We’re open Christmas Day, delivered a lot of food. Great quality, tasty. The best was the Baba Ghanoush along with meat, chicken. They even had small baby pita bread. Every one enjoyed it.

Their kafta sandwiches are really good. Loved that. A must try. But the shish kabab and lentil soup wasn’t too good. Quick place to grab and go. Not a dine in ambience that you would like.

It was my first time at Shishkabob express and I think the last one too. The service was fine, staff tried to be helpful too, but the food wasn’t good to me. The Greek salad for instance had just one olive. The lamb kebab I had didn’t taste fresh, the meat was pretty tough to chew too. Perhaps it is just me, or maybe they make their food like this every day, either way, I don’t think I’d give the place another chance, there are a lot of good restaurants in Detroit.

All I wanted was to get a great tasting Chicken Schwarma sandwich… close to Ford… and to have it be relatively decent priced. Well, I got 2 out of the 3… I stopped by here after a meeting, and I was really feeling some Schwarma and Hummus. It was later than the normal lunch hour, so there wasn’t much of a line. and I was able to spend some time studying the menu so that I could get an idea of what I was about to order. They had a buy 4 get the 5th Chicken Schwarma Sandwich deal going on… which was just a crazy idea…(for me at the time) but I found a ‘combo meal’ that had both the Schwarma and the Hummus… and thrown in was a beverage of your choosing. Ordered it up… and then… $ 12. I was a little hesitant, but then I said to myself. «Hey, maybe its fantastc…» I filled my beverage up, and sat down waiting for my order to be called. They called my order, and I went and retreived it… and just to my dismay. there was a very hodge podge meal sitting in front of me. The sandwich was rather small. very lacking in the«Wow what a great sandwich» category, but it was Chicken Schwarma… and that part made me happy. The hummus. was slapped together in a giant styrofoam carry out container. Way too much for one person to eat. Probably enough for maybe 4 to eat. I was a little perplexed by all of this… But it just told me that I would have to keep on looking for a good place to get my schwarma fix.

My coworkers have been getting food from here and I decided to try. The Greek fattoush is awesome. I love the pita and garlic sauce as well. Great food!

My first visit to Shish Kaboob Express was for a falafel sandwich run. I tried the garlic paste, pita bread and crushed lentil soup. The falafel was good and flavorful(I added hummous). Note I don’t like a great deal of salt, so my taste buds may be different from most. The garlic paste was not too garlicky and went well with the flat pita bread. It was economical for under $ 10 and included a beverage. The wait was as quoted. I was in and out within 10 minutes. I am used to the creamier crushed lentil soup, but the soup was still hearty here(a little more chunky). I would return for a sandwich as it was a decent sandwich and priced under $ 5.

My brother and I go here all the time and it’s pretty delicious. We always get the chicken liver shawarma sandwich and as weird as it may sound it’s not funky tasting or anything at all. I like their garlic sauce the best, which you can eat with anything basically. They also have this little card which has like 10 slots or something(don’t quote me on this I’m guesstimating) and you get to stamp one box when you buy something that’s at least like $ 8 dollars(can’t remember sorry). Then you get a free appetizer. Not THAT big of a bonus but I mean if you end up loving the food, go ahead and get one of these cards! :-) Once again I’m not an experienced Arabic cuisine eater… But I think it’s

This is a great little place to eat. I’ve ate in and carried out multiple times and every time the food is fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and always offer up pita to go with carry-out orders. Their prices are very reasonable and you get a pretty large portion. I usually split their salads into two meals. Highly recommended! One thing to note is the area around this restaurant can get VERY busy during the work week lunch time so take that into consideration if you are time crunched. That’s no reflection on this great place though!

The food here is incredibly delicious — fresh and wonderfully prepared. Everything our party of four ordered was absolutely wonderful. Don’t miss the pastries — buttery and flaky — we went back for more. Friendly counter person brought out food when ready. The ambience is basic — this is essentially a Mediterranean takeout place with seating but the day was lovely and we sat outside(2 small tables available.). Don’t miss this place for a quick, delicious, inexpensive meal.

Excellent kabobs and sandwiches. Fresh juice made to order and only $ 4 for a large which I think is pretty damn affordable. I haven’t been too daring with their menu but it looks much like what every other middle eastern restaurant in town has to offer. Check out their specials written on the dry erase board when you walk in. Online menu is a plus if you’ve never been before. This past weekend I was in there waiting for a carry out order. Bless that tall man who works the register for his patience. I had to watch him deal with someone ordering who never once got off their phone while asking their buddy what they wanted and repeating everything he said, all with special requests. It was a lengthy ordeal but everyone seemed satisfied in the end.

My go to take out spot for chicken shawarmas! The meat is always quality in the sandwich and they are always accommodating when we ask to substitute fattoush salad for baba ghannouj in the starter combo. 2 chicken shawarmas and the starter combo cost $ 20 and there is always extra hummous/tabbouli to snake on the next day. Service is always fast and friendly I highly recommend!

Small place with a big menu. Friendly service, clean place with great selection. Fresh veggie juices are the best!

This was the most disappointing Middle Eastern food experience I’ve ever had. Those of you who love this place must not have gone to any other spots in Dearborn. They were slow, the lentil soup was cold and tasteless, the fattoush was unauthentic and way overpriced. The juices were good but expensive. This was my first and last time.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! SKE is a recurring lunch spot for my coworkers and me. Delicious, cheap, and they even offer frequent flyer cards. The shish tawook sandwich is phenomenal! It’s so great that I’ve never been able to order anything else… it holds my tastebuds captive.

I was coming out of Bed Bath and Beyond one day when I was overwhelmed by an amazing aroma of lamb traveling on the breeze from across the parking lot. I don’t recall being particularity hungry at that point, but the smell was so delicious that I literally followed my nose across two parking lots and a small«street» into SKE. I ordered the lamb schwarma, and am SOGLAD I did! Their lamb is incredibly well spiced and tender, and it comes pre-wrapped in a thin pita. It is perfectly balanced with tomatoes, pickles, and onions. Typically they give a delicious garlic sauce on the side, but I tend to ask them to incorporate the garlic sauce into the sandwich. To top off the fantastic schwarma, is the service. This is not a «sit down and order» establishment, but rather a «place your order at the counter and wait» kind of place, but that doesn’t prevent the people who work there from being incredibly warm. The first time I walked in, I was greeted with a wide, genuine smile. This seems to be the way they greet everyone. This is, by far and away, one of my favorite places for an inexpensive, quick, delicious meal. PS– the fresh juice and lentil soup are delicious as well!

Shish Kabob Express has great smoothies. They’re so good that when you’re done you’ll find yourself wondering if you have time to just pop in and get another. We usually order a quart to take home with us to avoid that problem. The food is quick and fresh. We’ve tried a variety of dishes and never found anything lacking. With small kids you always worry they wont find anything they like but then lentil soup and a plain falafel sandwich are winners with my kids.

This is a really good middle eastern restaurant. I have already ordered all kinds of meals and everything has been good. All the salads come with the dressing on the side so your salad doesn’t get soggy which is awesome. I usually get the $ 4.99 skewer of lamb or chicken and they give you a lot for each skewer. I have been to some places where they skimp out on the meat. The hummus was great and so were the sandwiches. They have combination deals and it’s a good price. It has a good size dining area but it’s not a waiter service. Sometimes they will bring the food to you if you let them know you’re dining in. I kinda like it this way then you don’t have to spend more money on tips. Everytime I get a carry out they have given me ton of free garlic dip and little containers of hummus and pitas… Nice!

Dropped by to pick up a chicken schwarma for lunch today. The chicken was VERY dry, the pickles tasted oddly fishy and the garlic sauce was nowhere to be found. This place is new, so I’m giving them 2 stars rather than 1, but c’mon guys– the schwarma was inexcusably bad. Even for $ 3.99…
