My wife and I stopped in forty minutes before close on a Saturday to pick up sandwiches and were greeted with scowls. Folks behind the counter were unfriendly/unwelcoming or helpful but distracted(by a cell phone). Based on this experience and a few of the other reviews here, it seems at least some of Bread & Butter’s weekend staff members need an attitude adjustment.

Husband and I have been here a couple of times and the food is usually good. Atmosphere is sunny with a side of hipster. Last time we went we had THEWORST server EVER. She was curt, didn’t look us in the eye once, practically threw our plates down on the table and when we asked for water she came by with a pitcher, sloppily poured it into our glasses, spilling a veritable puddle of water on the floor and left it there, never to return except to drop off the check. I’d like to mention that this was around 9:30 On a weekday, so relatively quiet compared to how I’ve seen it on weekends a NO excuse for not mopping up the water immediately — SO much water, SO much attitude! I don’t see us ever going back there.

I stopped in for breakfast the other day, and it was amazing. If you are looking for oversized diner portions, this isn’t the place for you. BUT if you want beautifully prepared, delicious, satisfying food – in a clean, open, modern space, with beautiful wood and lots of natural light– this is the place to be. The eggs were beautifully poached, the potatoes were perfectly seasoned, and the pork belly was EPIC. Seriously — I wanted to lick my plate. Service was friendly and attentive. The chef was at the counter, and modestly received my praise and answered my questions. I will definitely be back.

I stopped in here with my mom and sister for breakfast. Our meal was great and there are nice alternatives for vegans such as tofu scramble and almond or soy milk for their latte drinks. Seats are comfortable in a light modern rustic atmosphere.

Outstanding customer service and food was awesome! I got a BLT with an egg on it, it was very good. I saw the eggs benedict and it look so good, next time I will have to try it.

Found Bread and Butter on Google Maps while planning a motorcycle trip through the area. We usually stop at Bubs, but I just had to plan something more upscale for this ride. The other riders were thanking me for the rest of the day for stopping here. We all kept saying«perfect» while having our brunch. Two of us had the Florentine Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached and the truly home made hash was outrageously good. One of us had the Pork Belly Benny. The meat had a delicious, crazy good sriracha sauce. All of us loved the«home fries», which were anything but usual home fries — but were thinly sliced, non-greasy fried potatoes. Delightful! Even the iced tea was perfection. We were told that a table would cost us a 30 minute wait so we sat at the empty bar, which offered prompt and courteous service. The atmosphere is very clean and inviting. On the down side — I wished I lived closer so that I could visit more often… and why weren’t places like this around when I went to college there? Look forward to going back in the fall on our next ride out this way. Great find!

Been here twice now, and it’s been delicious both times. First time I got the Duck Confit Hash, second time the Pork Belly Benedict(both on their usual menu). I haven’t tried their specials yet(which rotate) but a friend had one of their special omelettes and vouched for it being great! It’s a new restaurant and sometimes that’s clear. The second time I went there were four of us and we waited over an hour to get seated because the kitchen was backed up — which was no big deal to us. Hostess and waitstaff were grateful that we weren’t causing a ruckus and the food came out pretty quickly when we finally got settled and ordered. My recommendation is to just grab a coffee(or two) and chill while you wait. There’s seating space inside and some great standing space outside too! The food is totally worth the wait. I have hopes to eat through the menu, but that Pork Belly is just 100!

Fabulous brunch location, I highly recommend the lemon poppy seed pancakes with fresh strawberries… perfect for a spring morning! The service was great, although be prepared to wait a bit because of how popular it is on weekend mornings!

The wait here is very long. I came with my friend on a Sunday, don’t do that! They are hiring more staff, but it still shouldn’t take this long to get your basic breakfast food. I am still waiting and hope that the quality of the food will compensate me for all of the time I had to wait.

Are we all eating at the same place? I’ve been to Bread and Butter a few times now, and I’ve always had great experiences. I’ve never waited very long for being seated or my food, and never had to flag waitstaff down. The only mistake they’ve made with me was forgetting to charge my friend and I for our coffees, and it took no time at all for them to fix that when we pointed it out. The food is solid — they’re just inventive enough to keep me interested but just conventional enough that it’s still definitively an American breakfast joint. The portions are reasonable, which is to say that they’re somewhat smaller than the mountains of food that you’d typically get at a breakfast place. I’ve never left hungry or unsatisfied. The ambiance is a bit too hip for my tastes, but it works pretty well — I don’t know if I’d change much. The place is a touch pricey for a broke grad student like me(which would only pull it down to 4.5 stars rather than 4 if that was possible) but as an occasional treat it’s well worth it.

Well, nothing has changed. The food was good but the service was horrible. The waitress took our order after being there for 20 minutes and then never comes back. I had to go up to the counter 3 different times to ask for things that I couldn’t get from the waitress; water, coffee creamer, spoon. Very frustrating and enough to make me not hurry back.

My impression of half the people who left reviews here; «WAHHHHHH! WAHHHHHH! WAHHHHHHH!» If you leave a one star review because your food was a little late at a new restaurant during Sunday brunch time I hope something horrible happens to someone you love. I’ve eaten here a dozen times and only once was my food a little late. The waitress apologized a million times, and because I’m an adult, I understood. Good food, but a smaller menu. No big deal. Vegan options are a plus, more would be nice, especially pastries. No big deal.

Bread and Butter is a great space and has nice décor, but that’s about it. Got there around 9AM on a Saturday morning and it was busy, but no line out the door or anything crazy. Ordered promptly and waited… and waited… and waited. Close to an hour later a mediocre portion of a tofu scramble and an egg sandwich arrived. Nothing earth shattering and not worth an hour wait. Staff all seemed unfazed by the long wait time as well and didn’t really try make up for the poor service. I was certainly expecting more, as owner of Bread and Butter is the former sous chef of the Lone Wolf. A place that has generous portions and much better service. I highly recommend saving a few bucks and just going to Atkins for some donuts and local chocolate milk.(I did this after my experience at Bread & Butter)

I live breathe and die coffee. The lattes are savory and the closest I’ve found to delicious Australian Espresso. The eggs florentine are also to die for. THEBESTBREAKFASTANDCOFFEEINTHEAMHERSTAREA, by a long shot.

Dat pork belly glaze doh. Mmmmmppphhhhhh. I had the meaty breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel and it was silly how good it was. Bagel seemed fresh and had the right amount of ‘everything’ on it, fried egg cooked perfectly, melted gooey cheddah, and the star, the glazed pok belly, fudge dude, I can’t even describe how solid it was. The homefries aka thinly sliced potatoes were delicious, but you only get a few. It’s not meant to be the star and for the cats complainin’ ’bout the portion size — you ain’t at no Denny’s so chill tfo. The duck confit hash was as good as it gets — it’s not like hash at any other restaurant. This was small ¼″ cubed potatoes with shredded duck and seasoned perfectly. The corn beef hash was the same. Small cubes of corned beef with those crisp griddled edges — I can dig it. My wife was not a fan tho. Our server was friendly, smiling, and came back sporadicly during our meal. I don’t drink coffee, so I can’t comment there. I did wish they served lunch on Saturdays, but I guess it’s only during the week. I was looking forward to a pork belly sandwich, but the pork belly, egg, and cheese sandwich still hit the spot. All the benedicts I saw drifting by and sitting at other tables looked insane, too. I bet Unilocal flags this post for too much love. This place was delicious and the ambiance/design of the room was great. Though, with all the big, beautiful windows, if the sun is beating down, it can be pretty bright.

The food was pretty good. My issue was the service. It was over an hour from the time we sat down until our food was served. The omelette I ordered was completely wrong. Out of the 3 ingredients I ordered, 2 were wrong. They seemed to be really understaffed, a critical error for a weekend morning.

Service was great, charming servers. Quite possibly the most decious benedict I have ever tasted. The maple sriracha pork belly benedict is absolutely phenomenal! Great job guys I will make the 2 hour drive again in a heartbeat!

Good breakfast place with organic food. Very good latte and chai tea. When it is full the kitchen seems to slow down. Very friendly staff and service. Missing shades on the glass front. Makes it uncomfortable to sit there with they sun directly in the face.

Two stars for 2nd time, one star for 1st visit. So they’re improving. Why is the service still so bad? High prices/really really small portions/Breakfast $ 13.00 + 20% tip/still hungry! I’ll try again in six months.

Bread and Butter is the place to go! We went for Father’s Day and we weren’t disappointed! My wife had an omelet loaded with veggies and I had a breakfast sandwich, on house made bagel, both superb. By far the food was what will get me to come back. The décor was modern and innovative, big windows, not a bad seat in the house. Service was friendly and the hostess took good care of us, great place to bring kids. Truly great food.
