We had unknowingly gone to their other location last week and had a good experience and thought we couldn’t go wrong coming here after everything else was about 1 ½ hour wait for dinner. Well, I should have known that the reason for that is probably the food. As others have mentioned, the veggies really suck. The broccoli was brown in some parts and the corn was old. Probably not going back to this location.

Wonderful food. Wonderful service. The waitress, Jacqueline, really made a great experience for us. The head chef visited our table as well to make sure we had a great time. I highly recommend the Cotton Patch Café to be on your list of places to eat in Allen Texas.

This place has really gone downhill. It is never busy and the servers really don’t care if you are happy or not. The food is still ok but the atmosphere is kind of depressing.

I had the Shiner Bock fish and chips. Loved it. Wife had great big Caesar salad. Couldn’t eat it all. Our friend got the steak and shrimp. Waiter was excellent. Today was Free Mini Peach Cobbler Day. Yum

Went here twice in a week and both times this location could not get the mixed veggies right. I always ask for soft veggies and they don’t seem to know how to do that. Everything else was pretty good. Will definitely go to the McKinney next time. They always get it right.

My husband and I LOVE this place and have been going there for years! The food is great. The service is always friendly and helpful. The mixed drinks are yummy, and if you sign up, you can get coupons for buy one, get one free or free appetizers. I really like the fried green tomatoes and strawberry pecan salad.

Make sure you come check this place out. I have been to Cottonpatch before, yet it wasn’t nearly as pleasant of an experience as it was at this site. It was really clean and the staff was really friendly. The food was pretty good, but for the price nearly unbeatable. What made the experience over-the-top amazing was our server. Her name was Jackie.(I think her real name is Jacqueline). I have been a server at a high-class restaurant for years so I’m really picky with my servers but she did amazing. So go in and get the fish and chips.

We started with Queso which surprisingly had a kick to it and was very good. The bread is extremely bland along with the butter. I ordered a salad that I sent back because it wasn’t very good,(to me anyways) and I got a cup of BP soup which was good and had a kicker to it also. My husband ordered the quesdillas and he said they were good but I know he didn’t like them that much. Ive been waiting for a refill of ST for 10 minutes now and nobody has noticed. Our server pretty much disappeared. A blonde lady server just came up to fill his drink. Probably won’t return.

Our first time at this place. We have been to the McKinney restaurant several times. So, it was a cold and snowy day and we were in the shopping center where this is located. We gave it a shot for lunch and were not disappointed. I have the 3 fish tacos am=nd my wife had the half sandwich and soup combo. Both were very good. Our server was efficient and pleasant and the prices are reasonable. There is no «wow» factor here to make us keep this on top of our lunch list. However, like their other location, it is solid, decent food. If I am in the area and it is lunch time I would go back here for sure. If you are using Unilocal to see if you should try it, I would give it a shot. I see it is a three star. For me it was a wobbler between 3&4 so I went with the higher rating because our server was so pleasant.

Looking for a great chicken fried steak for my husband, we remembered having a great one at a local Texas chain in Henderson. I love Texas and my fried food, but alas I had had my fill during our vacation; when I said that to the staff they were able to recommend a grilled catfish dish with delicious veggies. This dish was delicious! My husband enjoyed his chicken friend steak … We all left happy. The service was excellent!

Smallest location with the nicest servers and the worst parking. Amazing food — don’t miss the chicken fried chicken, chicken quesadilla, bacon cheese fries or the coconut cream pie! Semi-shaded patio tables available too. If there’s an event going on at the Allen convention center, forget about trying to find a parking space here.

I wish I could remember our waitresses name, but for the life of me I cannot. Even if the food sucked, it wouldn’t matter because the service was OUTSTANDING! But the food was great as well. Our waitress was attentive, but not overly annoying by any means. She checked on us just when the timing was right, brought drinks out before we were empty, and even let us sample sides before making a decision. I really enjoyed my first time eating there because of this wonderful waitress we had. All places should take notes from her and how great she is! I want to say her name was Jessica? But I could be totally off! Anyways, I’m sure they are all great there. Keep up the great work, and the good comfort food!

A big fan of the chicken fried pork chops here. If you’re looking for something just a little different, give it a try.

We frequent here a lot because the location is convenient and the prices are good. Service can be hit or miss but I would say 80% of the time it’s average and 25% of the time it’s great. The chicken and dumplings are great and reminds me of the kind great grandma use to make. The pork chops are very good as well.

Very Hit-or-Miss. The location is very convienient for our family. The appearance of the restaurant gives you that home cooking feel. Think Black Eyed Pea or Cracker Barrel. Unfortunately, the food is closer to Applebees or Bennigans quality. Every once in a while, it will be hot and fresh. But most times, it tastes like it was cooked hours earlier and warmed up. Dissapointing.

Home cooking, mostly. It’s hit or miss on whether you will have an ok meal or not.

Cotton Patch presents a consistent choice for a southern meal. The atmosphere in the restaurant is what you would expect from this restaurant: clean, repetitive, chain-like. While our server was nice, service was very slow. This part put a damper on the whole experience, since I was in a hurry to leave town. Country Fried Steak was good with a crispy breading. The lunch portion is perfect size. I don’t know how you could finish the dinner portion. They did have well-priced lunch specials. Overall, this restaurant would be a fine choice for an after-church lunch.

Every restaurant has its ups and downs. I have had both experiences at the Allen location. First time there, I was pumped because it was my first time — duh. Dinner was delicious, I had chicken and dumplins and a couple veggie sides covered in butter. I like to eat healthy. Dinner is finished and it’s time for cobbler. Right before taking a bite of the sugar covered fruit, what do I notice hanging down from the dessert? The longest hair I’ve ever seen. It was creepy long and all wrapped in the dessert. I mean wtf? I understand shorter hair because you can’t see it but this thing was atleast 10 inches long, how could the server not notice it? I was quite disgusted, actually I wanted to throw up everywhere. The manager took it off our bill but wasn’t apologetic at all, which was unfortunate. Everytime I pass Cotton Patch, all I can think of is hairy dessert. Not very appetizing eh?
