Awesome. Authentic. Fresh!!! Was pleasantly surprised. Don’t let the strip mall exterior deter you from this neighborhood gem.

Best green tea in town for sure! Real green matcha imported from Japan. My favorite food is the grilled salmon with soup, salad and rice.

My favorite local sushi place. Food is good, service is pretty good. We ordered bota boxes and were impressed. The neighborhood isn’t the greatest and it’s located in a seedy-looking strip mall but maybe the area is improving? Don’t pass up the opportunity to stop in.

This place was ok. The menu lacked variety in appetizers and rolls beyond the basic maki rolls. From other people’s review I’m assuming they were impressed by the happy hour or lunch specials. I can’t justify the price otherwise. I had the gyoza, yuki roll, and spicy tuna roll, all of them were ok nothing special.

We came in on a Sunday and our party of six was seated immediately. What stands out immediately upon looking through the menu is how often they stress the source and quality of the items. I put it to the test by ordering the bento box: Salmon teriyaki, shrimp tempura and the spicy crispy eel roll. The salmon teriyaki was cooked well, not overseared and flavorful. The teriyaki sauce was a little too thick, and the flavor had a little bit of that grainy taste teriyaki can wind up having. The shrimp tempura was thinly cut and the batter was light and crispy. The tempura dipping sauce was weak and disappointing. The eel roll was a mixed bag. The eel was fabulous and a delight in the tongue but trying to pick up each piece led to it disintegrating in my chopsticks repeatedly. Overall a pleasant experience. Service was good even though the food was slow to come out. I’d consider dropping in if I’m in the area again and am craving some sushi.

This might be my favorite OTP place for sushi! The décor is beautiful, the menu is great and authentic, all the servers and the sushi chefs are great. Their nigiri/sashimi is super fresh, and they also have a great selection of rolls. Aleo salad is a must try!

Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Atlanta, by far the best north of the city. This store is clean and has a relaxing environment. Some of my personal favorites are the real rainbow roll, tuna and avocado salad and the dream roll. You get quality sushi but the prices match. Great for take out or dine in.

I was invited to this place by some co-workers and I was like why not. When I entered the place I felt a warm cozy environment. As we were seated a waitress was right there to take our drink and food orders. I got the bota box. It can with 5 items. Ginger salad, white rice, teriyaki salmon, 3 fried shrimp, and 8 California rolls. These five items were my choices, each category had many to choose from. All of this food for under 13 bucks. I will return again for lunch and looking forward to trying out the dinner menu.

Hands down amazing sushi! They had a variety of different rolls and fish and they import it all from Japan. We sat at the bar and the chefs were super friendly and and they answered our questions. The tuna nigiri tasted super fresh. We got the rainbow roll, the spicy eel roll, and the white submarine. The rainbow roll was definitely the best because it had different types of fish on top, and the white submarine was the most boring but still pretty tasty. Overall good — just pricey.

Relatively open restaurant where it is one big room and you can see straight to the sushi counter in the back corner. There are several tables that are separated by hanging room dividers. I have to admit that I made the mistake of ordering shumai the first time at this sushi restaurant. I was a newb and therefore wasn’t too impressed. I was more adventurous and wise the second time. Uni. So fresh and creamy with so many flavors! I will always get this when I come back. Spicy magic monster. Was initially skeptical about this until I bit into it. Ooh, the various different fish gushed out. Tuna carpaccio. Thinly sliced(so it doesn’t look like tongue) with some kind of sweet soy(?) sauce. I think the star was the sauce and the tuna was the utensil for which I soaked up that sauce. Hamachi aka«fish cheek». It’s very tender and falls off the bone easily. It tastes best with the soy(or fish?) sauce provided. I like the skin a lot. It’s a bit chewy but very flavorful and had a good salty aftertaste. Omakase. Fish as selected by the chef. I thought this was an interesting way to sample different fish. Most of them were really good(thick, flavorful). Some of them might have been better as garnish? They were cut up into small little pieces aka thick strands. I’m glad I got to try it. The experience was great! I will probably try a new experience the next time. Our server was great in multi-tasking with other tables. She provided us enough attention to answer questions and cater to our specific needs. I’m rounding this to 4 stars.

This is the best Sushi in Atlanta, hands down. Their lunch special is unbeatable in price and in quality, plus they offer lunch special on the weekends. Can’t beat that! I always get the Chirashi B which has slightly better cuts than Chirashi A. It used to come with Uni but now comes with Ikura(Salmon Roe). All the fish just melts in your mouth and you can truly taste the quality. The rice is amazing, the best sushi rice I’ve ever tasted. The balance of vinegar and sweetness just needs to be tasted to really understand. My boyfriend isn’t crazy about sushi and always gets the Chicken Katsu Cutlet off the regular. Even though it’s not on the lunch menu, it’s only $ 13 so still really affordable, and it comes with both soup and salad. The only issues I’ve ever had is the service can be a little slow and uncoordinated, but all of the servers are very nice and it’s definitely worth the wait. I’ll keep on driving the 30 minutes to eat here every other week, since nothing in town can beat this place.

Reading reviews of sushi places, sometimes its hard to distinguish whether they’re well reviewed because they have a large selection of rolls that have mayo and other flavorings or whether the fish itself is the star of the show. Circle sushi definitely is the latter, they even go as far to have a small essay written in the restaurant which explains the quality of their sushi. I wouldn’t say that I am a sushi connoisseur which I can taste the minor differences between all sushi restaurants, but I know when I taste sushi I like, and Circle definitely has sushi I like. When I have gone, I have had the basic offerings of chirashi and or salmon/tuna which definitely have that umami taste which makes sushi so delicious. My one knock is that this place can be expensive, not in the sense that everything is $ 20 or above but you might leave hungry ordering a meal. For example, I ordered the salmon/tuna donburi for around $ 14, and it was 4 pieces of fish total, 2 tuna and 2 salmon. I know the fish is good quality but it certainly wasn’t filling enough even for lunch. Still, there is still a lot of value there, and I’d rather overpay a little for sushi that’s good than pay for sushi I don’t like.

So Unilocal says I’ve been here 46 times. That’s pretty crazy but coming here every other week adds up. It would be more if I didn’t move out of state. Anyways, I am very biased with sushi since 1 I’m Japanese, 2 my dad is a sushi chef, which means 3 I’ve been eating it my whole life. I mainly come here for one thing: the lunch chirashi. The fishes are really fresh, you get so many varieties of them, the rice has just the right amount of vinegar, and the price is cheap! I haven’t been to any restaurant that serves such great chirashi for $ 12. If you pay in cash, make sure you get the buy 10 chirashi, get one chirashi free stamp card. Oh Circle Sushi. I miss you so much. Until next time when I come visit GA!

Let’s just start off to say that their sashimi is one of the BEST I’ve ever had! It’s thick, fresh, soft, and very reasonably priced($ 12 for 8 standard sashimi). I would definitely come back for the sashimi everytime! Parking & Location: 4 Big parking lot in the Publix shopping center towards Arby’s side. I rarely go to Sandy Springs area, so I wish they can open another location near Doraville/Duluth. Service & Ambiance: 3.5 Came with the boyfriend on a Wednesday night, and the restaurant was about ½ empty. There were 3 servers total and I felt like my server wasn’t as prompt as the other two. We had to get his attention a couple of times and ask for water and the check. I don’t think he checked up on us at all after he dropped off the food… The décor of the restaurant is very casual and open, nothing too fancy. Not sure if I would come here on a date night. Food: 4.5 We shared 4 rolls and a bento box. The size of the rolls are relatively small compared to some of the other sushi places, but the flavor and freshness is definitely there! The Spicy Salmon Roll is a MUSTTRY!!! I loved it! I also thinks the dinner Bento box is a good deal — you can choose 3 or 4 items off the list for either $ 18 or $ 24. I would suggest going with the grilled mackerel or salmon, a roll of your choice under $ 8, and the sashimi(with a $ 2 up charge). The box came with rice and a salad or soup, so for around $ 20 you can get a decent meal. Let’s not forget how amazing their sashimi is! Overall, I loved the freshness of their fish and will come back whenever I’m in the area. Can’t wait to try their lunch Chirashi next time!

I have been dying to come to Circle Sushi ever since my friend mentioned this restaurant to be comparable to Hayakawa. Intrigued, we finally made a lunch out of it after church on Sunday. The location is a little hard to find, the store front just shows«Sushi» but explore a little, you will find it if you’re smart enough!(Just kidding). Park anywhere in the large shared parking lot. Lunch was rumored to be cheaper than dinner and boy it is cheaper by a long shot. $ 12 for a lunch chirashi A, or a slightly more pricey $ 18 chirashi B that includes a bit more expensive fish like fatty tuna. I went all out and tried the Chirashi B. By the way, hot tea costs extra. I was slightly disappointed to see that that. Also, slightly disappointed to see that the Chirashi B did not have uni as I saw in pictures on Unilocal.I believe it may only come with the $ 30 Chirashi on the dinner menu, which unfortunately makes too much sense. However, there are some great staples on the Chirashi, including scallop, toro, salmon, tomago, ikura, tako, and a few others I’m not able to identify. Also, underneath the sweet sushi rice, I was surprised to find unagi at the bottom of the bowl! What a delicious surprise! The scallop was sweet and fresh and the toro melts in your mouth. I did a poor job of proportioning the sushi rice to the sashimi, but I didn’t care, the sashimi was too good on its own. There were other specials I noticed on the lunch menu, where two rolls would add up to $ 9 – 13. What a deal! The rolls were kind of small, but others at the table noted that’s the size at dinner when the special pricing isn’t available. A huge hit was the candy in the candy bowl at the cash register. The Japanese candies are unique and different than the usual mints and toothpicks you find at other restaurants. Give them a try! I will definitely be back here. I recommend either the Chirashi A(at lunch for $ 12, it is a STEAL) or one of the rolls specials. The Chirashi B didn’t seem to be as worth it for the extra $ 6. The $ 30 Chirashi on the dinner intimidates me, but one day I would like to try their uni. Circle Sushi is not Hayakawa, but I definitely can say with confidence that it is a solid second. First place for cost and value.

Who knew Atlanta had a legit sushi place?! Definitely not I. Went here for my spouse’s birthday for lunch and I was quite impressed. The servers were mannerable and efficient. The restaurant was clean and sans fishy smelling. Which side note is how all sushi spots should be. The rolls and nigiri were light and fresh, and the shrimp shumai dumplings were perfect pillowy goodness. I have not one complaint.

This is the best Japanese restaurant I’ve been able to find since I’ve moved to Atlanta. The place is authentic– two of the workers, who I think are the owners, speak Japanese fluently(so I’m going to guess they are Japanese). I went with my aunt here twice, who grew up in Japan, and she loves the place. You know they’re really Japanese when they have a washlet in the restroom. The sushi is very good and fresh– I had the yellowtail sashimi. I also had the nabiyaki udon, which is one of my favorites, and is done pretty well here. Presentation was nice, staff was very friendly and polite! I appreciated that they included sweet bean on top of my green tea ice cream for dessert! A few understand downsides: Some of the dinner entrees are a little pricey, so I would suggest going for lunch rather than dinner. I was also surprised how busy the place was for a Sunday night when I went. We had to wait a little while to be seated because the servers were all swamped.

I went to Circle Sushi over 20 times. I have to say this is my favorite sushi restaurant in Atlanta. Yes, I’ll rank it higher than Huku, Hayakawa, Taka, and the other top tier sushi restaurants. One reason is because of their Chirashi don. They have the best Chirashi don in Atlanta, hands down. Particularly, the lunch Chirashi is the best Chirashi you can have. For lunch, you have two choices: Chirashi A or Chirashi B. Chirashi A is about $ 12. It’s an amazing deal. You get a ton of goodies. Most importantly, you get ikura. Chirashi B is about $ 18 and you get fancy stuff like Uni, fatty tuna, and whelk. But you don’t get Ikura. I think for the price, Chirashi A is impossible to beat. There are other Chirashis in Atlanta that charge higher but offer like 2 pieces of fish. The dinner Chirashi is like a combination of the A&B Chirashi. You get a ton of goodies. It’s about $ 28. Why is the Chirashi so good? Because they use high-quality, fresh fish, and they give you a ton of fish. Their rice is amazing. Each grain tastes great and flavored well. They have the special, «surprise» in the middle of the rice. I went on an Atlanta Chirashi tour to compare most of Atlanta’s Chirashi. Trust me, Circle Sushi wins. I have tried their nigiris a la carte. It’s exactly like the Chirashis, except in bite-sized pieces. The same care and craftsmanship goes into each nigiri. The rice is amazing, the fish is delectable, and the plating looks beautiful. I suggest getting their tamari sauces for the sushi. It’s gluten free and tastes better than soy sauce in my opinion. You won’t know they have it unless you’re Japanese or ask for it. So make sure to ask for tamari sauce. Also, their green tea is amazing. It has a slight toasted taste. I have no idea what green tea they use, but I can drink a gallon of that every time I come here. They have a huge menu. Everything on the menu look delicious. But I suggest getting their Chirashi. It will ruin other Chirashis you get in Atlanta.
