Lovely restaurant. EXCELLENT service. We had the best waiter! Ethan was great, as was the rest of the staff. Will return again. Food was tasty. Was very impressed with the friendliness and cleanliness of this restaurant.

Another wonderful meal at Silver Salmon Grille! Valentine’s Day dinner with dear friends! Rolland greeted and seated us and Ethan fine tuned our meal! The Pesto chicken breast was excellent as was the artichoke heart appetizer. The music was the perfect level and we could hear each other in spite of it being a full house tonight. Kudos to SSG! We will be back!

A few days ago my partner and I visited this restaurant… We walked in at 530 and there was one other table sat. The server was a little overbearing and misgendered my partner immediately. That turned the lovely dinner sour. The décor is very outdated and the food was okay, way overpriced for what you get. My partner got the crab cakes and I got the coconut prawns. She said the prawns were far more flavorful then her bland crab cakes. She said the aoli was the best thing on the plate but she didn’t pay 26 $ for aoli. I did have their raspberry lemon drop which was lovely! Only reason why two stars. We we’re laughing the whole time wondering if we wondered into a tourist trap. 75 dollars later… Wont return.

Got seated right away but then waited over ten minutes to order drinks. Food is not worth the price, especially the steak and lobster. I wouldn’t go back here, out dated and for the price i can go somewhere with a view and better food. Disappointing, had high hopes.

This restaurant is a great example of what«doing it right» does for your reputation. I’ve gone here for years and the quality of food and service has always been above the usual standards of both. I had a Cobb Salad, my wife had the Salmon, petite portion, both dishes were very well prepared and served. The waiter was a very professional gent who obviously took his job seriously, never missed a beat, everything ordered arrived on time, hot, fresh, tasty, what a great place to bring that family or a nice getaway for a couple. I see some bad reviews here but I can honestly say I had a very satisfactory experience. Maybe the negative Unilocaling helped the owners make necessary changes.

Got seated quickly but then were forgotten. No drink order nothing. Servers saw us but still nothing. Luckily you can write on the butcher paper covered tables.,“we waited 15 minutes and got zero service.” Was the message we left. We got up and the hostess or owner actually said«thank you» on our way out…

Had such high hopes for this place after being reffered here by locals and reading some great reviews. Food is sub par for the price. Atmosphere was quaint. Server sat us next to a huge table when the place was empty which made it difficult to have a conversation.

9−16−15. We had lunch at the Silver Salmon. The New England Clam Chowder was the best we’ve had in a long time. Our server, Richard was great and very attentive. Would definitely go back again when we are in Astoria.

Wonderful flaky, white halibut fish and chips. Husband and I split an order and they served us each our own plate of half the fish, French fries, and our own bowls of cole slaw. Steak fries were okay, a little more crunchy than I like. Cheese bread was good but not great. Husband enjoyed a drink at the full bar, which serves Pepsi. Good service from Kyle. Ate in the bar. Was quiet, had TV’s on with football and TV shows too, no sound but subtitles were on. A little chilly with the door propped open. Clean. Comfortable. A lot of choices on the menu for next time.

Had a Cobb salad. It was very bland and old tasting. My brothers meal was just a poor… Will not come back.

Holy wow!!! Found this place on Unilocal and to be honest, I don’t really listen to reviews too much since everyone’s tastes vary so drastically… but I’m SO glad I did!!! Bartender was amazing! Food was INCREDIBLE! Clam chowder and crab cakes were amazing! We’ll definitely be back!!! You must try this place if in the area!!!

I’m not usually a fan of salmon unless it’s sushi or smoked, but on a Sunday night in Astoria, there weren’t a lot of nicer dinner options for my boyfriend and I to walk to from our hotel. We were seated promptly, but there weren’t a lot of patrons at all. We were seated right underneath the Air Conditioning fan despite plenty of tables around us, and had to deal with frozen gusts blowing over us on a night that wasn’t that warm. We both ended up straying from the salmon and going with the petite filet dinner. We were given bread while we waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, for what seemed like half an hour, our server came to tell us there was a mix-up, and that we would have to wait a few more minutes. He grabbed the empty bread bowl that we chowed down waiting for an actual meal and offered more. Thinking our food would be just a few more minutes, we declined. It ended up being a few more than just a «few more», and finally we got our dinner. My boyfriend asked what the vegetables would be and the server told us a «green mix», but there wasn’t much in the mix that was green, and my boyfriend couldn’t eat some of what was on the plate. We both ordered medium steaks, but his was more like medium-well. When our food arrived, the server also said that they would«make it right». I assumed at the time that it meant at least a percentage off the meal. When our check arrived(by some other worker we hadn’t seen before) there were no adjustments made. Just as the random worker took our payment away, our server came back with a plate of plastic desserts trying to offer us one for free. After eating a whole basket of bread and our dinner, why would we want dessert, even if it was for free? It seemed like a poor afterthought, and after we witnessed people enter before us and leave after us as we waited patiently for dinner, the last thing we wanted to do was stay longer to freeze and stuff ourselves to death while we ate dessert. The food was fine for what it was, but the experience wasn’t great and it definitely soured our opinion of this place. If we ever return to Astoria, I don’t think this will be on our list, unfortunately.

My wife and I had lunch here on Saturday and it was the best meal we had while in Astoria. We started with the artichoke hearts and they were really good. The chipotle ranch has a bit of a kick which is great. We both ordered the awesome French dip and it totally lived up to its name. It was freshly made and hot! Even the fries were fresh. Great service and a great bar. Loved this place!

My wife and I, along with another couple came here yesterday for lunch. Despite seeing several empty tables, and no one at the counter, we were told it would take 15 minutes to be seated. Questioning the open tables, we were told the manager said not to seat everyone else until someone left. Clearly customer comfort was not a priority. We opted to wait for a table and went to the bar to wait and have a drink. In the twenty minutes we were there: 1. We sat at a table with dirty dishes that were never cleared. 2. We never had anyone ask what we would like. In fact, no one who worked there acknowledged our existence. 3. We watched more than person sending food back. I went back to the hostess and let her know we were leaving and would not be back. I explained our reasons as outlined above. There is no excuse to not seat people when there are open tables, no excuse to not clear off a table for an extended period time, and clearly was not a place we would patronize. Save yourself the time and trouble. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

All of us were walking around Commercial street looking for a simple and safe lunch before my wife had something to do. After looking up and down the length, we decided to stop by this place. We made the right choice. The service was great and the tables had paper on the tables to draw on. That always helps keep the oldest kid busy and helps us pass the time while the food is getting ready. My wife and son each had the halibut fish and chips. They were breaded properly. I find that most places load this thick soft breading on, which ends up soakig up tons of grease and leaving their fried fish(naturally having a lighter and weaker falvor) with a strong and unpleasant gresy after taste. The fish and chips here and a nice thin batter so all you tasted was the fish and the very good tartar sauce. I had the cajun salmon sandwich. Yum. That sandwich is good enough that if I went there often I’d have it every time. Being considered my «one thing I always pick on the menu» is a high pantheon to be inducted into. The place feels upscale, but the prices actually weren’t too bad. It ended up being $ 10 cheaper than the comparable dinner we had that night at a pub food type place.

I came in for dinner with my son while we were on a short getaway. The restaurant was recommended by our hotel, and we were very pleased. I had a cup of clam chowder and the smoked salmon, and both were delicious. It was maybe the best chowder I’ve ever had, and while the salmon was a bit overcooked for my taste the flavor was wonderful. I wasn’t impressed by the sight of the mixed vegetables it was served with — they looked like a microwave bag mix. But, it turned out to be just a less than ideal appearance. They were fresh and cooked just how I like, still crispy. The dessert tray presentation is a but outdated but my son enjoyed it. We shared the brownie sundae and couldn’t finish it. It was very good and quite a large portion.

If there were an option for negative stars I’d choose –5. Place looks great, classy yet looks can be deceiving… Mediocre service, well let’s just say inexperienced wait staff. To sum it down, waiter tried to use memory to take our Oder and it was completely incorrect. I ordered a Cajun Salmon Sandwich, and out came a Turkey sandwich… I mean really, it’s just a sandwich, was it hard to get that correct??? Don’t get me wrong, it was good but, I was hungry and didn’t feel like educating our poor waiter on his lack of ability to get an order correct. In all honesty I suggest«Waitstaff 101». Definitely not returning.
