My new favorite place in Antioch. We went there for lunch to take advantage of their lunch specials and you get so much food for such a little price! We each got a lunch entrée(big enough to take some home for leftovers) and a cup of soup(either egg drop or spicy) and an egg roll(also comes with your chose of white or fried rice, we always chose the fried rice). The food is abundant, especially for lunch and sooo yummy. I love their Empress Chicken and their Governor’s Chicken. My husband loves their beef and pea pods. My sister in law really enjoyed her beef and broccoli(and she is really picky!). The lunch menu ends at 2:30 and it’s from Monday through Saturday. Anytime we are hungry within those hours we will sure be back again and again!

Great food, service was fast and friendly. Governors Chicken was fantastic and some of the best crab meat rangoon’s around. Excellent choice if you are staying at the hotel near the restaurant.

We have been ordering from Szechwan Palace(Antioch) for a few years, but as of today we are puzzled as to what has changed. Is there a new chef/new management? Both dishes(House Bean Curd and Mongolian Beef) were missing sauce – nearly dry. Before today, there was always plenty of sauce. We did appreciate that the food was not as salty, but each dish was seriously lacking in flavor – very bland. I cook good authentic Asian food(chinese, korean, thai, etc.), which my husband prefers. Tonight, I simply did not feel like cooking and decided to order. The Mongolian Beef was so bland I offered to doctor it up for my husband! The only flavor I could taste in his Mongolian Beef was cinnamon… not Five Spice, just cinnamon. The House Bean Curd wasn’t as bad, but there just wasn’t enough sauce(barely a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of the container). The pork in the pot stickers had absolutely no flavor. Overall, the pot stickers looked like they had been fried in burned oil(not golden brown, but the darkened kind of oil color). The texture of the pot stickers led me to believe these were cooked and frozen, and re-fried in bad oil. This actually makes me question if everything was premade/frozen with no seasonings and just reheated. The only other dishes that were Ok and did not appear to have changed were the vegetable spring rolls and rice(you really can’t mess up white rice). Delivery — Fast as usual and dishes were hot. On the plus side, you can now order online from their site, which will redirect you to Beyond Menu: We might give this restaurant 1 more try to see if we just had a ‘miss’ tonight, but we’ll probably think twice about it – more like I’ll end up just cooking! I really hope I don’t have to find another Chinese restaurant, which is very hard to find in Lake County let alone one that delivers.

In the area for a ski trip and chose this over neighboring fast food(mcd, bk, taco bell) and was very pleased with the decision. Great food and a decent price and tremendous service! Bonus: Almond Cookie served at the end!!!

Food was excellent. We ordered delivery and the meal showed up at the exact time promised. We used the BeyondMenu app which made it easy to search the menu as well as order. Will order from them again

Small portions at a premium price. Average quality, nothing outstanding here. I would seek out other options in area and surrounding towns. Not impressed at all.

Loved it! Great service, fast attentive, very efficient and friendly. Food was great! Fried rice is awesome, soup was good too! Chilli sauce is also right on the money. Very happy.

Pretty decent place for around here. Seem pleasant enough inside for pickup. Been there several times for pickup and the order is right, hot, and ready.

Just moved to Antioch recently and tried a few of the local Chinese restaurants. This is by far the best Chinese food in the area. The ingredients are fresh and the sauces are not overly think like most places. The food comes very close to the restaurant, Chef Ping, in Rolling Meadows which Yahoo named the best Chinese food in Illinois.

They get 4 stars for fresh ingredients – I stopped in while in town on a business trip, and was pleasantly surprised – not the best Chinese fare I’ve ever had, but for a $ 6.60 lunch special the quality was very good. The Hot & Sour soup had a hearty beefiness to it, and the Mongolian Beef had fresh sliced button mushrooms and onions. Not the most complex flavor profile for Mongolian Beef, but the fact that they didn’t use canned mushrooms, that they had good-sized portions, and that the service was very friendly deserves a good review. Definitely worth a try if you’re in Antioch and are in the mood for Chinese fare.

Not bad… semi average chinese food~we had orange chicken(daughter had a lot of fat not trimmed off)~egg drop soup pretty ok… hubby had hot & sour soup which smelled & tasted off~crab rangoon more lke crab salad. too sweet & not creamy~pork fried rice had nice flavor but dry. we only ordered cause listed as delivery & even though 5−7min away they said«out of their range»…hubby had to pick up~Can’t see making this our go to chinese… edible but not our favorite… will go pick up at our trusted place! =)

We’ve ordered from here twice and everything has been good. My favorite things here so far — the potstickers, Szechwan chicken and crab Rangoon. I was nervous to try this place out because there was a blonde teenager working at the counter — but she has made some good food recommendations so far and we have been happy with our dinners.

Honestly, the best Chinese in the area that I have tried. We drive from Round Lake to pick it up. The fried rice is delicious and authentic, unlike the places near me that think orange is the ideal color. Their sesame chicken is the best I’ve ever eaten and apparently very popular. For Chinese, it’s a bit pricey, but the portion sizes are generous and you will have leftovers for days.

Finally, decent Chinese food. We have been searching for a good place in the area and every place we tried failed. Not anymore. We will be coming back. Spring and egg rolls were great. Fried rice was not greasy. Our entrée weren’t floating in sauce which made me very happy. The amount of food is a lot but I am ok with leftovers for lunch. We will be back.

We love their food. Come down from Bristol specifically for the orange flavor chicken and house fried rice. Walk in and order off the menu — 15 mins later out the door with dinner!

Just. Great. We live in the middle of the woods and the driver had no problems getting here. Service was excellent, the person who picked up the phone was extremely patient, and delivery time was on point. Food was great, got the Cantonese house special noodles, shrimp with lobster sauce, and beef szechwan. Very satisfied and would recommend!

Stayed in the area after spending the day at Wilmot. Decided to order from Szechwan Palace since it was right next to the hotel. Phone order was easy and painless. Food was ready in a quick 10−15minutes. Egg rolls were decent. Ordered a tofu dish and Kung Pao shrimp for entrees. Both had this brown drippy gravy which was edible, nothing great though. For ok Chinese food, I suppose it’s not bad for the area it’s in.

It is becoming my experience that finding good sit down Chinese restaurants is challenging in the Northern suburbs of Chicago. Many seem to have gone the way of carry out and no longer wishing to carter to the dine in community. Of course there are a few buffet only places, but I’ve stopped going to these places around here as they are all of poor quality. For Szechwan Palace, albeit the dinning area would be considered small for the traditional, sit down Chinese place, it is by far one of the larger I’ve come across in Lake County, IL.(Yangs being the largest I’ve seen) The seats are comfortable, the place is nicely decorated, and clean. The service is good, even when crowded, the food arrives to the table quickly and hot. If you crave a particular dish a bit more spicy, they will accommodate. It has been my experience that even the items they say are spicy, don’t come out spicy, so I ask them to kick it up a notch and they do so without question. In my opinion, the one area where they seem to be off on are their soups. The Won-Ton is bland, the Sweet & Sour is too sour and the EggDrop is too greasy. However, they more than make up for this in their appetizers… give the CrabRagoons a whirl, we love them. For main dishes I’ve tried the Garlic Chicken & SzechBeef, both were really good. They are also very generous in their portions… even on the lunch menu. So, if your in the neighborhood, and in the mood for Chinese, then Szechwan Palace is a good choice.
