I’ve been 3 times… 1st time was underwhelming. 2nd time also was also underwhelming. 3rd time just outright disappointed. Note, I’ve only been at peak business hours, so it may be better when it’s slow. Depending on the server, you may be waiting a while for just a water or coffee refill. Large parties aren’t easily accommodated as the restaurant is small and narrow. All I know is that I’d rather go to Perkins or Denny’s and pay less for the same quality of below average food… Update 6÷18÷16 Service was better, however this is the second time that I’ve visited and they’ve run out of a signature item. My wife likes this place so I’m obligated to keep coming, but it’s not my 1st choice.

Service was extremely slow. Took an hour for the food to come out. Food did taste good though. Nice brunch selection.

Second time for breakfast since name change. 2 eggs, toast, coffee plus 3 sausage links almost $ 11 dollars, awful, coffee like dishwater. Only one other table with customers. Will not return!

If the service was any slower I could have order dinner… seen several people get forgotten while others were served. People were asking the never to be seen waitresses… horrible service. Biscuits and gravy were salty like the ocean and the biscuit was like left over pilsbury dough… if I didn’t have a threat of high blood pressure I do now

The service was extremely slow. When the food did come out it was cold. Disappointed that they can’t even make their grits from scratch. With a name like«FlapJack» for your place, I would expect amazing pancakes. That was not the case. Just got plain pancakes and they were super sweet, like they added sugar in the batter. Probably will not be back.

Have been here a couple of times. First time went for breakfast, food was good but took forever, service ok, asked for a refill and never got it, paid and left. Second time for lunch, food good, again took a long time to come out, service ok. Third time breakfast again, took forever and service was ok, asked for refill that never happened, if paying that much for a diet soda and never get a refill… what the h!!! Server pasted by several times and never acknowledged us again once bill was on table, surely she could see that my drink was empty. Not being petty just wanted a refill. We had three different waiters if not four on our last visit. We like giving our business to small owned places, but if the server can’t remember what drinks you ordered and has to come back and ask, well you need to hire people with more experience or at least train more efficient. Manager or Assistant Manager is nice but very loud she needs to tone it down a bit, don’t enjoy hearing someone talk loudly when trying to enjoy a meal.

First time here. Not impressed at all. The place seamed tacky. Went for lunch. The two of us ordered there version of a club sandwich. There were only a few tables occupied and the service seamed slow. After 20 minute or so a server came back and said they do not have enough meat to make our sandwiches. At that point I got up and walked out. As we left one of the staff members said don’t let this be your first impression. Lol

My friend Megan has been begging all of us to go to this place. Every time our group of friends discusses getting breakfast, she throws this place out there. So today, we finally went. And all I can say is this– I remember when this used to be Roc City Diner… and also when it used to be a little pizza place by the karate studio. It’s had many different themes and foods inside but this one has probably been the best. From the outside it may look a little plain… but when you step in it’s very elegant. They’ve designed it so that there’s a large array of seats and nice lighting hanging above. There’s generic breakfast pictures hung in expensive frames all over the place. The décor is definitely one of the best parts. The waiter was very nice and was doing his best to accommodate everyone at my table. He seemed a little nervous but got all the drinks to the table quickly. He was also fast on refills. The only thing that took long was getting the actual food. This can only be blamed on the amount of people that came in but may also be the lack of staffing in the kitchen. Doesn’t matter, though. The food came out looking great and there were no problems with it. The pancakes I got were chocolate chip and although the texture wasn’t my favorite it still had a good taste to it. My friends enjoyed what they ordered as well. The only issue is that it’s a ton of food so you might end up not finishing all of it. Overall, a pretty cool place. It wasn’t that expensive compared to other well known breakfast joints and the staff was very friendly. They upped the anty with the new touches of décor and I think the customers are really appreciating it. May come back, we’ll see.

Food is good, coffee could be better. Servers are friendly. The corned beef hash is not the southern style(it has ketchup) so just a heads up. Desserts look yummy. Speed of food service could be a tad faster, but not bad for a small place.

Good breakfast spot for the area. Some simple changes would make this my «go to» location. Get real ketchup. Heinz ketchup please! Also, upgrade the jellies. Generic ketchup and jellies/jams at a breakfast restaurant? Come on!

Came for breakfast, parking is good, OJ a bit tart for my taste, hash browns had a greasy taste, eggs were over cooked and pancakes had a strange taste — not a good taste. Service was good but the toast was best thing on my plate.

This is a breakfast and lunch only establishment. Most in the area are greasy spoons with outdated décor. Not the case with flapjacks someone said the food was on par with Perkins or Denny’s which I agree with. But unlike those establishments this is locally owned so I know my money is being used by local employees. The only complaint is they don’t open till 7 so all the early birds flock to the greasy spoons down the road

Cold over cooked eggs. Hash browns had a taste of dish soap from a pan that was not fully rinsed. At least I know they clean their kitchen equipment! Pancakes were awesome! Would only come back just to order pancakes.

As a breakfast and lunch place this restaurant earns an easy 5+. Great service! Milk was fresh but would be nicer if ice cold. Immaculately clean. Well worth the money. Best pecan pancakes I’ve ever eaten. When I started to rate this place I thought I can’t give it the same five stars reserved for the downtown fleur-de-lis restaurants. However, the thought that some Mouse-eared cash-flush, snowbird might wander into the area and drift over to Denny’s and miss this place… Well. Flapjack Johnny and his helper Lauren, here’s your 5STARS.

Finally got a chance to try this new place out. First impression was good. We were seated quickly, the table was clean and the server was friendly. Drink orders were taken shortly after being seated. Food prices are very reasonable and the food is good for the money. Good is the key word here, not spectacular or terrible, just good. I will definitely go back, and based on other reviews, I will need to try the flapjacks, which given the name Flapjack Johnny’s, I probably should have done in the first place.

Finally our first chance to visit this new restaurant in Apopka! The place was packed late on a Saturday morning. We were seated quickly in the small, casual dining room and brought a sticky booster for my daughter which we asked to be replaced. Initially our server did a good job but after the food arrived didn’t check on us. I had to flag another lady down for a coffee refill as mine was cold. Most of the food was absolutely unremarkable. Between the four of us we had quite a variety. Eggs were fine, sausage link looked like the kind out of a Styrofoam container from the grocery, grits were blah, hash browns were ok. The only real standout of the meal were the pancakes. My husband’s blueberry pancakes were delicious and had ample amounts of real blueberries throughout. My son’s plain pancake was good as well. Next time I think I’d just stick with one of the many varieties of pancakes they offer. The rest is just average. We did like that our family of four could eat for just over $ 30.

First time here after the re-naming. Price for drinks-2.35 for a Coke. Too high for a family of four. Water, Please! My eggs were runny and cold as were my hash browns. Service was awful. Not impressed. Won’t be back.

I had the blueberry pancakes and they were delicious. Fresh blueberries and fluffy pancakes, yum! My better half had the Gyro and loved it. You’ll pay a little bit more for some breakfast items, but if it’s fresh and tastes great, it’s worth the price. I would’ve given 5 stars if the pancakes weren’t so small for the price I paid. They looked lost on the plate it was served on.

First timer… Fried fish sandwich: very old tasting oily and chewy, like cooked from the frozen stage. Cole slaw, tasted old with a metallic taste. Gyro: thinly sliced and cooked on flattop, very greasy and loaded in the pita upside down. Should be meat first everything else on top. I’ve had much better at another local diner . Cannoli: Really bad! Tasted as if it was put together days ahead and sat in the cooler. Soggy crust wrapped around a very thick(almost chewy) bland cream cheese filling. The filling had the consistency of rolled clay! Service: Considering the number of servers on duty the service was terrible, at least with the server we had. She never came back to check on us, had to ask another server for cream, napkins, water and straws. Had to ask another server for the cannoli. Terrible! I will say the breakfasts coming out of the kitchen looked pretty good. Maybe I can give it one more shot for the breakfast.

First time checking out the new place. Love the updates. Good service with a smile. Eggs were fresh and cooked right. Toast was thick and buttered. Home fries were excellent but could use more onions. Flapjacks were«the best I’ve ever had» according to my husband.

My family and I decided to give this place a second chance, it was previously called Rock city diner I believe… and the whole experience was below average then. Im glad we came back. all our entrees were very yummy… very tasty and Hot! Pancakes were steamy hot… that is a plus for us! Generous Portions and great affortable prices. Lots of choices on the menu. hard to decide… The remodeled place looks great, the service was excellent… very friendly and accomodaring. The only reason why this place is not getting a perfect score 5 stars… is because I did not like their coffee weak and tasteless… Good coffee is a must for me. Hopefully they get better coffee… Yes! Ill be back !
