Great service, great food. My daughter had the salmon fish and chips and clam chowder, both of which I tried and had to restrain myself from eating her dinner. I had the house salad(delicious dressing!) and crab cakes and both were really good. For dessert we had the night’s special of marionberry cobbler and it was out of this world. My daughter said it was«even better than amazing». We really enjoyed it here and may even go back tomorrow night for dessert and maybe dinner again.

Fish and chips was rockfish so I went with the clam chowder; creamy, thin and tasty. View of river was excellent and I was left to enjoy my meal and a good book. Desserts are made fresh daily do put dibs on what you want asap; kona coffee ice cream was delicious! Service was good and server threw in some soft bread with my chowder; much appreciated!

They serve oysters on the half shell… 6 for $ 16. and they aren’t actually shucked to order. Really disappointing.

This place is closed and is NOT Clemente’s Public House. The latter is a cheap fast food joint with a very limited menu. We read the menu and left. There are lots of great places in Astoria and this is not one of them.

The food was very good! But… My 4 stars should really be less, but maybe we were there on a VERY off night? Our server was as green as she could possibly be(but very sweet). I would have guessed she had started her employment only moments before we walked in the door. And oh my gosh, I have so much sympathy for that, in most cases. Yet this was a Friday night, and there didn’t seem to be strong hand holding. There were some very basic rules about serving she didn’t seem to have down yet. Seemed to be a poor management decision, if we weren’t such a sympathetic table I’d imagine people could have been very rough on her. Among other issues, my entrée came out first, and though I ate it slowly, my date’s entrée came out by the time I was finished(he picked at mine in the meantime). It kinda felt like the kitchen made a mistake and either missed the entrée to begin with or had to remake it. Some kind of acknowledgement of this oddity would have gone a long way. Shit, the offer of a free drink and I might have forgotten all about it. But like I said, the food was good! Not good enough to make up for the service, though, and absolutely no fault of our sweet server. I would have totally dug this place if it was managed to nearly the standard that the food was created.

The only reason this didn’t get a 5 star was due to our waitress on Saturday. We ate here for lunch in Friday, dinner on Friday and dinner on Saturday. So you guessed it — food is great! Quality of service on Saturday vs. Friday was disappointing. Friday was great. Chef/owner came out on Saturday to hear issues. I am confident he will deal with them. Absolutely worth the visit!

Clemente’s was cool: On the water, bartender with neat stories, and no wait. Sat at the bar and had some whiskey sours and wine. Great place to wet your whistle. While we didn’t eat here, the dishes that came out of the kitchen looked rather tasty. The blown up pics on the walls were super great, as well. We would’ve stayed a bit longer, but they were about ready to close. Overall, good hooch.

A lovely evening. Staff and Chef(owner) were very pleasant. The food was fresh, ample, and A happy homey atmosphere. Drinks, salad, entrée, tea and dessert all at a reasonable price

Dined here based on a suggestion of our driver from CPH and absolutely loved the food and atmosphere. My husband had the fresh salmon catch of the day with fresh cooked vegetables in a curry sauce… I had a bite of his dinner and it was fabulous! I ordered homemade clam chowder which was the best I’ve had in a long time. The Manager came over to our table to chat and make sure everything was good which we really appreciated. Would definitely go back!

when I hear that a chef is trying to do something«different» in a smaller town or city, I frequently like to give those places a try. This time, it was a mistake. When I walked up to the door at about 6pm, one of the two servers was outside on her cellphone, smoking. Right next to the front door. Bad instinct kicks in. Walking in, a hostess sat me and got me water and a menu. There was also a dry erase board with the daily specials written in multicolored markers by someone with bad handwriting. Because of the light reflecting off the board, you had to stand right in front of it to read it. Despite being one of only 4 tables, I waited 10 minutes for a server to approach; This was my second chance to repent and get out, and I missed it. When the flustered server got to my table, she literally said«sorry for the wait, do you know what you want?»(I watched her use the same approach to the 2 other tables that came in while I was there.) There were 2 servers, 2 hostess types, and a bartender. But that’s the level of service they provide? I had been craving cioppino, so I ordered that off the regular menu. Plus a glass of wine. She brings me the wine and some bread. While waiting, I appreciated the fact that Clemente’s is a beautiful space. Lots of light wood and glass, minimal but pretty. There is a weird cutout window next to the kitchen door; apparently it’s there so that the chef can stick his head out and talk to the table close to it. Very odd. Took about 20 minutes to get my food, and it was horrible. Generous portions of salmon, cod and clams, I will give them that. But ciopipino/brodetto/bouillabaisse, whatever you want to call it, is not just about the fish, but a flavorful broth! The fish tasted like it had been cooked in water, with a few canned tomatoes and parsley flakes added. Just horrible. I ate the seafood, I wasn’t getting any check in from my server, so it was that or starve. I’m not usually a dessert person, but they had a bread pudding on the board that actually sounded good, and hey, I was still hungry. But one of the few other tables tried to order it and«oh, we sold out of that at lunch. Sorry.» People, it’s a dry erase board. Erase. So no thanks to dessert. Paid my check, walked out and got custard down the street. It’s a beautiful space being run/staffed by people who either no longer care, or never cared to begin with. Either that chef doesn’t taste his own food, or he has an appalling palate.

Doing a little chowder taste testing today and this was by far the worst we’ve had. Floury, too thick, absolutely no flavor and it looked broken. Where’s the clams? Never again.

The Crab Louie Salad = fresh, local, Amazing, Salmon sandwich = absolutely a must, my friend took his first bite and didn’t come up for air; he devoured the dish and said«that was the best sandwich I’ve ever had» with the garlic fries are a MUST! Despite the fact that they were busy, the food came right away and it was delicious. Don’t be a pansy, if there’s a line STAY its worth the wait!

Ok… we ended up elsewhere to eat but felt compelled to report we tried to eat here but they turned us away with empty tables all around. Food in front of other people looked good but it was not within our grasp. They started telling people like us to come back in 30 minutes. As we walked out we heard them tell the peeps behind us to come back in an hour. What? Only thing we could think of the kitchen was overwhelmed.

Wife + 2 small kids stopped in 4 lunch, while driving thou town on a whim &BOOM! Best Fish N Chips I’ve ever had. Not sure about these other reviews about sogginess? I grew up in Alaska eating the freshest Halibut you can imagine and have never had a better Fish N Chips experience in my life. The breading was not overdone and the flavor was great plus they had several sauces that really complimented the dish. All 4 Meals we had were outstanding, even the kids. Great location on the pier and we enjoyed the open concept style inside. Staff welcomed my request to taste a couple beers before commiting to a pint. Can’t wait to go back again!

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a quick visit to Astoria. The service was great, very friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was beautiful with great views! The menu selection was varied enough without being overly broad. I ordered a cup of the tomato and cheese soup and the Caprese sandwich, and my husband ordered the fish and chips. Everything was delicious, and the portions were plentiful. I really appreciated that everything was made from scratch… great attention to detail! Would definitely recommend!

Homemade cockktail sauce is disgusting… tastes like strawberries, tomato and vinegar… they DONOT have regular ketchup. We were told they don’t like to serve ketchup because all of the preservatives yet they serve deep fried fish and chips. Service was really slow even when there weren’t that many customers. Lunch menu only has about 6 or 7 items on it and it’s reasonably priced. However be prepared for slow service and bring your own ketchup.

Every time I come in here for a glass of wine I know I will be met with a smile and a handshake from John the bar tender. A glass of wine to settle the mind after a long day accompanied by the greatest pokey salad! I almost hate to tell people about this place. It might get crowded!!!
