Green Tea Sushi is by far the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to. I am never dissapointed. The quality of the food is outstanding. Something unique is that they also carry Asian Fusion Entrees such as Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef and my personal favorite Yuzi Almond Shrimp. Jumbo shrimp coated in a sweet citrus mayo sauce. If you’re in the area make sure to stop by for a great experience and don’t forget to check the specials menu on the sushi bar.

Green Tea is my favorite Sushi restaurant in Asheville. It is reliable, friendly and delicious! I honestly don’t know what else to say because this is the only sushi restaurant I go to in our town(tried others and you just don’t get the quality and service you will find here). Whether you eat raw fish, or want some hibachi dish this is the place you want to go.

Located in an area close to the Westgate Shopping Center, Green Tea is a intimate restaurant serving an array of traditional Japanese entrees ranging from fresh and delicious sushi, teriyaki and hibachi dishes, fried rice, and noodles. Upon walking in Green Tea, I was greeted by a very friendly hostess who promptly seated my partner and I at a booth located across from the sushi bar. I looked around, noticing the décor is traditional Japanese, featuring koi fish, artfully crafted dragon sculptures, and other Eastern symbols I have little knowledge about. However, one thing that I was not very fond of was how dim the lighting was! Regardless, the sushi bar makes up for the improper lighting because it is by far the star of the show! You can see all the fresh fish, ginger, vegetables, yummy sauces and other delicious delicacies used to prepare sushi. It definitely captivated my attention. After looking over the large menu, I(of course) ordered some fresh sushi. I chose the tuna roll and yellowtail sashimi and my boyfriend chose the hana maki roll. The service was very quick and we waited maybe 10 minutes for our sushi to be prepared. The sashimi was delicious and extremely fresh, however, the tuna roll was a little bit disappointing. Additionally, my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed his sushi roll, it was HUGE! Two weeks later I returned to Green Tea and ordered the tuna sashimi and the crab roll. YUM! Both were delicious. I haven’t tried any of Green Tea’s speciality rolls, however, they have a huge variety that I am excited to try upon returning in the future! Overall, I really like Green Tea and I plan on coming back to try more of their sushi menu options and maybe even some of their other entrees. Among some of the other sushi restaurants located in Asheville, Green Tea is definitely one of the better options out of the others that I have visited. Moderately priced, you get what you pay for and the staff are friendly and professional. I give Green Tea a thumbs up and it is definitely worth trying if you haven’t had the chance!

This is the best Sushi I have found in Asheville. It is always fresh. My favorites are the red dragon roll, Cani Naruto, steamed shrimp shumai, and the tuna tataki. Tony is the owner and he’s a perfectionist!

Delicious! We came to Asheville for a visit and after checking some of the reviews on Unilocal, settled on the Green Tea. What an excellent choice, if I do say so! The service was spot on. Friendly, attentive and courteous. Isaac was a delight. The sushi was delicious. I had the Sweetheart Roll. Presentation was an A-plus, and the fish was fresh. My husband had the hibachi, as he is not a fan of sushi. The menu offered many selections to satisfy both our palates. We had a wonderful evening and if your lucky enough to live here or just visiting, this should be one of your stops. It was great!

Jamie is one of the most excellent servers I have ever had. In my life. At any restaurant. She’s super kind, witty, and attentive. I have been here four times now and have enjoyed the sushi for lunch and dinner. I also think they coy pond is really fun and the décor is great!

After driving past this place for the better part of 8 years and dismissing it solely because of its location next to Sams Club, fate would finally bring me here tonight. And I must say I was wrong to have read this book by its cover. I was actually very impressed with just about every aspect of the restaurant. The ambience is really cool, and the upbeat music creates a positive energy in the room. The staff were super friendly, the sushi is well presented and for the little I had tonight was good, and our entrees were quite delicious. And the portions of the entrees were quite large so I’ve got another serving of this Mongolian beef lined up for lunch tomorrow, which isn’t a bad thing at all! I’ve secretly wanted to have a Sushi boat ever since I first saw one 25 years ago, and I think this will be the place I make it happen. Heck I think I’ll do it for my birthday here with a group of friends.

My husband and I drove 1 hour and 48 mins to come eat here. Why? Because of the positive ratings on here, plus I wanted something close to authentic Japanese sushi. But, WOW was I wrong!!! I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could. Let me help others who would decide to come here in the future. First of all, the pictures shown on here are lies! A quick look at this restaurant’s exterior is very shabby and not like the pictures shown at all. The owner/manager walked past by while entering without a greeting and while exiting I even saw him looking at us but no greeting, smile or thanks… Wow… okay. Anyways, the waitress sat my group down and came back asking if water was fine without even asking if we wanted any drinks, uh, ok??? Why would you just assume that we wanted water? Ok, About their sushi; expecting it to be like the pictures… Uh, wrong again. It was pathetic. The plating was plain and the sushi was sloppy. I’ve eaten way better sushi and they didn’t charge a lot like this place. For desert, we got green tea moochi ice cream and tempura cheesecake. Ugh! It didn’t even taste like green tea and the cheesecake was half frozen! Ugh… Yeah, I could rant about this restaurant so much more. All I have to complete everything is; don’t even eat here it’s not worth your time or money. I’m very, very disappointed plus it was on my birthday too.

We stopped here with our 4 kids for lunch on our way home from the mountains. We spent $ 108, and it was worth it! The specialty rolls weren’t cheap, but were made well and the ingredients were fresh. I recommend the Green River Roll and Euphoria Roll. I had the seafood basket that included salmon, mussels, oysters, shrimp, scallops, and veggies in a white wine sauce. Delicious! The service was also good; our waitress was prompt and didn’t hover. We sat in the bar area– not sushi bar — and it was a bit dark. We will definitely put this in the«come back again» bucket.

This place was clean and nice. It has a very trendy feel. The sushi was delicious!!! I didn’t quite understand the need for techno music In the background, but hey, maybe I’m old. The servers were nice, but not overly attentive. The place has a that too cool for you vibe. But we would prob go back for the sushi. The price for regular rolls is very reasonable, the specialty rolls can get a little pricy. I also felt like most of the specialty rolls included spicy something, which I find annoying.

I wish I could give Green Tea Japanese Restaurant TENSTARS instead of just five! What a GREAT place to enjoy fabulous sushi and sashimi! The service was exceptional. The staff was courtesy and professional. Even other servers besides ours came over and greeted us and smiled! The food was superb! All the fish was super fresh. We are from Boston and eat sushi and sashimi a few times a week so we know great Japanese food when we find it. Try Green Tea! You will not be disappointed!

I frequent this place and the sushi is always great and the staff always friendly. I would give it a higher rating if it weren’t for the unprofessional manager I witnessed today. He was yelling at the wait staff right in front of me for not clearing a table that had been empty for 10 seconds(he literally passed the people on his way to the table as they were leaving). I don’t believe there are many reasons to yell at the wait staff and definitely don’t believe it is in any way professional to yell at them in front of customerS(I was not the only one in the restaurant). This incident bothered me so much it spurred me to write my first Unilocal review. Like I said, sushi is great, prices are reasonable, and the wait staff is crazy friendly, especially my server today, Amanda! I will certainly return, I could just do without ever seeing that manager again.

«Wow» was the word of the night. We came to Asheville on vacation and surfed the web for some good sushi joints and Unilocal brought us to Green Tea. It wasn’t too far from our hotel which I thought was great and it was easy to find with their big neon sign and everything. I thought the two stone lions beside the entrance was a little bit tacky but once inside, it was jaw dropping beautiful. Felt like I was transported to Japan they have a koi fish pond underneath your feet and a small glass statue of Buddha right when you walk in and scattered around the restaurant were latterns with Japanese writings on them. Over all the décor had me in the mood for some sushi. The inside is clean and nice and they also have outdoor seating as well. The staff seems very polite and our waitress was a sweetheart. The service and food was quick and fast and finger licking delicious. My best friend and I ordered the boat for two and we devoured the whole thing. Sushi is FRESH!(Every sushi lover would love it here) at the end of our dinner, we ordered some dessert and the waitress recommended the tempura ice cream. In honor of the place I asked her if they could make green tea tempura ice cream, something that wasn’t listed on the menu(what a surprise-they should have it) and to my request, she came back with a giant scoop of fried green tea ice cream covered with whip cream and drizzles of chocolate(still drooling just thinking about it). We left the restaurant with big grins and happy stomachs. Just simply, Wow. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

I became very disappointed after eating there for years when I found that what they were serving folks as «red snapper» was really farm raised tilapia, YUCK! I’ve also found two other«Japanese» restaurants here in Asheville are doing the same thing. I’ll never go back!

My sushi«go to» spot in AVL! We are Green Tea Sushi at least every other week. I could start down the menu with description of each item, but I will just leave it at this: I have dined at Green Tea many many times and have never had anything but a wonderful experience! Setting, service, drinks, sushi… All superb!

Ok, so traveling this is my favorite sushi place. Great drink prices and the atmosphere is wonderful. You feel so welcome and never had to wait to get a table. So easy to find and we’ll worth the experience. So good we came here twice in a 5 day span of visiting Asheville. Highly recommended for any sushi lover.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. We came here on the recommendation of other Unilocal users and we’re not let down at all. VERY good pricing on drinks and food. The sushi rolls are huge, portions are very reasonable for the price. Couldn’t find one negative thing to say about this restaurant.

After looking around for a place to eat late on a Sunday evening, I came across this place. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed with the service. Very friendly staff, and great food. I eat sushi a lot and I rate the sushi here quite highly. Great find — give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for years. Finally, on a recent trip, my brother, Dad and I went for lunch. They have some really good lunch deals, 2 rolls for ~$ 7/$ 8, 3 rolls for ~$ 10 or so(full rolls, not the small ones) and some bento boxes around the same price. My bro and I ordered the 3 roll lunch special. I was surprised by the amount of food, which was impressive. But the rolls themselves were not anything spectacular. They were good, but ordinary. Which is to be expected during a lunch special. I did however see some specula rolls going to tother tables, so I will update once I go back to try them. I was most impressed by the bento box. It came with so much food: rice, dumplings, California roll, entrée(dad had the mango chicken), and salad. I am definitely interested in going back. If you find yourself in the area, I recommend stopping in. PS: The remodel looks great. I didn’t see it before, but I have heard that it looks much better now.
