If it’s busy GOAWAY. Waited 45 minutes. They don’t seem to mind if you have to wait. Order taken 15 minutes ago and still waiting. Your call but we won’t be back.

Thought we were going to get an average family style meal, but was delighted with the crab melt. My husband and I shared it with soup and salad. More than enough food.

Extremely slow with only about 4 tables in the whole restaurant. Waiter had to be asked 3 – 4 times for everything. Kids meals are $ 8 and the adult food is sooo expensive for a regular restaurant. My brother said his chicken fried steak tasted like prison food. My pasta was ok but ridiculously overpriced. 2 adults and one child’s dinner cost of barely adequate food– $ 50. I won’t be back.

Horrible service. Waited 20 minutes to be greeted. Cooks were eating while cooking our food. Server was rude and didn’t check on us or have our check ready

Very small town feel, and VERY family friendly. This is one of the places that I go to for being comfortable. Expect diner food, because that is what this place is. They do have healthier options than normal diner fare too(helloooo spinach salad! I love it!). There are also a couple of plates that I recommend sharing since they come on a large round of bread(one is a burger, the other is a french dip. I particularly like the french dip one, but if I do not share it, I have left overs for three-ish meals). My favorite though, is that I am a local, and the people here know me and my family. It’s nice to have people come visit with us during a slow moment in the non-busy hours. If that isn’t the feel you are looking for in a place to eat, then this is not the place for you. If it is? Then give this place a go.

This used to be a Sambo’s back in the day, and it still retains the family dining establishment, with a great need for an remodel. Our server, while friendly enough, was slow and forgot my husband’s salad. Took a long time to get the water refilled. Food was okay, but bland. My fish and chips were tasty and didn’t have gooey batter. Hubby’s calamari was large, breaded strips of calamari steak, not the rings and tentacles you would find in appetizers. Atmosphere was 1970s coffee shop.

My son and I stopped in here for a quick lunch before heading up the Washington coast. We were seated promptly and waited on fairly quickly. My son has autism and with that has extremely particular food preferences. As he has learned to say, «burger, bun, done». Apparently this was far too much for them to handle. The waitress was fine, with a few little quirks, but the kitchen staff was plain rude. They made my son’s burger 4 different times and finally on the 4th try, got it right. We were seated almost directly across from the kitchen so we could hear everything. All the bitching, including the final cook who grudgingly prepared the burger the correct and ordered way, walking out of the kitchen afterwards looking at us and grumbling, «stupid picky kids» and walking away. Our food finally arrived after an hour of waiting. Their only saving graces were the waitress herself as she was extremely apologetic and the fact that they comped our entire meal when it was all said and done. We might try this place again if we are ever back in Astoria, but I hope it lives up to it’s family friendly invitation.

Stephanies Cabin was busy when we walked in on a Sunday morning and I do have a soft spot for a busy establishment. I know how hard it can be. However, because you are busy does not mean you should not strive for excellence. Stephanies has a older crowd and is a local family destination. Much like a Denny’s or Bakers Square the ambiance has a comfortable large corporate diner feel. Booths line the walls. You take your check to the counter when you are done and you expect no more or no less. We were seated quickly by one of the owners of the establishment and I liked him. My positive experience ended as soon as we were seated by this personable gentleman. The waitress who served us made it very clear that she had no interest in extending patience or even trying to be hospitable. There was lipstick on one of our water glasses. This is a simple sanitary quality control issue and unforgivable. No matter how busy you may be, there is no excuse for that. On to the food. We ordered the Cabin Omlette, Kielbasa sausage, a child’s pancake meal, a side of fruit and side of avocado. The Kielbasa tasted and had the texture of a large pork hotdog. It was served cold right next to a cup of warm fruit?! It was disappointing. My three dollar side of avocado was simply a smashed, slightly brown half of a avacado(pictured below). I was appalled at the serving size, sloppy presentation and three dollar price tag. The child’s meal was served with cold rubbery eggs. The Omlette was served in a pool of grease(pictured below). The quality of the food overall was poor at best. The service was neglectful with not even a smile offered by our server. The price on the meal was inflated beyond belief. I do not want to try Stephanies Cabin again.

Did not impress me. I give it two stars for clean and comfortable, and the third star for trying really hard. Halibut sandwich is might-ve-been-cooked-yesterday-and-reheated-greasy-soggy, did not come with fries. Rueben with house made corned-beef is blah.

Not impressed at all. I would prefer to eat at a restaurant and not fast food but after this place I would of rather had McDonalds! We had 4 people in our group, 2 adults, 2 kids. We got 3 salads and a kids meal and it was 60.00! My COBB salad was brought to me and then taken from me and returned with chicken on it. The chicken was not good, seemed under cooked. it was not good The ranch dressing I’m pretty sure they make them selves. Tasted like Mayo. I would save your self the money and go somewhere else. The 4 of us had fish and chips in Long Beach, it was wonderful and only 40.00!!!

The food was actually really good. The omelets my boyfriend and I got were huge as well as the pancakes. I really do recommend it for tasty food but the service wasn’t very good. Our waitress was nice enough but no one took our order for 20 to 25 mins and even took a table before us even though we’d been waiting. She never asked us how the food was and forgot our syrup. I’m thinking it was just a busy Sunday though. Good food but not the best service that day

Had a very good breakfast. Husband had the hash and he enjoyed the extra gravy that came with it. Also a hit was the homemade cinnamon roll which was as big as a dinner plate. The dough was soft and fresh, not overly cinnamon flavored and the icing was thin and just the right amount of sweetness. Waitresses were are in a good mood and service was prompt. Happy with the price of breakfast.

The host sat us got us water and took our drink orders, very quickly and the 20 minutes later no one had taken our order! We paid for our drinks and left. $ 13 for our drinks– which we couldn’t take with us –didn’t even offer a discount.

This place is just okay. My husband and I both ordered French Dip sandwiches. One the ‘Cabin Dip’ and the other the ‘Prime Rib Dip’. My advice, save the $ 3 and get the Cabin dip. It is bigger and the bread is better. I couldn’t even taste the horseradish sauce on the prime rib dip and the prime rib was REALLY fatty. I can’t imagine this place stays in business with repeat customers.

Not impressed at all. Had clam chowder and prime rib. The chowder was bland and like it came straight out of a can. The prime rib was awful — dry and no seasoning. It’s funny that the menu says its the best prime rib in town — go to another town for prime rib!

Love Stephanie’s Cabin! We always get the smoked salmon bennie. The hollandaise sauce is amazing, salmon is to die for! Genine is the best waitress. She is very attentive and quick with orders. No complaints ever!

I’ve eaten at Stephanie’s every time I’ve come to Astoria. I want to give it four stars for nostalgia, but just cannot. I think the food is really hit or miss. The French dip was very good, the clam chowder was ok, the tomato blue cheese soup was bizarre. Pros: they easily accommodated our party of 13 with five kids. The blue cheese dressing is DELICIOUS. Management was very friendly. CONS: nothing major, but everything was just so average. Our server seemed overwhelmed, and was nice but slow. I could understand because of our large party, but we were her only table. Additionally, food was put on the plate very sloppily. I had soup sloshed all over the plate. Also, the kids Mac and cheese was kraft with some shredded mixed cheese on top. This could be good depending on your child I suppose. I would skip it and find something a little more fresh.
