Good for happy hours and after hours business meetings. The area is huge with pool tables, darts and two bars. The one in the corner is not that busy sometimes. They have specials every day of the week. The prices on beer during happy hour is pretty reasonable. I ordered a fish and chips special on Monday. It came in a basket and the fish looked like hash browns. Usually, fish and chips in other pubs come served in a ceramic plate. The texture was not what I expected. Guess, it is another style of cooking. But, the dish was tasty and that is important. Usually come here atleast two to three times a month. The place is located near Rosslyn Metro and on the Georgetown shuttle and the circulator bus that goes to Dupont circle. Parking is available in a garage or the street. The garage is older style construction with many columns and cramped spaces. Could be a problem when getting the car out when you are tipsy. Your skills will really be tested if you have a bigger car.

Okay place, happy hour deals aren’t anything to write home about but I think I was just spoiled by the good deals in New Orleans. Wait staff aren’t the friendliest people but I also get that drunk people are pretty annoying. Wish they had another basketball game but hey it’s better than nothing. Shuffleboard is a little overpriced but I also don’t know what the average price is at other bars lol. Also you HAVE to get the fried mac and cheese bites, hands down the best thing on the menu.

Meetup recently had a meetup for this restaraunt and had the green room in the back. The staff was very courteous with a good selection of beers and wines to choose from. Their was a pretty good selection of food to choose from including the always favorite mac and cheese bites. Note: It’s a bit tricky getting to this place if you’re driving, the parking garage immediately next door is very cramped with pillars and charges $ 6 for first hour,$ 9 for 2 hours, and $ 12 for the night. Note: Arrive after 6 and good luck finding street parking because then it’s free.

Four stars for wing night: Sundays starting at 6, 35 cents each in multiple of 8. Best wings I’ve had in the DC area — Buffalo are authentic(right heat level coming from just Frank’s) and the BBQ are real nice(Sweet Baby Ray’s type sauce). They are big and meaty and not overcooked. $ 3 beer specials including a good IPA and Yuengling. What more do you want? I’ve never hung around late, but last time I was there the bartender said she had«seen some things» on wing night in the past. This intrigues me… maybe the competitive eaters show up later on in the evening?

I’m widely traveled and I have NEVER encountered such a situation as the one I am outlining here. A group of us had traveled from across the country to take training in VA. We went to this restaurant because every day they have a 50% off special on a specific item. The 1st time we went the special was on hamburgers and it was pretty good – we had prompt and courteous service from a waiter on that day and very much enjoyed our hamburgers. The following day which was on Thursday, April 28th, 2016, we also went to Continental because the Cuban Sandwich was the special for that day. Since we only had ½ hour for a lunch break as soon as we arrived and sat down, I saw the waitress talking with a fellow waiter without making a move to come over to us so I signaled to her to come over to take our orders as this place gets crowded. When the young woman came over, I explained to her the time constraints we were under. This young woman proceeded to tell me/us that it was rude to signal her and that SIGNALING isn’t done ‘HERE’. In the first place, the young woman saw us come in and was standing a way off chit chatting and had she come over, I would not have found it necessary to signal to her. I asked her how she would’ve like me to get her attention. Her reply was that she saw us come in and she WAS going to come over! Yes, but when? Another set of colleagues were sitting at another table and they got up to pay at the register because time was getting away and this waitress was also very rude to those colleagues by sending them back to their tables stating she would come over to collect. This waitress took her nice time going over; consequently, the colleagues were still sitting waiting as my group left the establishment and the colleagues were late getting back to the class. This young lady needs to be trained. It is very obvious she has a BIGCHIP on her shoulder and doesn’t enjoy being of service to people who contribute to her income. This young woman’s attitude would be a perfect fit with a warehouse position handling inanimate objects. I am not certain, but I believe I heard this young woman being called CHINA! If this is her name, then what an oxymoron that is because she’s more like the BULL in the China shop! MR. OWNER: This young woman needs to be told that the customer is to be treated with respect. There was nothing that was done deserving of that ATTITUDE and lecture! She is not a good representative of you or your establishment. An employee like her tells me there’s no training or, worse, a lack of employment criteria. Needless to say, we didn’t leave a tip and left her note on the invoice. It’s really a shame because the food was pretty good but it was not enjoyable after this waitress’ performance. Being government employees, we travel often to the DC area for work and to get training but we will definitely not be returning to the CONTINENTALPOOL&LOUNGE or recommended it to our friends and acquaintances.

I went here on a Friday night with 4 other friends. One of my friends has been here so many times, they already know who he is, so we got VIP treatment haha jk. But really, this is a chill place to go hang out at without feeling like its overcrowded and that you have to yell at your friend to hold a conversation. They have specials everyday, and Friday was ½ off wraps. I got the buffalo chicken wrap with tots. :) Pretty standard bar food. There’s plenty of pool tables, shuffleboards, a huge connect four, basketball, skeeball and ping pong. It’s a good casual place, I’d definitely come back again. Quick tip: they check your ID at the door! No one under 21 allowed.

This is a great place if you want to chill after work. especially close to the Le Meridian the Marriott or that crappy holiday inn… Happy hour until 8. Pool tables, shuffle board, ping pong, and a large(4′) connect4 game… board games too… bring your friends or make new ones. Enjoy.

We came here because it was close to our hotel. The staff is super nice. The beer and liquor selections are decent. The food is below average for what I think they are trying to do in the area. I get the sports theme and love it, but the food needs to be better. It might even help with a late night crowd during college basketball(which I don’t even watch)

Slow start, but all the better contests are come from behind stories. After our waiter found us alone waiting, wondering wanting, he took care of us with fast service. He left us alone sans the full mouthed«how is every thing» and as our glasses emptied he would pop up ‘literally’ from different directions ready to refresh our spirits. Food, we were happy with the edibles we ordered, fast to the table and tasty. The bar scene was active, people standing, sitting and enjoying conversations, the music not too loud and enough TVs to catch a glimpse of what’s playing. I would come back, recommend and enjoy. Worth a try.

This place needs some serious help. I was here on a Saturday and had a completely different experience than the happy hour weekday crowd. Continental has potential but it’s hidden in a corner of Rosslyn I’ve never seen in my life. Technically every place in Rosslyn is hidden because well… it’s Rosslyn. Let’s face it. Very few people voluntarily go to Rosslyn unless it’s for a paycheck. I really hate complaining at restaurants/bars but things were so bad here I simply couldn’t help it as we weren’t getting what we paid for on numerous levels. First impression. They state on their website that it’s 21+ after 5pm. The bouncer didn’t card anyone. He looked bored out of his mind. At least card people for some entertainment. The staff. Where do I begin? Our bartender was very nice and attentive but she still made it clear that she didn’t care too much. All of the staff members were complaining about hating their job and having nothing to do right in front of the customers. One guy was doing push ups behind the bar and said he felt like he gets paid to do one thing an hour. Not exactly what customers want to hear. He also kept feeding the jukebox with terrible music that can best be described as the music you didn’t want to hear at your 8th grade dance. Customers kept feeding the machine with songs they wanted to hear and he’d go over and trump their songs with his music. Whenever a customers song came on he made fun of it. The crown jewel was when ALLOFTHEEMPLOYEES(even the bouncer who should have been manning the door at 9pm!) went back into the kitchen for a good 5 minutes. During this time anyone could have just gone behind the bar and helped themselves or else gone straight to the register. When the staff finally reappeared they were all giggling. It was super weird. The games. The hoops game ate our money and when it did work it didn’t count our hoops. Awesome. The pics on their website of the skee ball machines? Totally not the same machines that are there now. One machine was completely dark without working lights but still worked. The other machine was aglow but ate your money and only dispensed the balls after feeding it money for two more credits. When we complained to the staff they sort of shrugged and said they knew the machines didn’t work. There’s a right way and a wrong way to solve the situation. They went for the wrong way. I suppose putting an «out of order» sign on every machine wouldn’t look good. Still, allowing machines to eat up the customers money isn’t cool! The pool and shuffleboard tables seemed fine. It seems like the theme for this place is where there’s a pro there’s a con. The staff yet again didn’t care about the product they’re putting out as the pucks were all messed up. One color had all the same weights while the other had a jumbled mess of different weights. Ugh. At least they can’t screw up pool! Ping pong ding dongs. They put the ping pong table in the worst possible location! Nearly everyone playing ping pong(no offense) wasn’t good at it. The ball kept bouncing onto shuffleboard tables and rolling under pool tables. Not a good location when the ping pong players are interrupting other games. The food. I have to admit they have a pretty good menu as well as some awesome food specials throughout the week and even on the weekend. Although«service industry» Sundays require you to bring a pay stub which is kind of weird and off-putting. Nonetheless, I wasn’t impressed with the food. Everything was way too salty. I got a grilled cheese sandwich and the cheese wasn’t even melted! My salad had way too many brown chunks of iceberg lettuce to make it edible. I pointed it out to the bartender and got another shrug. Asking me if I’d like another side in place of it would have been nice. Yet again, an employee chose the wrong way handle the situation. Conclusion: Continental would be so much better if they fixed their machines when they’re broken instead of waiting for the maintenance man to roll up. Games are a key element of your business! That’s half of why people come here in the first place! No one just stumbles into Rosslyn unless it’s for a reason! It’s like going to a barber shop that doesn’t have any scissors! Fix your machines and work on the staff. All of their smack talk made us customers feel really uncomfortable.

i dont know why folks give this place such a hard time. its at a convenient location(1.5 blocks north of the rosslyn metro) and it serves cheap booze and decent quality food at a cheap price when on special. seriously, set your expectations accordingly… its a pool hall with skeeball and not as grungy as your stereotypical pool halls in the city. most folks dont even play pool there, they go to drink and sometimes eat. there are plenty of tables throughout the place. happy hour specials are actually amazing and each day has a different food specials. HH runs till 8pm on weeknights too. if you want a cheap meal that’s pretty good actually(burgers are excellent) and cheap beer to wash it down, this is your place. gets a little bit crowded so service can get slow but i’ve never had a problem finding a table or a place to sit down.

Pretty cool place. It’s right next to Rosslyn’s Friday night Film Fest, so a good spot to walk to after the show. There is plenty of seating and fun stuff to do. Pool, ping pong, even a giant Connect Four are few of the games available. We were there with a group of 7 on a Friday night and had plenty of space, seating and opportunities to play some of the games.

There are mac and cheese bites. That is my favorite thing about this place. That, and they have board games. This place is cool in a «where the hell am I» sort of way. Pool tables, shuffle board, a different color painted on every wall, sparkly counter tops, and booths that make you feel like you’re in a spaceship. Oh, and barbie exploded in the women’s bathroom.(Super curious to know what the men’s bathroom looks like) There’s a pretty good beer selection, and the prices are decently priced for the area. It’s never overly crowded, but just crowded enough so it doesn’t feel creepy to be in there.(It is a bit creepy outside when it’s really late though). Pretty interesting place to check out if you’re in the area and like bar sports.

My office organized a happy hour for me another colleague who’s getting married soon. It was my first time at Continental even though I work just a couple of blocks away. I’m glad I got to check out the place. The highlights are the games(free on Tuesdays for ladies) and happy hour appetizers.

Walking into Continental, you would think you just stepped into a bar from the 1970s. The décor is so far outdated that it’s confusing and laughable. The entire place is painted in shades of weird deep blue and oranges. It definitely has a dark feel to it, even though its situated on a corner with lots of windows. It has a strangely futuristic space-agey vibe to it as well, as though the designer was living in the 60s or 70s and tried to(wrongly) imagine what bar décor might be like in the 21st century. Very odd. This has been the only bar walking distance from my office for a few yrs, so it’s the go-to joint for after-work festivities. Drink specials are pretty good during happy hours. The food is just standard dive bar food — not-too-terrible sandwiches and wraps and burgers and fries. They have a few delicious indulgent items like fried mac & cheese and cheese fries, if you’re not counting calories. The wings are also actually really good! Gets crowded with the work suit-and-tie crowds for weekday lunches and weekday happyhours, but otherwise doesn’t really seem to be a happening spot. If you work nearby, it’s worth hitting for a happy hour but otherwise don’t go out of your way. The shining star of Continental is the game section! Around 6 pool tables and 3 shuffleboard tables, as well as a HotShot basketball shooting game and skee ball.(Reminds me a tad of Spider Kelly’s in Clarendon — similar food quality, games, and people). The pool tables and shuffleboard get completely full with a waiting list during weekday happy hours though, so if that’s what you’re coming for specifically, get there early or be prepped to wait.

Great place to hang out a play pool/pong. I’ve never ordered food there, but the drinks have always been delicious — Really nice bartenders. $ 20 an hour for pool, which I don’t think is bad at all. The interior could definitely use an upgrade, the décor is a bit old, but it’s certainly a nice place to relax and not feel overwhelmed.

Met a friend for a drink and dinner midweek. The place was packed and hopping with young people. Very party atmosphere. The prices are Resonsible considering the area. The martini was great but they don’t have Belvedere vodka. I got a grilled cheese and it comes with fries or salad. The grilled cheese was ok. The side salad was great and I’ll order a big salad next time. The grilled cheese also came with some black bean salad; I dumped it on my green side salad. Yummy! My friend got the burger and he said it was good. I tasted the fries and they were tasty and worth stealing more. I love the red sparkly bar.
