the situation. Both these men apparently believe attacking a woman from behind makes them powerful. No one should be treated this way.

Had an amazing day/​evening at this bar situated just off the Rambla. You would be hard pressed to find this by mistake, we only did as we were looking for something a bit cheaper and off the beaten track. Initially (4pm) we were the only people in there, but the great music (Television’s Marquee Moon was playing as we walked in) and friendly staff coupled with keen happy hour pricing encouraged us to stay. Then the World Cup Final happened, and a mixture of German and British flooded in. White Russians and € 1.50 beers kept flowing. Then the street party on the Rambla afterwards was immense… Highly recommended.

That’s a cool bar. It has terrible drinks/​shots! Beside that it’s a real dive bar with cool music and cool people. They play mainly rock and they appear to like the red hot chili peppers: Drink the «red hot chili» shot! As said: It’s terrible, but we had a lot of fun there!

What I can add is if I’m there and it’s open… then I’m there.

C’est le bar que j’ai le plus apprécié à Barcelone ! Un endroit un peu roots, sans prise de tête, déco originale et cosy, musique agréable selon les soirs (salsa, world music, medley et remixes de variété et/​ou techno connue…). Bön, les consos né sont pas extraordinaires, mais à 2.80 € le mojito, c’est pas mal ! On y va surtout pour l’ambiance, les gens qui échangent facilement et les serveurs toujours motivés et souriants !
Le seul point négatif est l’aspect plutôt sale: sol et tables très collants, odeur de vomi en fond…
Une cinquième étoile quand ça aura disparu !

This place is legit, right down to the old skool rap beats they play from the owners MacBook. It’s tiny but try to squeeze a seat at the bar and chat up the owner (an Aussie I think)

I’m a big fan of Sugar. Well-​hidden, small, intimate, a good hideout from the hubbub of Gótic (with all the riffraff of Les Rambles, life can get overwhelming!). This place is lit low, tight, and filled with interesting people. Perhaps best of all, their drinks are stiff! If you’re in the area and ready for a full-​on party, this is a place to be! I once went with a couple of friends for a drink or two, and man did we leave, well, lubricated! Sugar is fun, and I recommend the strawberry mojitos!

My favorite bar in Barcelona. Amazing servers and incredible cocktails. The vibe is friendly and the crowd is always ready to share a few shots.
