Really comically bad. First, the service is abysmal. I dont blame the staff who seemed friendly enough, its really the manager who needs to be replaced. While they appear to be overstaffed, we’ve had horrendous service in 2 of our 3 visits. First time we waited over half an hour for breakfast when the restaurant was 90% empty yet servers were abundant. Also nobody came back to check on us so I had to go track someone down when I wanted to add a coffee. Second time, I took a seat at the end of the bar in the evening, waiting to order a pint. After sitting there for 10 minutes and being completely ignored by all the servers(who just pretended I didn’t exist as they walked back and forth around me), I just got up and left and went across the street to carsons to get a beer Also, we only ate breakfast, but the food was awful(which was an added insult to injury considering how long we waited). The coffee tasted like watered down Folger, ugh. I ordered yogurt with granola. Accustomed to ordering this elsewhere and getting a nicely presented bowl of yogurt with homemade or similar granola, instead here I got a plastic cup of lowfat Yoplait(I think it was Yoplait, with the foil wrapper) and a beaten up box of Kelloggs granola that were both tossed in front of me. Unbelievable. On the other hand, they had some OK beers on tap. But that’s not worth much of no one comes to take your order…

Abysmal service. Half an hour for a salad, another 40 minutes for entrees and they were cold. Manager did not check in with us after we requested to speak to him. Would give zero stars if possible.

Agree with most other reviews, it’s «meh» and ridiculously overpriced. The food isn’t bad, but nothing to get excited about. The«kids eat free» for hotel guests is a huge misnomer in that its only if you’re paying full retail price at the hotel(who does that anymore?) which is mentioned no where on their website. It’s probably fine if you’re staying at the hotel for business and get reimbursed for meals, but if I were local I can’t think of any reason that I would come back. Staff was fine and friendly, no complaints there. My biggest complaint is just that the food is easily 30% overpriced.

This place has the worst service I have ever experienced. We were there over 3 hours. Our food didn’t come out all together. We had to tell our waitress that she forgot to bring out our drinks we asked for. We waited almost an hour for our check. We continued going up to the bar and asking the waitress where our check was and both her and the manager started to give an unnecessary attitude. I would not recommend this place to anyone. And if I could I would give it zero stars.

Oh boy. I’m won’t even talk about the lousy service that we received. Let’s delve into the nachos. Lots of lettuce, tomato, jalapeño, and black olives are no way to cover up tasteless beef and a lack of chips. Drinks are fine here, priced well, but not into the food. If you’re staying at the hotel where the restaurant is located, give it a try. Otherwise, stay clear.

I would give it negative starts if I could! WAYUNDERSTAFFEDFOR A DAYTHEYKNEWWOULDBEBUSY! It took an hour to get a beer another hour or more to get our food that was AWFUL we left it without even eating it. My mother went to say something to the manager Heidi was told that she didn’t care. I went to say something about how that and how she was handling things and she said«blah blah blah I don’t have time for this»

I keep coming here because my son loves the pool in the hotel. However the bar and grille always disappoints. It’s Ohio vs MI game day and there’s two servers on staff. My parents had the lasagna which was featured but looked liked and tasted like leftovers. My sons Mac and Cheese was a brick. I’m not even going to talk to management because I have brought up issues before and they are an excuse surplus outlet. Great accommodations, way off onsite eats…

Over-priced, slow service. In the evening, it took 15 minutes to be greeted and served a beer. In the morning, they offered juice with the breakfast buffet. I mistakenly thought the juice and coffee were included with the buffet-wrong. $ 5 for juice, $ 2 for coffee.

I paid $ 435 for 2 rooms and I have to pay $ 2.50 per person to get into the hotel restaurant? And when we foolishly do, the band is so loud we can’t even talk.

What an awful experience from the«management» of this restaurant. We stopped in for some drinks and food after a Michigan football game since we were staying nearby and our hotel didn’t have a bar, and we wanted to watch the MSU/Oregon game. Our server was great — very attentive despite how crazy busy they were, and the food was decent, not great, bar food(we just had appetizers…). Where it went all down hill was when the band came on. They had a live jazz band that was decent but we weren’t really paying attention. In fact, because of the location of the TV I had my back to the band so I could see the game. But my gripe isnt about them having a band or even the band itself… it was the manager. She came around while we were eating soliciting cover charge since they had a band — despite the fact we had already been sitting there for about an hour or so and were wanting to watch the game. Then when I went to the restroom(which is in the hotel lobby, outside of the bar) and came back she stopped me at the door and said I had to have a stamp to get in or pay cover to get a stamp. I explained to her I was already there eating and drinking and watching the game and not interested in the band. She again tried to get me to pay to which I said, well if you dont let me back in I guess I can’t pay my bill. I just walked past her but the entire experience should have never happened. Something shady going on here making me wonder if this manager gets a cut of the cover charges or something — because she could’ve cared less that we were spending about $ 100 at one of her tables.

All out awful. Horrible management, fractured staff. Sneaking puffs of a cigarette in the server’s corner(and yes, it was cigarette because I smelt it on my clothes the next morning). Two servers were bitching about a bartender and actually wanted to include me and my opinion about it. Just because I am plopped down at the last bar stool doesn’t make me game for the drama. And that was it from top to bottom. DRAMA. Service was slow according to the barkeep because of the computer. Food delivery according to expo was because the kitchen. Waiting 13 minutes for another pint of Guinness was because another patron was talking too much. I wouldn’t go back to this place with your wallet. Too bad to, because the hotel it is attached to is outstanding! Top it all off, food was dry and overcooked as well as I asked for a snakebite and got charged for a pint of Guinness and a pint of cider to make 1 snakebite. Un-frikkin’ idiocrocy believable!

Not a bad for a hotel place. Nothing spectacular but not bad either. They have some great local brews & good prices on them. A couple of tvs with local & national sports. If your stuck at the holiday inn or don’t want drive around not a bad place to be stuck at.

Wow. Terrible service. Really? Our waitress had no clue what the specials were. It took 20 minutes for our 2 margaritas to arrive. We ordered nachos, which took 45 minutes to arrive and were given no napkins, silverware, or plates. I had to go to the bar and ask for them myself. Music was great… The only reason I gave 1 star. We will wait until the band plays at a different venue… Won’t be coming back here again.

The broccoli cheddar soup is the worst I’ve ever had. Seriously flavorless. Tastes like it’s from s can. It’s sad when Denny’s has better soup than you. The only reason I’m giving them two stars is the fact that the server was nice. Bloody Mary also tastes very basic… I think they use Tobasco mix.

Everything tastes so cheap. Even the pepper tasted cheap. I’m also 90% sure the turkey on my sandwich came from some grocery stores presliced package. This is the kind of place where you walk in and can tell the only business they get is from the hotel it’s connected too. If you like failure and disappointment, then eat here.

I feel bad this place gets such bad reviews and I hated that I looked on Unilocal prior to eating here as it made me very critical. The bartender was attentive and good with everyone by me. She made specific recommendations based on what she orders there. The younger servers were helping train in a new server and were so eager to help her learn. They all walked by several times and were polite and friendly. Maybe the bar seating is where it’s at? I was hesitant about ordering the crab cakes, but I was in the mood for them & bartender«seconded» my choice. Now, the food wasn’t necessary outstanding, but it did have good flavor and cooked properly. My problem was portion size — ridiculously large. I’d rather get knocked off my seat because it wowed me that much — and leaving me scraping my plate clean wanting more — than pushing half of the plate back at them. Especially silly when most of the clientele is in there since it’s in the hotel and not dealing with leftovers. But I did really want to try the strawberry shortcake. So glad I pushed it away.(Plus stacking crabcakes — 3 of them no less — made the nice char they did have get soggy as the time passed.) Massive size once again, but not bad. All in all, the staff was trying and the cook did a nice job. More focus on quality ingredients and less on quantity would go a long way here.

Should have read reviews before coming here. Waited 45 minutes for a sandwich. Place was nowhere near full. Food was edible, but for $ 10, I could have got better and more food at a fast food joint.

Awful, awful, awful! Do not eat here EVER! The food is all frozen garbage & I’ve seen the management personally treat the employees terrible. I feel bad for anyone that steps foot in this place as a guest or an employee! Save yourself the food poisoning & go down the street to Carsons or Applebees. Over priced, understaffed & just plain sad!

I thought I was getting a good deal with Thursday night special of little hamburger & fries & a beer for less than $ 6 but boy did I pay the real price with diarrhea vomiting & had to call off work Friday & Saturday losing 19 hours of pay! Never been so sick with food poisoning in my life with fever chills body still aches & still afraid to eat as even water and ½ can clear pop came back up with dry heaves. Never again except maybe to listen to blues music but BUTDONOTEATHERE! Unless you like to stay in bed for 2 days/nights.
