The thought of having gelato on a cold day in Albuquerque or any wintery cold place seems odd to me… but Frost Gelato is so good, I would eat it at the South Pole! The selection of flavors is impressive… as are the visual presentations. The display cases feature each flavor as a true visual work of art… almost too beautiful to eat. The staff is super friendly and offers what seems like unlimited tasting. This was a problem for me because I really liked everything I tried. Though everything was a hit with our party, the hazelnut was one of our favorites.

Bottom line the best yogurt/ice cream/gelato place ive ever been too. The best thing is the wide variety of flavors. Seriously… where else can you find the flavors of egg nog and biscochito? By the way both are great. My five year old daughter loves it too! For around $ 8 we can each get a small… can’t beat that!

On a warm day in Albuquerque I stumbled upon this gem. They have an incredible amount of flavors to offer, the only problem with that is… the samples get way out of hand when the line is long. I had a family in front of me, 5 of them, who had to sample the entire line. It was ridiculous. I honestly feel like that’s the only thing preventing me from coming back. Samples should have to be limited to say 3 – 4 per person, not 10 – 12 like these people wanted. I had to wait about 20 minutes just to get my gelato. I’m glad this place is thriving, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the gelato is good. I hope they can find a way to fix the sample problem though, really. If it was a busy day with a line, I couldn’t imagine what hell that would be.

For a town that gets pretty darn hot, ABQ has a big gap in the ice cream/gelato/froyo department. Luckily I’m not too far from Frost, which is the best dairy-based dessert option south of Santa Fe. Recent favorites — the Blackberry Cabernet sorbet and the Cinnamon(seasonal). On a Friday or Saturday the line will be out the door, but don’t fret, it moves quickly. While you wait you’ll be annoyed by the guy in line behind you who keeps leaning over to get a better look at the Stracciatella or Salted Caramel. Don’t be mean — you were that guy too(30 seconds ago). You’ll get impatient with the lady in front of you who wants to try 15 flavors before settling on plain ol’ vanilla. Don’t get frustrated — you’ll be that lady too(in 30 seconds). Relax. Grab a spoon. Enjoy.

Frost Gelato, Albuquerque, NM– This is an absolutely amazing gelato shop located in the heart of ABQ uptown! My husband and I have been here twice now, and we will keep going when we are nearby! We have tried several flavors, since they let you sample, and all of them have been delicious. It was both of our first times ever having gelato, but it’s damn good! The line has been crazy long each time we went, always a good sign of course, but it moves quickly and the service is awesome. Just to update, we have been here probably 3 or 4 more times now, and it has still been amazing and busy every time! I love that they have so many awesome flavors, some of which are seasonal. You can choose your sizes, and mix and match gelato. This is by far more healthy than ice cream, and I’m pretty sure we say it’s far tastier too. Love it!

YUM! Because of this place, I fell in love with NM during my first time. The plaza/shopping center is great btw. The store is well lit, all white, and clean making the experience just nice. There are sooo many flavors, but also not THAT many that is unbearable. They are also split in 3 — traditional, sweet, and fruity. I think. It seemed like that. So it made it easy also. Fun, beautifully arranged gelato. I split a small strawberry champagne with my dad. Refreshing! We also got a cup of coffee which was so nice and strong! Complimented the ice cream well. I wanna come back!

My second time here and I again enjoyed the rather perfect green tea gelato. What can I say? I like a plain flavor for my creamy iced treats. I tried a bit of a friend’s almond gelato and it was also delicious. I can’t make this a regular spot just because I can’t work off all the sugar, but it’s very, very authentic gelato and very good!

We were visiting the uptown mall, did some shopping and were sitting down for the live music when we noted this store. Was a perfect addition to the evening! Great location and awesome gelatos. I tried the rum and raisin and it was the best I’ve had. Certainly going to revisit and try more…

I love Frost. I was so nervous about finding a great gelato place since moving here. I go here every chance I get, I also love that they give military a free treat. I am a huge fam of the sorbet since Iam lactose and can do a lot of dairy. They have a ton of flavors to choose from, you cant go wrong. The staff is friendly environment is always clean.

Gelato? Check. Multiple flavors? Check. Frozen goodness? Check. What’s to say about Frost? It has delicious gelato with so many flavors to choose from. The one down side, some favorite flavors are only seasonal, so it will go away, but hopefully come back.

I love gelato in a bad way. I hear it’s just iced milk and not iced cream… but there is something so delectable about the texture that I cannot stop thinking about. Luckily it’s relatively low in calories. And Frost definitely doesn’t TASTE low calorie, even though it is. It tastes like creamy, sugary, flavorful heaven in a cup. They are generous and patient when I wanted to sample probably six different types of gelato.(note: there are like 30+ flavors) and talked to me about the size differences. Meaning, a single flavor in a small, two in a medium and three in a large. And they aren’t all mixed together(I was very hesitant to add multiple flavors next to my favorite chocolate hazelnut). They sort of wedge them in together but they aren’t blended. Sugary creamy magic, I say. Magic with a cookie on top.(Or is that supposed to be a cherry?)

Frost Gelato. Who doesn’t like eye candy? I like eye candy. You know what else I like? Eye candy I can taste: D The store is clean, well designed, sleekly decorated, and staffed by helpful employees. The gelato cases brought giddy feelings reminiscent of a girlhood crush as I imagined what each aesthetically presented concoction tasted like. Did the coconut taste like coconut? Did the snozz berries taste like snozz berries? What about the mint? Only I didn’t have to imagine, I got to taste them. I’m sure eventually, I will taste them all and savor each drop. And you can too. You know what else? You can get a pint to go. I settled on dark chocolate and sea salt caramel. But the Bellini flavored sorbet is next on my hit list– I got my eye on you, Bellini look out.

I was in ABQ, and it was hot. Apparently my blood has thickened since moving to Seattle and ABQ makes me melt. Anyway, I needed something cold stat! I was wandering around Uptown, waiting on my Apple appointment for my computer, when what should my melting heart stumble across? Gelato! Who could say no under the circumstances? I walked in, I immediately felt cooler by 20 degrees… They might have had air conditioning, but I digress. I walked in and was confronted with friendly staff and a lot of flavor choices. I was with my best friend, and I liked everything I tasted. So did she. Go get a Gelato! What are you waiting for, I know it’s hot there!

Dude, seriously, this gelato is so crazy good it’s ridiculous. I can’t believe all the flavors. Sorbetto too if you’re into the fruit thing. All natural unlike disgusting chemical filled froyo places. Even a small is very filling & satisfying. Go. Now.

Limoncello + mint chocolate = a winning combination. This place was packed so I really didn’t have much of an opportunity to sample or look over all the wonderful options. Even though the small looks like it won’t be enough — ITIS! However, if you want more than one flavor you have to purchase at least a medium. Solution to this is you get one flavor and your pal gets another and just share. Prices are comparable to big chain ice cream joints. But remember gelato has less fat! It is small inside and seating is limited. This will not deter more trips to Frost. Assolutamente Delizioso !!!

ABQ does not have a ton of gelato places that I’m aware of, so Frost is a welcome addition. It’s not ice cream and it’s not frozen yogurt, but a distinct treat similar to both. The start out for gelato are the flavors — super intense and rich. The dark chocolate is very dark and delicious, the blackberry cabernet is tart and full of real fruit and the coconut is light and sweet and flavorful. Get a medium and get two flavors side-by-side, along with a little rolled cookie. Frost also serves up coffee and coffee drinks, as well as a few other treats that I’ll definitely be back to try. Right in the middle of ABQ Uptown, this is a perfect addition to the area!

Frost is one of the latest additions to Albuquerque’s frozen treat lineup. Since the demise of Ecco Gelato, it is up to Frost to carry gelato’s banner in the Q. They have a wonderful selection of nicely-presented gelatos and sorbets as well as other options such as espresso and root beer floats. The atmosphere in the shop is somehow both vibrant and relaxed with a color palette of white and light blues. There were plenty of helpful employees willing to help you with acquiring some of their fine gelatos or sorbets or just sampling their wares. I can only think of two knocks on this place’s resume. The first relates to portion size; to get two or more flavors, you must purchase a medium or large portion, far more than I’d prefer as an after-dinner treat. Oddly enough, this is the only gelato shop that I have been to that carries such limitations on their smaller portions. The second relates to the seating; there are only four or five small tables inside the the business. Thus, if the business is even moderately busy during the colder months, customers have to either stand around and eat their gelato or carry their creamy goodness elsewhere(I ended up at the Starbucks across the street). Regardless of these, Frost is definitely worth a visit.
