I had the El Nino on my first visit here last week. Now this place is my sandwich worship temple. It’s about 20 minutes away from my house, but worth the pilgrimage.

Seriously the best sandwiches. I love the different kinds of meat other than just the regular Ham and Turkey. I love this place more than Subway and Jimmy Johns hands down. Plus I always have great service

Awesome. The guys explained the menu to me. Betty friendly guys. Sandwich was huge and delicious. I never mind paying a little more when it comes to supporting a local business. If you can’t afford to spend ten dollars, eat at home please and sop complaining about prices. I love how I got to pick all my toppings. Very good. Will come again when I’m in the area for work.

All the food is amazing. My only complaints are slightly higher prices and no fries… I love fries…

Place is pretty good. I think the rating they have here is high. I went in and got the #1 which is the Italian beef with house made spicy giardiniera and spicy mayo with pepper jack cheese. I got the regular size which is about 5″. It was $ 8 for just the sandwich. The large is around 11″ and $ 14. That’s pretty high for a sub. The bread was great. The meat was OK to good. The giardiniera was good but not spicy. Biggest knack I have on the sandwich is it is an Italian beef… give me options on how I want it. They served it dry as a bone. I don’t need it falling apart from gravy, but I would go with that over a super dry hot beef. Maybe it’s my personal preference. All in all it was a decent sandwich that was overpriced in my opinion. I would try it again and see if maybe the Turkey wowed me more…

Subs are great and staff are friendly. Food is very filling and prices are decent. I would pick this over subway any day.

The service was great, staff was friendly, my issue was the quality of the meat. I know they are known for their Italian beefs, but I had a turkey sub. The turkey quality was sub-par at best. I would not go back to get that sub again. I may stop and try another sub, but I don’t think I will hurry back.

Amazing!!! Get the deep dish with salt, pepper, oil & vinegar and home made giardiniera. This place is a must try! We drove 30 minutes and I’d do it again in a heart beat! Will be coming back for more. All the subs look delicious! Can’t wait to try another :)

Short: Great Huge Subs. I was in Chicago for a Martial Arts seminar and my group went looking for some food nearby for lunch. Bub’s Subs was fantastic! I got the Cheesy Beef with mozzarella and added garlic aioli. It was a very large sandwich, I ended up having half for lunch and half on the drive back for dinner.

I always have the beef sandwhich… amazingly great! I’ve been here countless times and often bring new guests. I have yet to hear anyone say they didn’t fully enjoy the food. The staff is your typical teenage to early twenties group and are always friendly. The owner takes pride in his business and we’re always excited to return. I’d recommend going out of your way to experience the beef!

Loved this place. Been there a few times now. Wait staff great and knowledgeable alway willing to offer slow just a little something different on the sandwich. I did have an issue this past time though. I would have said they used a lot of meat on the sandwich but this time they counted the slices and they had not done that before. I liked that they made a great deli sandwich not too much but just right. They kind you enjoy and taste each different meats. The prices were the average around town but before they were a buck less which was a good price. Something has changed. I feel everyone should try it.

I agree, a bit overrated. The food was good, especially if you’re looking for something other than your typical Jimmy John’s and Subway routine. I had the El Nino(#1), the heat gave the sandwich a unique taste however the beef was unfortunately just average. I feel a bit of spice even salt and pepper could’ve brought all the flavors together. Their shop is nice, we sat outside, a very nice option. Also my fiancée thanks you for offering packaged cookies as an option instead of the rack of potato chips(she is allergic to potatoes). Bub’s Subs isn’t one of those places I’d recommend you’d «have» to eat at if you’re in the area. But rather an option if you are growing a bit tired of Jimmy’s and Subway. We will return, as we enjoyed the helpful staff and food.

Super, super good and you can get your sub toasted or not. Freshly made roasted garlic mayo and giardinera are terrific. Have had a few of the subs(Italian, ham and turkey) and they are all delicious. I would ask them to provide a small(mini?) sub for kids or those that don’t want to eat that much and to find a bakery for gluten free bread. My husband wants to enjoy your work as well. So glad to have something other than the chains in Algonquin/Huntley area!
