I have been coming here for over 6 years and I must say the customer service from some of the staff is a lil sucky but for the most part the sushi is very good despite their low score

Just disappointing as of late overall, at this particular location sushi buffet is a waste for price, rice balls are now small scoops, it’s just Bleeh

There are generally places with authentic food, and there are places with American *fill in your ethnicity* food. This place seems to be an American Japanese food place. It’s by no means bad, and the service is prompt too. But if you’re looking for authentic jap food, this is not the place. We ordered ramen but I doubt that we can find anything similar in Japan — the pork was not pork belly, there’s a bunch of salad veg in the soup, and the soup base is not pork broth. Once again, it tastes not too bad, but I doubt they should name it Tokyo ramen because that is just soooo misleading.

Cheap but fresh. Great clutch impromptu sushi move. Lunch buffet is great, unless you’re a sushi snob. Then avoid, I guess.

Love Love Love this place. I would eat here every day if it was closer to my house bc this place is great but honestly it’s worth the trip. Plus I’m a Foody. My family love this place as well. The rice is sooo delicious with all the veggies and the sushi is the

This is my favorite locale spot to get sushi. The staff are all sweet, and the chefs create quite delicious products. Also, usually miso soup is a hit or miss for me when I get it, but here its a hit!

My FAVORITE! Fresh, variety, inexpensive, friendly, young and fun! Their lunch buffet is so expansive and fresh — sushi, salads, temperas, and grilled dishes. On their regular menu they even have $ 1 sushi rolls. Some of my favorites are the Banana Tempura Roll, Teriyaki Eggplant Roll, Mixed Veg Temp Roll. Try their yakitori too — it’s only $ 1 a stick! I come here every time I get to come home to Atlanta. Yum!

Updated Review: Prior to my experience today, I had been a regular patron of the Rusan’s at Edgewood, but as much as I hate to say this, I won’t be going back. I went in on a Monday afternoon around 4:45. I asked for a booth, but I was taken to a table. I explained my preference, and I was told that it was policy that booths were reserved for parties of 2 or more. I asked why, and no one could give me an answer other than«it’s policy.» The table they were going to sit me at was a 4 top. The booth sat 4 people. What’s the problem. The restaurant was by no means busy, but they still refused to seat me at 1 of the 4 open booths. It seems like a little thing, but I was hoping to work on a paper and really would have preferred the slightly more secluded feeling of a booth. I guess I’ll spend my money elsewhere. ********* Like a couple of other sushi places i frequent, this isn’t the best sushi in Atlanta, but it’s good. If you’re looking for a late night piece of cheap nigiri or a roll, it’s a neat place to stop in. It’s pretty much the fast food version of sushi, but sometimes, that’s what I’m looking for. So why 4 stars? Because I’m rating it for what it is in comparison with what it’s supposed to be. It’s supposed to be a no nonsense, fast, friendly, inexpensive, sushi place, and they hit the nail on the head.

After shopping at Edgewood, we wanted to quickly stop by Ru San’s to get some Asian cuisine. While it was quick and quite affordable, I would probably go elsewhere the next time I’m looking for a restaurant in that area. The menu is expansive. They have a variety of food and particularly sushi rolls. Perhaps I should have gone for the rolls, but I felt like eating Chicken Teriyaki. The meal came with miso soup and a salad – which were decent. But, the chicken tasted like it had been frozen, boiled then topped with sauce. On top of that, the vegetables were way overcooked. I wasn’t expecting the best Japanese, but at least something that was okay and I was disappointed. The best part of the whole experience was our waitress. She was very sweet and attentive!

You know, you hear about a sushi Buffett. Your first thought is, hum, gas station sushi. Well let me tell you. This place is awesome. First of all, get here early bc you will see a beautiful display of many different kinds of sushi, tempura, etc. We started with the miso soup which was very tasty and hot.(that’s heat hot not spice). I then attacked the sushi Buffett. I tried everything, from the Ahi to the Yellow tail and again, it was all good. What would you pay for 3+ plate fulls of sushi with a soup and salad? $ 11, is all I paid. What a sweet deal. Good, all you can eat sushi. This was obviously not a secret bc when we left, the place was full and the people were still coming in at lunch time. So, if you want good sushi at a great price, come here and full up. I recommend it.

I had been here about four years ago, and I had a great time. I went in the evening time(about 8-ish?) with one of my friends. We sat out the counter, and our server actually drew a cat shape for me on my plate. It was really fun. The atmosphere was very calm, and the staff was very kind to us.

I absolutely love this place! Fresh fish, friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and sushi chefs that are always there to entertain you. The only thing that I would complain about is the parking, but that isn’t their fault. Oh and did I mention that the sushi is not only delicious but also not that expensive!

Very affordable Japanese food here. My bf and I got the Nabeyaki Udon and Pork curry udon. The Nabeyaki udon came out looking very much like a traditional Japanese dish, and the taste was average. My bf thought the pork curry udon was really just OK and tasted like just udon in curry sauce broth, when he actually preferred a thicker curry consistency as found in Japan and not broth-like.

I used to think the lunch buffet was a good deal, as long as you set your expectations low. BUT now, they charge a heft penalty if you don’t eat all your rice from the sushi and rolls. I didn’t bother to get the buffet and ordered a la carte sashimi. It was disgusting, and liquidy! Really, the center was not solid, kind of like a gel, and it smelled off. I didn’t complain to the manager. I just happy I didn’t order too much.

Just a warm 7. The service was a bit laxed at this location. Not that is was bad. They just didn’t have enough people. There way maybeeeeee 14 customers at this location. Seriously, the menu was like a text book. Very hard to comprehend. Saki was delicious. But the food on a scale from 1 – 10. A slightly warm 7. It was like dreading good leftovers. I’m not a sushi snob, but I know good food when I devour the sauce it was served in! Needless to say. I left the leftovers!

So this is the go-to place for my friends and I when we just want something cheap. We come here for lunch or dinner since they are open late. I don’t know why we keep coming back here for more. It’s really not that great of a sushi place. HAH. There are several different locations– I know one in Midtown on Piedmont closed. The menu is huge, there’s not only sushi, but there are also various«Japanese» foods like soba, fried rice, etc. They have a lunch buffet on the weekends for like $ 13.99? It just maybe worth it because it’s cheap for a good bit of selection. At night sometimes it can get really loud, and some people come here for birthday’s and they do a lot of saki bombs. But that’s about every Japanese places.

I haven’t been to a Ru San’s in forever and when my friend group had suggested it for cheap eats I was a little reluctant only because I’d had a fair share of «eh» at Ru Sans across the board. That aside, of course I went. Let’s give them another chance. And all in all, this restored my interest in cheap sushi. Granted I wasn’t partaking in their fish… So take the review with a grain of salt. Their maki always made me nauseated, so I tend to avoid it, but their nigiri is fine though. I really love that they have a vegetarian menu and will order to my hearts content off that. The veggie dumplings are a nice appetizer, and despite the looks, the eggplant maki is pretty decent. I would not recommend the salad maki though. I wish they’d add purple cabbage or more stuff to it than just lettuce, and an option of a sauce. Even if it increases the price, that’d be fine. I’ve seen salad«sushi» rolls before and they can get really creative with sprouts and cabbage/carrots, radishes, romaine… all sorts of veggie goodness. The price on most/all the veggie rolls are super cheap, so you can load up if you’d like. The service was super nice too. My dumplings came steamed when I’d wanted them fried, and it was perfectly fine, I’m not really that fussy, but she insisted on getting the order right, so it was nice of her. Given this last visit, I’ll be reconsidering Ru San’s for cheap sushi eats especially since their vegetarian menu keeps growing.

I first discovered Rusans during my undergrad… but in Athens. The one in Athens was actually pretty decent. I went there probably every few weeks. But after I graduated, moved out to this part of the city, and tried out this Rusans… Man, I was saddened. But good news: there’s lots of parking & seating. :D Their Naga(I have no idea how to spell it) Udon was very average. I wouldn’t order it. :/It was bland as well. Just not a good mix. Also, the vegetables were not fresh at all. Bleh. After a few bites, I realized they were probably a week old. No lie. Definitely didn’t spend my money well on this. Chicken Fried Rice is ok. My bf likes it, but he’s a rice person. He just ate it since it’s his go to meal. But still — I had a bite and it was meh. Service– it’s actually pretty good. My server was excellent. And I could tell the owner works hard and tries to make sure every customer is happy.
