I find coffee to be essential when gearing up to watch certain OSF performances. And that is not meant with any disrespect to the performers. But, if you haven’t had a great night’s sleep or just drove down from Portland that day to catch a show, sometimes fatigue creeps in [1]. While all three OSF theatres offer concessions, they are jam packed and I don’t have time to order and gulp down hot coffee during the brief intermissions, so having a walk-​up coffee window nearby is brilliant. The open and close during the day corresponding with the matinée and evening show times.
This location was formerly run by Noble Coffee Roasters, but during the past month changed over to another local roaster, Hilltop Coffee. Service was friendly and I’m happy to see the space isn’t dormant. Since my favorite coffee houses are farther away from the theatres, I’m guaranteed to stop here at least once on every trip.
[1] Especially problematic when attending a show in the Thomas Theatre when you are feet from the actors and I do wonder if they keep a running total of audience members nodding off during their monologues?
