Ate here with my wild kids. We all loved it!!! Fresh ingredients make for a wonderful pizza.

Great pizza. So-so service. Would it kill the girl making my pizza to smile and greet my party as we approached her? Sheesh. That’s really not too much to ask for. But the young lady at the register was friendly and informed us about the new rewards program. Now onto the food. Because that’s why we’re here. I am a creature of habit. But I love to venture out and try new things. And the Peachy Keen pizza that was one of the specials happened to look quite tasty. Peaches, prosciutto, sautéed red onions, feta cheese, fresh basil, and a balsamic reduction drizzle. Can we say amazing?!? When I finished, I wanted more! Outside seating was nice with plenty of fans and not too hot even with it being 90 degrees or so. I still preferred my North Druid Hills location that closed but this is one of the two closest to me.

This place is cool… But I can’t say that I’m super impressed. It’s a nice concept… And in my mind, it’s kinda like Moe’s for Pizza. I mean you already know going in that Chipotle is better, but this will have to do. Pre-made dough, but fresh ingredients and the pizza comes out fairly quickly. The quick turn around is evident in what is presented though. Even though it’s sliced for you, nothing holds together so be prepared to use a knife and fork. I had the barbecue chicken pizza and it was average… Barbecue sauce, chicken, bacon, red onions, cilantro… And corn??? It’s a good look if you’re in a hurry to get your food, but kinda messy so you lose the time saved trying to eat without feeding your clothes. Overall: Meh…

Uncle Maddio’s at Edgewood Retail District is a regular lunch spot from me since I work just walking distance from here. I am very picky about my food and typically find a restaurant and have 2 – 3 favorite items that I order and typically never stray from them. From Uncle Maddio’s it is the Big Max pizza, the Santa Fe Salad and the Greek Salad. Bar none my favorite is the Santa Fe salad, be warned the dressing can be a bit spicy for those averse to spicy foods. When I am craving pizza the Big Max is definitely the way to go if you are a meat lover. I absolutely love the concept of the pizza being built before your eyes and you customizing to suit. Highly recommend Uncle Maddio’s at Edgewood, food quality is A+ and the owners are always present to make sure the operations tick like a swiss watch. Highly recommended!

Amazing first experience. The food is amazing, the concept is genius, and the staff is amazing. Wanted to share an experience, the staff had a homeless man squatting and trying to evade the cold. He was boisterous and obnoxious, they ended up feeding and caring for him all the while worrying about the customers. It melted our hearts

I had been wanting to check out Uncle Maddio’s for quite some time now. Know that this is an Atlanta-bred company and known for a good, quick/casual pizza, we were excited to check it out. We came in on a Saturday afternoon for a bite. First of all, I had no idea it was roughly an equivalent of a Moe’s or other QSR type of restaurant, but pizza. It was actually really cool to see how you walk in and order your pizza(s) and they make them in front you, scoot down the line, and pay. Not at all what I thought it was going to be like. We stepped up and ordered a few things — breadsticks, a 12″ BBQ pizza with chicken and bacon on half, and a 9″ portabello pesto pizza. It only took about 5 minutes for all of our food to come out to our table, which was really surprising at how we had no concept of how long it would take. Pretty cool to see pizza on the fly like that. Now, the food was good. Pretty easy and approachable for just about anyone. I can definitely see why families enjoy it, too, based on the price point. Where most of the flavors were good, the biggest thing I’d have to critique is the standard crust. The flavor was so bland and just static. Nothing about it was inspiring or even reminiscent of other pizza crusts. We had the BBQ chicken pizza on this crust and it was pretty flat all around. Not our favorite. The wheat crust was fantastic, though. It worked really well and reminded us of pizza we make at home with pesto and mushrooms. Really good pie and pretty fair for the price of a 9″. The service was fine and the restaurant is easy for just about anyone to experience. I’d definitely pay them another visit and go for the whole wheat crust every time. Glad to see something like Uncle Maddio’s around ATL!

Their steak and cheese panini is good, but small for eight dollars. The workers were polite but dead boring not at all lively or happy. They also have an attitude when someone requests a personal creation. The music is a bit loud making it hard for the order to come across clear. The place is okay. But I don’t think i will be back

Yes, it’s a chain, but the pizza is good, consistent and the Monday specials is great. Great employees and the owner/manager is always nice. They have a wide selection of toppings, which I love ’cause I ain’t from New York. Plus for us regulars they have a buy 10 get 1 free. The amount of toppings are pretty good as well. Prices are reasonable. Again, it’s a chain, but for a quick pizza, sandwich, salad or surprisingly good chili check this out.

This is 3 slices shy of my 3-topping 9 inch.(Woops!) Goat cheese, portobellas and artichokes. I had a free coupon so I’m happy! But i would come again. Sauce is good, nice spices to it thought not spicy. Plus they have whole wheat dough and it’s QUICK! As long as I’m not being super calorie conscious that day, I’ll come back! Besides it’s TOOCOLD in Atlanta right now for a salad!

Poorly run, middle of the lunch hour with employees standing around not clearing the tables. Laziness.

The challenging thing for me when rating restaurants on Unilocal is always putting it in context to what ‘it is trying to be’. For instance, it is not Baccanalia, but it is also less likely you need to mortgage your house to eat there. So my 5 star rating is based on the enthusiasm my family has when we go there, most importantly my children. It is one of their favorite places and they are always happy on the way there, and on the way back. My daughter is gluten free, and they have great options for her, my son and wife are quite picky, and they have good options for them, and I generally like wacky combos — great options for me.(excuse the run on sentence, I suppose it is a function of all of us having drastically different tastes) The people I have met are really nice, the business is always out and about in our community(candler park movie nights). Of course most importantly, the food is really good. For date night, Anticos is my favorite(in the world possibly, but my kids call it ‘burnt’), but for family pizza night, Uncle Maddios is it!

I like this. Food is good, people are friendly. Ask for salami on the pizza, you won’t regret it. And the antipasto salad is outstanding.

I have eaten here at least three times now and I still don’t know what the big deal is. The pizza is ok along with the salads. Nothing really jumps out in taste.

I was one of the 100 people, as well as my boyfriend, to stand in line bright and early on a Saturday morning to get a year of free pizza(52 pizzas). We’ve ordered from here about 20 times in the past year. The idea of the business is great. Some of the staff are friendly, some are lazy and rude. I’ve been able to speak to a manager or owner more than half the time I had an issue, so I appreciate that they are available for the concerns of their own business. The pizza is okay, not bad, not great. I’m from Boaton so I know good pizza. They have forgotten to put Basil on my pizza 75% of the time and I’ve had to go back, and complain more than 5 times about it. I would like to substitute one of the pizzas for a panini or salad sometime because they are the same price, but they say they are unable to do so. I have continued to come here because of the card I sat outside for since 7am. But if I was paying, I wouldn’t have returned more than a handful of times.

This place is fast and easy to pop into and customize a pizza to take home. It’s a good concept: you build your pizza kinda like you build a sandwich at Subway. You can almost add anything you want. They have a variety of sauces, toppings, and types of crust. Its nice because you can order your own individual pizza when you are out with a group and you can’t make a collective decision about what to order. They have crushed ice too which is amazing. I have tried the Caesar salad which has a good dressing and pieces of the crust as croutons. They have sandwiches too, which I haven’t tried, but the fiancé says are good. This place is also affordable. The convenience and price point definitely keeps me coming back.

I love love love the concept of Uncle Maddio’s. Think Subway but for pizza instead. And you get lots of choices. Start with step 1 and choose your crust-wheat, gluten-free, traditional. Step 2 is choosing your sauce which includes regular tomato-basil, BBQ, herb pesto, olive oil, spicy buffalo and buttermilk ranch. Step 3 is choosing toppings and this is where it really gets fun. Love that there are a bunch of cheeses to choose from(including vegan cheese!) and so many different kinds of veggies and meats to choose from. Mondays are $ 1 off the personal size small pizzas. The only complaint I would say is that some of their employees’ friendliness/helpfulness have been hit or miss. I’m still waiting on a thai place to open up in ERD and I do miss Caribou Coffee that used to be here, but Uncle Maddio’s makes up for all that!

I’m really thankful to have a new spot where I can get somewhat healthy options available in the Edgewood Shopping Center. I’m there all the time and often find myself hangry and the Five Guys habit I was in was becoming seriously problematic. I’ve tried Uncle Maddio’s in the past and was excited to have them open up. First, the positive. They’ve got a HUGE menu and everything is pretty tasty. I usually opt for the orchard chicken salad, which is a seriously hearty serving of chicken salad on top of fresh greens with tons of veggies. It’s a big salad and always fills me up. I wish they had more straight-up, no mayo salads, but I’ll take what I can get. What keeps me from being a regular is the service. You would expect that being a brand new restaurant, they’d be overly chipper and helpful. Not the case. On my first visit I watched as three employees(including what looked to be a manager) took nearly 10 minutes to get my completed salad in to a bag and hand it to me. On my second visit, I was never asked what I’d like to order: I was just stared at by the woman at the front of the service line. They have TONS of employees here(I counted nearly 10 at closing time on my last visit), so you’d think they’d have customer service down pat and get you in and out quickly and with a smile. This sadly isn’t the case: it’s slow and frowny up in here. I’ll suffer through the shitty service in order to get some vegetables in my belly, but I won’t be especially happy about it.

I tried Uncle Maddios for the first time today and it was awesome. First of all, I love the concept. I’m a huge fan of «design your own» because I’m just a little picky. It’s set up kind of like a Moe’s where you go down the line and choose your dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings. They have good stuff to choose from too and cover all the bases– vegan cheese, tofu, portobello mushrooms, and all kinds of other meaty and cheesy things if that’s more your style. On top of that they use local vegetables and made from scratch sauces and dough. Sweet! The staff was super friendly and helpful, too. I must have had that«I’m new» look on my face but they were patient and answered all of my questions. They make the pizza’s fresh so you will wait a few minutes for it– but not as long as I would expect. I’ve waited much longer at Mellow Mushroom. The wait is definitely worth it. This particular location is super convenient and they have what will be a killer patio once the weather cooperates. This a great place for kids, couples, families, whatever. I cant think of anything that even needs improving. This location is brand spanking new so I just hope they keep up the awesomeness. The prices are great! My pizza was actually free because I had a FB deal– but, the cost would have been less than $ 8. Say what?!? Love it!
