This was one of the best steakhouses I’ve been to in a long time. My friends and I had the Kobo steak, the Prime Filet and the smaller filet. All were cooked to perfection and oh so tender! The sides of whipped potatoes and asparagus were also wonderfully prepared. The cocktails were exquisite and the red wine we shared — from a great wine list — were really awesome. We had key lime pie for dessert, and I hadn’t tasted a key lime pie this good since years ago in Fort Lauderdale of all places. The place is warmly designed in red velvet and dark wood, with a really cool marble bar area when you first walk into this small house. The only downside to the experience was a waiter who was a bit standoffish and a maitre d’ who walked around and talked to some folks but not to us. A great touch would have been a welcome to each of his guests, just not with people whom he knew.

Ate here for dinner while on a business trip and it was probably the best steak I’ve ever had, so tender and excellent flavor… I will be eating here again on my next visit.

I’ve tried all the top restaurants in Aspen, and this is one of my favorites! Delicious prime quality steaks, awesome side dishes, fresh seafood, and amazing desserts! Highly recommend the cowboy ribeye!

Five weeks into a ten week stay in Aspen and Steakhouse 316 is my favorite dinner spot so far. In fact… I’ve already been twice. First for a boys dinner and second for a date. Both times the steaks were cooked perfectly and so so flavorful. And being from Chicago, home of some of the best steakhouses in the world, I know a good steak. The chop of the day was a 2lb tomahawk ribeye. We split it between 3 guys and it was just right. Salads and sides were all amazing as well. Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, risotto, and the tomato salad were all highlights.

We came here based off on Unilocal reviews. We were compressed between 2 tables for 4. My husband and I were seated at a table for two. I took the inside seat, and my body was cleaved. I was uncomfortable because my body was tilted. I inquired for different seating. The gentleman responded that we can either stay where we were seated or be seated at the bar. There were empty tables in the restaurant. I couldn’t understand why bar was the only option. We left shortly after; we went to a 4 ½ star restaurant where I ordered steak and a bottle of wine that I was hoping to have for dinner tonight… And be treated nicely.

5 stars had it not smelled like farts. 3 stars for comping drinks to diffuse the sitch. We ordered drinks and ran because it smelled like sewage at our table. The waiter acted like it was a normal thing and acceptable that we leave. Such a shame because it was my first restaurant experience in Aspen.

What can I say? Awesome steaks. When considering the optional sauces to accompany them, pick one for the table. They give you enough for 4 – 6 people. As for dessert, that’s easy. The bourbon bread pudding with salted caramel and white chocolate sauce is our favorite dessert of any place in Aspen. It will be enough for 3 – 4 people and is TODIEFOR! We will always be sure to visit Steakhouse 316 whenever we are in Aspen.

We had an excellent experience at Steakhouse 316. My wife had the Sage and Apple soup because she wanted to try something new. She absolutely loved it. I had the house salad which was a large salad with lots of fresh greens and a nice balance of dressing. Our entrées where the 6oz Fillet and the Cowboy Ribeye. These were right up there with the best steaks we have had. The temperatures were perfect. They rivaled Mortons, St. Elmos, and Gene & Georgetti. We opted for sides of asparagus and garlic whipped potatoes. The blonde ale from Aspen Brewing rounded out or dinner choices. We will definitely include SH316 into our plans during future trips to Aspen.

Best steak in the state if you ask me. My buddies, Dylan, Alex and I went in last night for a birthday feast for myself. I could not be more pleased I wish I could give 6 stars haha. My longtime friend Rob was our server and was phenomenal as always. I had the 24oz porterhouse with shitaki demi. Literally took me to heaven and back. The manager Evan was awesome, super nice guy and very knowledgeable in all realms of the restaurant, especially the culinary process. Thanks again guys for making my birthday dinner unforgettable!!!

Wonderful experience. Had a party of 10, and they put us in a very nice private area. Service was excellent. Drinks were delicious, and the food was fantastic. Mushroom risotto was an incredible side.

I came here with a party of 10, and everyone agrees that this is fantastic food. I rank this place to be as good as Mastros Steakhouse. All steaks were cooked to request, and flavorful. The staff was attentive and helpful. We ordered 7 different sides and several different sauces — and it was all delicious. I recommend the corn chowder clam chowder, prime filet, Mac and cheese, and mushroom risotto

Nice intimate space with a menu focused on meat. I heard raves from a dinner guest who ordered the lamb chops and another who had the flat iron steak. My standard filet was certainly good, just not exceptional. One thing I found really odd was that they charged extra for individual sauce choices here.(Might that might have added the WOW factor to my entrée?) I would not recommend the lettuce wedge salad which came with what I’d describe as a light dressing. Service was excellent and people dining here were noticeably friendly. The have a full bar service as well.

If you want a prime steak and you are in Aspen, this would be the place. Great wine list. Great Steaks. Professional Service. Well appointed, dimly lit and with an ambiance that is very fitting with the Aspen feel. Relaxed luxury. I could go on about the steak, the potatoes, the sides and wine — but if you are looking for a Capital Grille, Ruths, Harbor Sixty, Smith and Wolensky, et al steakhouse, but with a more intimate, smaller scale yet upmarket feel — this is perfect. A great Saturday night meal after a long day on Snowmass. The only drawback was the somewhat uppity sommelier. I like Brunello, and really couldn’t give a shit what her ‘strong’ preference with the RibEye would be, I will have the 2010.

If you want super expensive slightly above average food go here. The wine list was ridiculously overpriced. The best value was the mega chunk of bread pudding for $ 15 which was enough for a party of 6 to share. The service wasn’t great. Our bread, plates and knives were whisked away while we were still eating it and when we said we still wanted bread we got 2 slices without plates or knives. The wrong steaks were set in front of the wrong people. I’ve never been to a steakhouse where the sauce cost extra. The Cognac Peppercorn Demi sauce at $ 5 arrived in a large gravy boat. I expected a demi sauce to be rich and slightly thick but this was just a runny, overly peppered sauce and many of us at the table didn’t use much of the sauce. The steaks were tasty and flavorful though and cooked just right. The steaks were served in cast iron skillets which made it hard to eat. The sides were meager in portion, it cost about $ 1 for each thin spear of asparagus. The loaded twice baked potato and the brussels sprouts were the best of the sides we ordered. If you eat here hopefully you have a flashlight app on your phone or an actual flashlight. Tables around us also had to use their phone lights to see. The place is dark. Maybe the food would have been more enjoyable if we could see what we were eating.

I give this place zero stars! First of all my reservation is screws up! I made plans for the week of Valentines. They call me tonight to confirm. Ummm. I’m not even in town. Instead of they to solve the issue. This girl starts arguing with me. The worst part how rude she is. No class whatsoever! Just keeps running her mouth and doesn’t listen. Where did they find this girl? I thought this was high end eatery. Pls hire people with more class to answer the phone and better customer service! You will not get my business. I bet I’ll get better customer service at Taco Bell!

Wowzers. Steak isn’t a steak unless it comes from a steak house. This place is no joke. Seriously, the salads were even delicious. All sides were amazing and I don’t even need to explain how crazy delicious the steak was. This place has great service and an amazing menu. If you like steak or if your man, you need to come here and eat some meat!

Friendly knowledgable staff. Extremely high quality ingredients. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere. I had the American Kobe 6oz filet. Cooked to perfection(medium-rare). A slight char on the outside with a flavorful and juicy centre. My wife and I agreed that this was the best Aspen had to offer in terms of culinary adventures.

Hands down one of the best steakhouses I’ve ever been to. If you blindfolded me, spun me around 32 times, and plopped me down in a booth, I might think I was in the middle of a steakhouse in Midtown.(Not taking into account the two-day car ride or the very telling flight, commercial or otherwise.) I don’t sit down for an authentic steak dinner very often, but when I do, it is usually done right, and this place did not disappoint. The special of the evening was the 8oz Bone-In Fillet, which I got without hesitation. Anything bigger would be too much, and anything smaller likely does not exist.(There was a 6oz Kobe but let’s pretend it was 8oz too.) There were a lot of other cuts, including a 27(or so) ounce massive something cut, which nobody got but would be a treat for someone that was really, really hungry. Rare is rare and steak is steak and rare steak is the way to have steak.(That’s a mouthful.) When mine came out… it was definitely rare, definitely awesome. Red wine — we got a bottle of Malbec for the table. At $ 52, it was nicely priced and was plenty for 5 people, with obligatory slow sipping.(work dinner) Rewinding a little, we got the onion ring tower for an app, which was best dipped in their homemade steak sauce. In fact, I’m pretty sure most food items would taste better with this sauce on it. Sides — we got pretty much all of them. The creamed spinach seemed to be a fan favorite for most, and along with the potatoes and veggies, everyone had a full plate. The sides are big, but with a group of 4+ that share a common affinity for one in particular, you might want to invest in two. The meal itself wasn’t cheap, but places like this rarely are. Should you find yourself in Aspen, this is a must try.
