We made our most recent visit to Sultan Grill on a Saturday night. Before the Broncos/Patriots AFC championship game. You know, 24 hours before Bill and Tom and Gronk went home with their under-inflated footballs to watch the Super Bowl in their home theaters. Or more likely their mansion theaters. The young woman who waited on us was very pleasant and wore a hijab. And a Bronco tee-shirt. As the game turned out, I think she brought us excellent karma. Or am I mixing my world religions? No matter, it was a very pleasant assimilation of cultures — the kind we all wish there was more of. And, she brought us excellent food. We had the lamb shank and meat combo(lamb, chicken and kafta kabobs). Other options include shawarmas, curries, barg, and of course, a number of vegetarian options — falafel, moussaka, hummus and baba ghanouj. Dinners come with a salad, rice, and hummus with pita. Other Unilocalers have commented accurately that the hummus is delicious. Next time I think I’m going to try the Bamya(Syrian okra cooked with lamb meat, tomato sauce, pomegranate sauce, fresh cilantro, garlic, and spices) — sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it? The value at Sultan Grill is good — dinners are mainly in the $ 12 to $ 15 range and portions are generous. And be sure to top your meal off with a Turkish coffee. Just be sure you don’t drink down too far and get a mouthful of sludge. Atmosphere at Sultan Grill is OK but a little spartan in the big picture. If you want good Middle Eastern food and great atmosphere, go to Ali Baba in Golden — the«upper room» there is pretty much unrivaled in terms of atmosphere. Nonetheless, Sultan Grill brings good Middle Eastern food and good value served by nice people to Arvada, and that’s nothing to sneeze at. My only complaint is the bowls of ketchup packets at each table — I really would like a little more Middle Eastern atmosphere than the Damascus Burger King. But ketchup or no ketchup, I’ll be back to Sultan Grill. In fact, maybe next Saturday night before the Super Bowl. It worked last week, and a little extra karma against Cam and the boys couldn’t be a bad thing.

Nice service. The hummus is very good, as is the grilled quail. However, the lamb curry was gross. Three inside of the restaurant could really use a good cleaning.

The food here is excellent. The shawarma and gyros, lamb and hummus are all excellent. The side salad that comes with entrée is a bit plain but otherwise, yum!

Discovering a hummus from another restaurant that matches or comes close to Sultan Grill’s outstanding texture, flavor, and presentation, would be welcome, but not necessary. Ideally other hummus would compete, and would not disappoint as consistently as Sultan Grill’s hummus out-tastes any other I have tried, store or Establishment. A humble dish, the chicken kabob is succulent, moist, delicious meat and peppers grilled to perfection, on a bed of rice that rivals suave setting competition’s basic take on the essentials of a good meal: quality ingredients cooked to perfection, every time. When I am presented with a lunch or dinner opportunity to introduce family or friends to middle eastern cuisine, I would take them here, without a second thought. Astamtae, you will thank yourself for giving this humble restaurant a chance to put your conception of quality cuisine to the test.

This is great middle eastern food in a very unassuming location. The people were friendly, food was served fast, and was quite tasty! Some of the best hummus I’ve had in a while!

One of my favorite restaurants! Try the Dolmas and the Cheese Sambusek. The falafel are incredibly good, and the gyro and shawarma are both amazing also. Get them in entrée form and it’s usually enough for two. You really can’t go wrong

Been going here for years and good place to eat when you want to mix things up. Place could use an update on the interior but doesn’t take away from food and service. Recommend the chicken shawarma.

I love this place! Their food is amazing and I always receive friendly service! The facility could use some updating but if your looking for good mom and pop Mediterranean food I highly recommend sultan grill! Also the server is sweet and attentive and deserves a raise!

I don’t quite understand all of the high ratings on here. I read the reviews and expected to have a great lunch — but was extremely disappointed. I ordered a greek salad with chicken shawarma and a gyro sandwich. The salad leaked all in the to-go bag and was drenched with oil & a lemony vinegar. I asked for no tomatoes — but they loaded them on there anyway. The chicken was decent but nothing to write home about, especially not worthy of the gushing praise from others. I have made better seasoned chicken at home. The gyro sandwich meat was tasty — that was probably the best part of the whole meal. I ended up picking it off the soggy pita bread and eating it plain. Overall, really not impressed and will likely not go back.

We’ve been here several times over the past year and we just love this place! The chicken shawarma is excellent, and the hummus and garlic sauce are the best. We’ve just done hummus, and garlic sauce take out with pita bread on occasion. The prices are good for what you get.

Visited again for brunch. Ordered the Chai tea again, and my partner ordered one as well. Yep. Was wonderful. Sweet, but not too sweet. Perfect balance of spices. Yumm. We had the hummus appetizer, and was so happy with our decision. I generally don’t like to order hummus because generally places make it with too much tahini, too much garlic, or their own concoction of hummus. This was a perfect balance of chick peas, tahini, garlic. Last time I had the gyro entrée that came with rice. I went for the gyro sandwich this time and it did not disappoint. Good flavor. The service was tops again. I’ll be sure to visit again to get my fix of Chai. This place seems to know how to use their spices. Places like this are few and far between.

Yum! I’m a hardcore Garbanzo fan, but this just became my new favorite for fast and reasonably priced middle eastern food. They give you a lot of food so we definitely had leftovers. The hummus, baba ghanouj, and warm pita bread was excellent! We ordered the King Combo and Chicken Shawarma which we both enjoyed. I LOVED the yogurt sauce! Amazing! We will definitely be back soon!

Crazy fast for take out, good food, good prices. The people are very friendly. We’ve been getting take out from them every since we moved into the neighborhood and have been very happy every time. Great to have them in our neighborhood and will continue to be regulars!

First impression: very pleasant. We weren’t all that hungry… Just wanted to eat something light. Can’t comment too much on the food since all we had was gyro and the cheese sabeuck, and they were very tasty and well flavored. The guy waiting on us was very friendly. At the end, he gave us a free order of baklava. We will definitely be back and will update on more food comments!

My fiancé is half Lebanese so moving from Houston I wanted to find a Middle Eastern resturant to remind her of home. I’d have to say this was way better than any place we had ever been to in Houston. Will definately be going back!

The hubs and I came here for a pre movie lunch date. We came late afternoon, during what I like to call«dunch»(dinner/lunch). We were the only ones in the restaurant so we got very prompt service. I opted for the chicken Shawarma and the hubs got the mixed grill. We started with hummus and pita followed by an app of fava beans. The fava beans came whole in a yogurt sauce. I haven’t had them served that way before. Usually I’ve had them puréed which I like a little better. My chicken was very good. The garlic sauce/paste was so good mixed in with the chicken and rice. The hubs order of mixed grill was also delicious. I liked the ground beef skewer the best while he liked the lamb and chicken skewers the best. For dessert I got a slice of baklava which was a little dryer than other baklavas which I liked since it wasn’t a sticky gooey mess.

Everything I’ve had here is delightful. This is AUTHENTIC Middle Eastern cuisine. It’s never too crowded here and the service is always prompt, especially in the afternoon. The chai tea is INCREDIBLE and the hummus is great too. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for something different.

Always great food and great service. I love the veggie platter! It’s a large portion of all the vegetarian staples. The gyro meat is tasty, but the sandwich portion is really skimpy.

We wanted something Middle Eastern and since Sultan Grill is nearest from the workplace, to Sultan Grill we went on Tuesday October 30th2012. Dinner Time: 19:15hrs. When we first arrived to this establishment there is another couple dining in. This establishment seemed so «dead», so «quiet»… Is this a good sign? Or … Hubs opt for the Lamb Curry($ 11.95) while I opt for the Lamb Shank($ 14.95). Our order comes with Pita Bread, Rice, Salad and Hummus. With all these, for the pricing of food and portion, it looks reasonable. We also ordered the Cheese Sambusek($ 4.75) and Grilled Mushrooms($ 4.95). I was surprised with Hubs choice of wanting to have Curry of all dishes. Our order comes out piping hot. A good sign in my books since I dont like any of my food order to be cold. The service was efficient and prompt. Perhaps there arent anyone else dining in at that hour. Our Salad and Hummus comes to our table. Salad comes with Lettuce, Cucumber, Tomatoes sprinkled with pepper and salt and a light dressing of somekind, nothing fancy. Hummus was just A-OKAY. Pita Bread Warm. I like the Cheese Sambusek. Maybe since I like anything cheesy, and with this Cheese Sambusek it reminds me of «Crab Cheese Wantons». but with different fillings of Feta Cheese. I wish I could have more. Hubs like the Cheese Sambusek too. Yes, The Grilled Mushroms comes out piping hot. So be warned. The Grilled Mushrooms was a let down since for one, in the menu it was stated its marinated in special sauce and seasonings. What special sauce? What seasonings? All I can taste was salt and pepper. *Sad Face* Next comes along our main entrees… To my surprise when Hubs tasted his order of Lamb Curry, he LIKES it alot. liking it alot until he said this Lamb Curry deserved 4 stars. One of the Best Curry he ever tasted in a Middle Eastern Establishment, Hubs whispered. Hmmm… I think Hubs is just hungry at that time and since the weather is a little chilly for him, everything he ate was good. Yes, the Lamb pieces are tender. The Lamb Curry comes with Carrots, Tomatoes, Onions and Green Bell Peppers. But personally, that’s all I think about the Lamb Curry at Sultan Grill. Now for my main Entrée of Lamb Shank. Standard Lamb Shank. The Lamb Shank is tender. Yes there are HUGE Chuncks of Potatoes, and Carrots in the Lamb Shank, broth was just A-OKAY. From the look of it, if I am not mistaken, the Lamb Shank was slightly on a smaller size as compared to other Lamb Shank dishes I ordered at other establishments. Rice has the hint of saffron. Overall Dining Experience: A-Okay with 3 stars in my books. With tax and tips our dinner cost $ 50. Left the establishment at 20:10hrs Might return when needed and perhaps my review might differ in the future. Another Halal establishment to consider in this part of neighborhood. @1/2013
