I really don’t know why this On Tap is such a disaster compared to the other locations. The staff is attentive but far from friendly. I couldn’t recommend a single thing to eat here especially not any of the fried food. Pretty sure they raised all their beer prices and shortened all their hours. They have a piece of paper taped to the outside patio with new hours and God forbid you miss it and come in anyways and they turn off every TV and half the lights while you’re still in there! There was probably 6 tables in there willing to spend more money! If the message they were sending was get out and don’t back – consider it received! Considering there are probably 30+ burger/bar places in Akron we have no reason to ever come back.

Saw the previous reviews and was hesitant when some classmates suggested we meet there based on location. Walked in and went to the bar. Took a while to get served even thou only 4 people at the bar. Guess I didn’t want to interrupt the bar keeps visit time with one of the regulars. So, this seemed like the reviews were spot on. Then, my group arrived and we went off to a side area. This is where one person can make a difference. Ruby, our server was Terrific! Went over the menu. Offered insight on flavor and sizes. She kept 11 people well taken care of. Food was good bar food. Loaded fries were huge and good. Salads were huge as well. All came out on time and hot. Well done, Ruby. Ask for her.

My coworkers and I lunched at the Montrose location and were very disappointed. A favorite on the menu(Greek Nachos) has since been removed. When asked if they could be made, we were advised that it was not an option even though the restaurant had all of the ingredients and could have made them. In place of the nachos, the Greek salad was ordered with extra pita on the side(and charged twice as much with less ingredients) and we made it ourselves. –Disgruntled Consumer

I want to update everyone, as The Manager did call my sister and met with a few of us to apologize to her. And the apology was accepted, someone questioned why we had not updated yet… I want to let you know that my sister did not get an apology or call back after her initial complaint as promised until she went to social media… after my sisters story went viral on facebook, THEN she received her callback. So although we are being kind in this matter, let’s not go too far with the media driven apology. Thank you for your comments

Horrible terrible customer service. Food sucks. Do not patronize this particular on tap location. Find another location or visit somewhere else where the employees are not moody and rude. Eating out should be a nice experience, not a nightmare. Thanks.

On Tap has a few different locations. I’ve only ever been to this one in Montrose and the old one in Medina. As a younger kid I loved going there for burgers because they were huge(then). My favorite was the«Italian» one with marinara and provolone. Sadly they’ve removed that burger as of a few years ago. On Tap isn’t the worst place for lunch, but the service is iffy. Also, the couple times I’ve had drinks there they’ve sucked. Stick to beer. What we like is the daily lunch specials — particularly the Tuesday chicken sandwich special. I don’t think those in charge own a computer. they may want to name check their breaded buffalo chicken sandwich — named the BBC. Try not to Google it, readers.

This isn’t going to be a long review because I am embarrassed I even ate what I ate. Just had a real craving for some nachos and apparently all they have are«Greek Nachos.» Took a chance. What a mistake. A huge bed of old shredded lettuce with a teaspoon of feta and tzatziki. This is hiding the mounds of olives, tomatoes and banana peppers. I know this sounds kind of appetizing, but it’s all lukewarm too. And under alllllll of this, deep fried pita chips-what? I ate all the chips, my friend ate the tomatoes. With each bite I announced, «this is the worst thing I’ve ever eaten.» My frugalness is what made me eat SOME of it. So if you go… if you must go… DONOTGETTHEGREEKNACHOS.

Best things I had at this place, zucchini appetizer & Fat Head IPA. The funny thing was I asked what IPAs they had & the bartender said Two Hearted, period. I noticed the Fat Head tap handle & she said«oh, that’s a IPA? » Funny. but still overall nice experience.

AVOIDIT. The service and meal were both absolutely horrible. It took two hours to get our food, and there was barely anyone in the entire restaurant. It was crazy! We ordered drinks that never came. We ordered food that came out completely wrong and cold. It’s very unfortunate because they have a beautiful patio. Save your time and money by going over to the Winking Lizard — right across the street.

I’ve been to On Tap a few times now. The food and drink prices are average, the service is spotty and the restaurant always seems to look kind of dirty. It’s not a bad place to go on occasion to grab a drink or two but it’s definitely not my first or even second choice of bars/restaurants to go in Fairlawn. One positive about the place is that they do have a nice outside patio area which was recently renovated in 2013.

How about a review from somebody from the area? I grew up about two miles from this place, and IMHO this is the best bar in the area(I am aware that is not saying much). David B’s is an old man crowd, Brubakers doesn’t have much going on, and well, that’s it! The food is hit or miss(the greek salad is good!) but the drinks are cheap and they always seem to have karaōke. This is NOT a place for the pretentious, but if you find yourself in the montrose area and want to get drunk, talk to some locals, and sing in front of a non-judgmental crowd, you will have a great time!

I had been here for lunch a couple times before and the food was just ok. It never impressed me. Today I went in and the male bartender/manager knew we couldn’t be there long bc we had places to be. We ordered and received our food in a timely manner and right before I touched my sandwich, there was a LONGBROWNHAIR in it. I knew it wasn’t mine because I was wearing a hat. He brought me a new sandwich 10 minutes later. He did not comp any percentage of the sandwich nor was I apologized to. As a bar manager myself, I was sickened and appalled by the way he manages his bar. I WILLNEVERBEBACKAGAIN!!!

Didn’t have the food, but the $ 4 miller light at happy hour was huge and delicious, service was good. Nothing special, but a good place to hang out.

Two stars is pretty generous — and it’s only because I had a good meal here once. FI’d rank this as a pub of questionable quality and cleanliness. They have a solid beer selection and some tasty wing ideas, but unless I’m looking to leave and go straight for a tetanus shot, I’ll steer clear.

Eh, not so great. The chili was good but there was a heaping cup of what tasted like dill-flavored sour cream on top. Weird. The cottage cheese was good but it’s pretty damn hard to mess up cottage cheese(open container, put in bowl). Skip this place.

Clarification: 2 ½ stars On Tap is a super generic bar and grill in a strip center in Akron/Fairlawn/Montrose or some such. I am not from Akron or Ohio so the blurry borders where«city» and suburb intermingle was a little strange for me. Which do you want first, the good or the bad? Ok let’s start with the positives so we can build our self esteem a little. Mmk? So our server, Heather, was awesome. She was very sweet, prompt, had a great suggestion on beer, didn’t scoff when we asked for our salad to be split, made friendly conversation, and gave tips on what to do in NE Ohio. *5 stars for Heather* Another positive was that they serve Great Lakes Brewing Co Beer, which was great to try a local brew as an out-of-towner. We ordered some hot artichoke dip(which itself was meh at best) that came with fried pita wedges. Something about tossing some sliced pita into a deep fat fryer was absolutely genius to me. To be clear, these were not pita chips, but fried pita wedges. The negatives are pretty much everything else. Our raspberry salad was a train wreck of iceberg and high fructose corn syrup disguised as dressing. The prices were not great for the quality at all. We sat on the patio with people I’m sure were not the faces Akronites? Akronions? want to put forward to guests. Yipes. I must say that the crowd got younger and more attractive later in the night. On Tap is a fine place to get a beer and something deep fried, but that is about it.
