Great place to eat. Hush puppies were fantastic. Cheese burger was very good. Cole slaw was very good. Service was fast. Oh yes. The banana pudding milkshake was out of this world.

This is a good fast food place for cheap eats. The combo is the best deal in town and you get a huge ice tea. The place is always clean. Oh and hush puppies and shakes are good.

I’ve been to a few different Cook Out’s in the area but this one stood out for it’s terrific service. During lunch they a police officer help getting guests in and out of the parking lot which is very helpful. The value out a meal here is incredible. A nice sized burger, 2 sides, and a drink for $ 6. Hard to beat and the quality of the ingredients seems to be a step or two above your McDonalds or Burger King.

Completely average fast food. Service is ok if it is an off-peak time. Otherwise, you’re looking for trouble. My most recent visit was rather late at night, the place was admittedly pretty slammed. I ordered and waited 15 minutes for my food. When the guy called my ticket number, upon seeing me, he exclaims, «you’re still here?! You were here before I went to the bathroom.» He proceeds to hand me a soggy burger and fries, all cold. Perhaps my prepared food was sitting in the back for a while, because when he brought it out, he had several other orders that came after mine. I suppose you get what you pay for.

At 3:14 am on Tuesday night. The young lady who managed the window is amazing. She really deserves a pat on the back(if not more)! She managed the hell out of the orders, very impressed! Others should take note!

Oh my… co-workers have been getting lunch here and rave. Now I know why. I ordered lunch to take home for dinner and on the way home sampled a hush puppie. Even cold it was great. So tonight heated up the oven for the remaining 3 hush puppies, 4 onion rings and the hamburger. While waiting, couldn’t resist taking a bite of the cold hamburger and it really tasted like a burger off the grill. I’m officially a fan. BTW, their score from Department of Health is A 100… fabulous! $ for my lunch/dinner later was just a little over $ 5.00 which included a huge hamburger with cheese that I’m sure they were grilling on a REAL grill behind the building, hush puppies, onion rings and Dasani bottled water If you’ve got a second or two to pass by crappy McDonald’s, you should go by Cook Out. Absolutely worth it… I promise!

This place always hits the spot. Fast and tasty. And you can’t beat the prices. It’s like they’re giving away food! You can’t not enjoy Cook Out.

I was introduced to Cookout when I lived in North Carolina. I was very excited when the restaurant opened on Moreland, but I always saw crazy a** lines and always avoided it. Well, lo and behold, I found that Cookout was taking over Zesto. *Shed a tear here for Ponce de Leon Zesto* However, I knew going here would be a calorie bomb and I was dieting and needed to be careful of when I would go. Well, when I am on vacation all care for calories goes out the window. Sometimes, my «vacation» mindset may extend a couple days after returning. This past week was one of those cases. So I finally am able to try out my local Cookout. I ordered inside since I wasn’t sure what I was going get and I didn’t want to hold up the drive thru line. I have to say, I was amazed with how they transformed the interior. Very cool. However, I thought the benches were quite close to each other. I opted for one of the Cookout trays. Regular hamburger, 2 sides, and a beverage for $ 4.25. You can do various upgrades for additional cost. I upgraded my burger to the steak burger(includes A1 sauce and grilled onions). I also upgraded my beverage to a milkshake for $ 1(great investment). My sides were fries and cole slaw. Note: you can also get Cheerwine! The burger looked rather sloppy. However, it tasted pretty good. Fries were wonderful. The cole slaw was meh. It’s a bit different, but I can’t accurately describe it. Just not what I am typically used to and like. My milkshake of choice was banana pudding. Yum! Cookout is known more for their milkshakes than anything for a reason. They are wonderful. Takehome: When I am in the mood for fast food, I will probably pick this over McDonald’s. Though no one beats McDonald’s fries.

Ordered through Postmark and my entire order was wrong. Can’t say if the food was good or bad because some of it was missing and other were just wrong. My burger did even have a bun. Fries were just not good, tasteless. To make it all worse I was at work and couldn’t have it fixed. Cookout nor Postmark the food delivery company had phone numbers to correct this. I will never use either again. Pricillia

I don’t eat fast food often, but when I do, it’s usually one in the morning and I go all out(McDonald’s and co aren’t going to cut it for me)…this is a great place to do that — it’s dirt cheap and delicious. We split a burger, two orders of onion rings, and an order of hush puppies. The hush puppies and onion rings were perfectly crispy on the outside and warm — we ate them on the car ride home. The burger was covered in some sort of sauce-y coleslaw, but it was still pretty good and the meat had a nice charbroiled flavor. My only regret is that we didn’t get sauce to go with the onion rings and hush puppies.

Wow! Well, well, well! Great fat burgers and awesome customer service! Cashiers are very courteous and call patrons«guests.» Points scored in my book!!! Themed like a backyard BBQ, lovely hardwood tables that the staff constantly cleans. With so many selections from hot dogs to chicken sandwiches to quesadillas, everyone can find something delectable!

You know what for fast food I love this place! I think this was the idea of «fast food» when you think about it! For $ 4.99 you get quite a deal! A sandwich, 2 sides and a drink! I am a HUGE fan of the grilled Cajun chicken sandwich, and always opt for the onion rings or the fries! Not a place to take a gal on a date that’s for sure but a great quick little spot!

This location is located on Ponce where the old Zesto’s used to be. I must say first impression they upgraded the interior to a log cabin feel, and they had a few LCD panels as their menu. They had a good selection. I chose the special which includes a main dish, 2 sides, and a drink all for 4.99. To upgrade to a shake was a dollar. I had the cajun chicken as my main meal, quesadilla and chicken wrap as my two sides and a order of coke. This place was a fast food restaurant, they give you a number and you waited until they called it. Upon opening the food, the chicken was half the size that they give you at chick fil a, but the cajun chicken was well seasoned and tasty. The quesdilla was kind of pasty, and the chicken wrap was what I expected which was okay. Overall the cajun chicken, 2 sides and a drink combo wasnt a bad idea. This place is ideal after a night of going out. Pros: log cabin atmosphere, open late, good selection/good combo Cons: quesadilla was pasty and could have some more meat on it, slow service, not enough chicken

A good way to satisfy the late night munchies or recover after a downtown Atlanta bar crawl. Cook Out is a Southern fast food restaurant chain that serves assorted burgers, chicken sandwiches, barbecue pork, hot dogs, and milkshakes. You can order the items a la carte, but it’s the better deal to order the«Cook-Out» tray. Pick one entrée, two side items, and a drink for $ 4.99. If you want your drink to be a shake, add a dollar. The concept is cool — the tables in the dining area look like large picnic benches. I ordered a Cook-Out tray with the Big Double hamburger, a side of onion rings, a side of chicken nuggets, and a Oreo Mint shake. Wait time was slightly longer than the average fast food restaurant with a similar number of customers. For me the Cook-Out tray was a snack, so I had enough food, but for dinner I would have needed an extra item or two to be full. The Big Double was between small to medium sized; quality was what was expected from a $ 3 burger. The onion rings were not very crispy. My side of nuggets came with three pieces of chicken and, interestingly, two packages of sauce. I would prefer Wendy’s nuggets for the same price, but they weren’t bad. Tip for the shakes — get a spoon. They’re thick and tasty — my favorite item from the Cook-Out tray. And there’s a lot of flavors to choose from — certainly worth the extra dollar. You can also order from the drive thru. American Express not accepted.

Needed a quick bite on the way to the airport. This was a great call after all the Indian food at home for 3 days straight. Cheap and filling. The milkshakes are fabulous. So we ordered spicy chicken burgers with bacon, onion rings and chicken quesadillas and double hamburgers(cook out and out west style) with barbecue sauce along with chicken nuggets and fries. The service was fast and prompt. The ambience is pretty nice. My favorite was the barrel sink near the kitchen. I would love some thing like that in my house. Last but the best, the milkshakes. We didn’t realize we would need cokes, but we did. The milkshakes are thick and will last you for a couple of hours. They have a great choice and it’s tasty. I wish they had this in New Jersey too. *Sigh*

I was so excited to see that Cook Out was coming to Atlanta! The first time I ever had it was when I went skiing with my family 2 years ago in NC. When there are 4 of you — you’re starving, have no idea where to go on the way to NC& just want a cheap and decent meal: Cook Out is probably a good option. You can get a full meal for like $ 5. AND not feel as bad about it afterwards. :D I personally don’t like BK, Mickey D’s, Taco Bell, and etc. Haven’t had them in 15 years. I kind of think Cook Out is maybe a step or 2 above the typical fast food restaurants. But that’s just me thinking. Lol. Cook Out has SO many options. And SO many milkshake options. It’s great. I can’t drink too much of the shakes since I get sick, but whenever I have a bite or 2, I get the Oreo. This Cook Out has good parking. Whenever I come here… usually late nights, I always find a spot. Seating & Space — this Cook Out is huge. Other places are smaller and hard to find seats, but you won’t have to worry about that here. Service — Not bad at all. Efficient and quick. :D My fav: Cajun Chicken, chicken wrap, and the slaw.(I’ll get the hush puppies sometimes, depending on my mood — which btw are good!!!) Your side can actually be like a meal item; it’s crazy! Like I mentioned above, for the combo — there are so many items to choose from! I think to get the shake, it’s a dollar extra? I’m not a big fast food person, but… I’ll choose Cook Out if I just want a simple meal that’s quick and easy!

After much pressure from my friends I finally tried this place. The hype is real, this place is great. It’s true what they say for $ 5 you get a ton of food and it’s good. The burger really does taste like a friend made it on their back yard grill. Oh, and the grilled onions that I got with my burger, they gave me a ton and they were really grilled not like in other fast food joints where they say they are but come out raw. Did I mention they make your burger to order so make sure you know what you want on it. The sides are great, you get a whole entrée as a side. I opted for the corn dog and honey mustard wrap which is chicken, lettuce, honey mustard. They also offer hush puppies, fries, bacon wrap, etc. as a side. They also have 40+ shakes. I got the Oreo at my server’s recomenation and it was so thick I had to eat it with a spoon. No complaints there.

After a disappointing $$ appetizer meal nearby, we made the drive for something far more satisfying: Cookout. $ 5 gets you an entrée, 2 sides, and a drink. What what. I ordered a cheeseburger with hush puppies and fries. I also upgraded my drink to a shake(because why not??). I made the split second decision to order a Heath shake. We ordered three combos so it ended up taking a little while, but the wait was so worth it. Hot fried fresh, I savored the fried goodness… The hush puppies are on point. Don’t leave this out of your order. The fries are alright. The burger is maybe a step up from McDonalds. Too much bread but quite a cheap and yummy transition from our previous meal. That Heath shake though, it was SUPER rich and thick(impossible to drink through a straw, so take advantage of the spoon) but the Heath flavors were spot on. I couldn’t finish it at Cookout so I took it home and let’s just say, melted it does not taste good. So be a man, put up with the brain freeze and drink it before it goes bad. Can’t go wrong with anything here. Fried food and milk shakes = perfect second dinner and late night meal. Or any time meal.

I’m not quite sure what to make of Cook Out. They’re popping up everywhere, like acne on a teenager’s face. My first reaction was, «Another burger joint? Really?» Here’s what you need to know. First, there’s an exciting energy and a fun vibe to the place. Is it that energy that attracts the young crowd in droves, or does the young crowd create the energy? The menu goes beyond that of a typical burger joint with barbeque, hot dogs and lots of chicken — fried chicken strips, crispy chicken breast fillets and char grilled chicken. The heart of the menu is the Cook Out Tray. You choose from eight different burgers or sandwiches, two side items and a drink for $ 5. It’s the variety of sandwiches and sides that helps distinguish Cook Out, sides like hushpuppies, corndogs and quesadillas. Oh, and the 40 flavors of milkshakes. They also have Cheer Wine in the soda fountain machine. That’s pretty unique in these parts. All the food I’ve tried was hot and fresh. The burger was juicier and fresher than McDonald’s but looked smaller, even though it was a quarter-pounder. Maybe they use a smaller bun. The chicken tenders were big and crispy but not as good as Zaxby’s. In other words, the food is on par with similar restaurants and mostly average. And the décor is some funky diner meets log cabin meets fishing lodge conglomeration, which doesn’t exactly help define their niche. I’m not quite sure about Cook Out, but you should check it out. It might be right up your alley.

Fast food that doesn’t taste fast. Great pricing. We’ve been a few times, never had a bad experience. Also been to the morland location. I am totally bummed they gutted all the old cool stuff out of Zestos. That was Atlanta History… gone. But the inside is done pretty well, looks like a BBQ joint to me. Food gets the job done and adds a smile, and inchs to the waste… as expected
