Stopped here because it had Cuban food… When we saw the small fast food style location mmmm. But the food was not fast food, and was delicious, tasty, nicely plated, and not expensive. Two adults for $ 20 Would go back again and again but it is 2.5 hrs from home.

my parents couldn’t wait to share this gem of a place with my sister and me when we visited recently. holy cow, the food was amazing! the parents(who are vegan) and i ordered the gluten steak, and my sister, the chicken steak. once our food arrived, we didn’t talk much, i’ll tell you. it was outstanding. the sides(red beans for me, black beans for everyone else, rice and salad) were just delicious. i also had the yucca which was very good, but the plaintain! it was cooked just right, and i wanted more. the girls at the counter were so sweet, very helpful, friendly, and patient(we couldn’t make up our minds for a bit). yes ma’am, we’ll be going back the next time we visit.

Understand what this is. It is not a full service restaurant — you must order at the counter, get your own cold beverage, have a seat, and then the food is brought to you. The owners are Adventists, so they do not serve pork. This does not mean it is not a «genuine» Cuban restaurant, it means it is a restaurant, serving Cuban food, except for Pork. So if you must have Pork, don’t come here.(We always get Chicken and fish at ANY Cuban restaurant, and we are not Adventists.) Enough about Pork or lack of. Hubs got the Tilapia Sandwich with yellow rice, thought it was excellent? My BFF got the(non Pork} Cuban Sandwich, and she said it was very good. I got the Fried Chicken, which I thought was slightly over cooked. But the Plantains were the best I have ever had. Perfect. Iced Tea was very good, as was Café Con Leche. For what this is, it’s good, and we would go back. Also — they have lots of things we didn’t get to try. Guava Pastries. Milkshakes. Smoothies. Desserts. I would definitely consider stopping back just for a Café Con Leche and a Flan!

Went to this place since it is closer to me than ZaZa’s, but it is not as good(sorry). Bland and dry sandwiches. And so far, nothing has been better than that Malao deli in Kissimmee. Went to go another day before this and it seemed like a normal time of day but they were closed. Check the hours before visiting.

I ordered yesterday via Unilocal and asked for bringing it to the car, since my baby was a sleep. The staff was just standing around(there where 2 people in there). So after waiting for some time I walked in, a little worried and asked by the door if they could check if my food was done. The 2 ladies did not even move so I had to go to the counter. Quite unfriendly, no hello nothing. So I mentioned my request and she said she did not knew there was a request line. Ordered a meal, had to ask for my drink. Food, I ordered few things and I fed it to the dogs. The Sandwich meh, the plantains greasy and burned taste to it. The rest, no comment. If that is the best Cuban food in this area, I will not even try another.

I absolute love this place! The food is great and so is the service! I am vegetarian and I normally struggle to find something filling in Cuban food joints but not Herbers. I can get a veggie steak dish which is delicious or I can get the Cuban veggie sandwich(my personal fav). Both are super filling. They also have a great hot sauce and killer mojo. I highly recommend this place!

Great place we come here all the time. The Cubans are good, and you can go wrong with the shredded beef. Quick, affordable local Cuban place.

Seeing as i was now over 200 miles from cuba, i was a little hesitant to try this place. Why? F if i know, but i’m glad that i did. I had the palomilla steak combo(drink is seperate) and everything on the plate was just right — except for the black beans. not that they were bad, but there was something off about them. Even though there was a lot going on the plate, turn around here was pretty quick(maybe it’s a central florida thing?). This is a «fill your own drinks» kind of place. Nothing too exciting about the atmosphere. It would be good for a casual lunch — or breakfast. I took a peak at the breakfast menu and wished i had gotten there 20 monutes earlier, breakfast ends at 11:30.

It’s time I reviewed this awesome little spot. I have been coming to Heber’s since just about the time they opened, and I feel like it has gotten better and better with each visit. Cuban food can be hit or miss around Orlando. Where a lot of places in town get it wrong, Heber’s gets it right. The food is simple but delicious, and authentic. Nothing crazy or trendy here, just great Cuban food. You walk up to a counter to order where you will find a refrigerator cabinet stocked with the usual cans of coco rico, jupiña, agua de coco, iron beer, and of course, malta behind the register. You pay, seat yourself, and your food is brought out to you. The service is always fast, and the portions are generous. They serve breakfast, make batidos(shakes), Cuban coffee of course and I saw recently they have ice cream! Also, for those of you who know what Cuban spaghetti is(for those who don’t: yes, it’s a thing) you can get it at Heber’s! It is totally on par with Rey’s or Montes de Oca in Miami, and I have yet to see any other places in the area offer it.(Pizza too!) *Please note that as other reviewers have mentioned, Heber’s is closed on Friday nights and Saturdays as their owners are seventh-day Adventist. This is good news for vegetarians because they have an awesome homemade veggie«steak» on the menu that is sooooooo delicious. However, you won’t find pork on the menu here. STAYWITHME, PEOPLE! I know that a Cuban restaurant without pork may come as a shock to most of you, maybe even downright wrong, but trust me– you won’t miss it here. They do awesome vaca frita and the picadillo is my personal fave.

I’ve been here several times, right after the opened. This return visit was after they had expanded and I was happy to see they are doing so well in the area. There are plenty of places offering competition so they must be offering some really good food and service. We arrived and entered in to the line to order. The menus were easy to read on the big screens and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered a Cuban sandwich, and palomilla steak(and another flank steak I forget the name). All of which were tasty and good except for the Cuban sandwich which had stale bread. The sides were as to be expected, rice and beans, plantains, yuca. Well worth the visit. We will return!

Love the place. Very friendly and great food. Small karaōke for the weekend. Good place for family due to big tables. Love the Cuban Churrasco style beef.

Before you walk into the restaurant, you can smell the delicious Cuban food on the sidewalk. When you walk in, you order at the counter, pay, and seat yourself. Someone brings out your food to you. I ordered the churrasco with black beans, rice and tostones. My husband ordered vaca frita with the same sides as me. The food was so delicious and authentic, majority of the customers were Latino, that’s always a good sign. I was let down when there wasn’t lechon or any pork on the menu. The owners are Seventh Day Adventists and don’t prepare pork. The also have espresso, Cuban pastries, and ice cream if you care for dessert!

The summary — food, cafeteria feeling to all but one portion of the restaurant. The Quality And quantity of the food is the reason this isn’t 2 stars for us… And even that was a really rough decision. There is a small section of 3 or 4 booths on the west side of the restaurant that has a reasonable ambiance and acceptable lighting… The rest? Cafeteria fluorescent look and feel. Ummmm. Yuk. I ordered the shredded beef and Christine had the strip steak. We both ate portions of each other’s meal — what can I say… We’re chicks and wanted to taste both lol. We both agreed the shredded beef(#3 on the menu) was yummy. The strip steak was over marinades and aggressively over spiced… And yes we both love Cuban food and eat it regularly. The house hot sauce was simply amazingly good. I ordered he house salad and was told one came on the plate and didn’t need a side salad… Look at the picture! Even a lonely sprig of dandelion growing in the wild would have a hard time calling this a salad. I should have ordered the side salad. Yes on the picture the«salad» is the ¼ cup of lettuce his in under the slice of tomato. The 7 fries on my dinner platter were lonely so I grouped some with Christine’s 4 plantains. Ha! Black beans were awesome! Restaurant and restrooms were immaculately clean. Another disturbing item was quite a few large tv’s tuned to whatever channel plays the world’s funniest videos. Really? Really? Yup, I just can’t make this stuff up. «Meh» and no personally we would Not return.
