Are we not animals? As a species, do we exist as one in this world? Or are we only caged in our life by ourselves, thinking we are more than what we actually know to be fact? Rainforest, you house more life forms that any other ecosystem known to mankind. But in what world do you exist? Is it in the past or the future? What appetizer should I order? Had it been in the past, my Rainforest Burger would have only been a memory. But in the future, mighty rainforest, you become hope. You become desire. You become all that mankind has ever wanted… –RC

Still obsessed with the Pastalaya. Since 2008, I am still obsessed with it. It’s spicier than what I had remembered it to be, but oh well. I love spicy foods. There were generous chunks of chicken and sausages. They do use baby shrimp, and there’s something about those baby shrimps that freak me out. My bf had this shrimp dish that came with a creamy alfredo-like sauce. That too, was delicious minus all the peas! Yuck! We also had the appetizer sample that came with this delicious spinach artichoke dip, super tender chicken tenders(with this sweet coconutty honey mustard), mozzerella sticks(which was OK — I wasn’t crazy about the breading), and these egg roll looking things that weren’t too bad themselves, even though I hate beans. The drinks were great. They had this promotion where if you buy one of the listed drinks, you get to keep the Rainforest Café glass. And it’s also $ 5 off for refills. We had the Mai Tai and Margarita — so good! The atmosphere/décor are awesome. I love watching the fish. Take the chance to sit next to a tank, they’re more entertaining that you think they are. We met a puffer fish and named it Puff :)

If you are looking for a good solid meal with atmosphere, this is it. And the grand kids will love all the ‘forest animals’. Just a bonus to have it on the AC Boardwalk!

I was visiting Atlantic City for a few days with my cousin and we were looking for a place to eat. As soon as I saw the rainforest café, I literally died! I have wanted to come here since I was a kid but never got to. We are seated and it is so exciting! I love the thunderstorms and when the animals go crazy, it is quite entertaining. Great for kids! The food was fine, nothing special. I came for the experience.

The service and the experience is good. It’s really different from any café(it’s not really a café to be honest, more of a restaurant, but a very expensive one) because the trees, gorillas, and everything moves! And the lights will occasionally go on and off when it’s rainforest time! We came in at the very latest, being one of the last people there. Our waiter was really great — he was so nice and attentive and not for a second did he push us out, which I really appreciate. Plus their uniforms really match the theme of safari. However, the food is really overpriced, even worse than in Manhattan and quite frankly, not the best. I had the Planet Earth Pasta which was a lot of food for $ 15 — a big helping of cheese, fussili pasta, super red, sweet marinara sauce, and sausage. It wasn’t the best, but probably the best to make it worth it. We also had one of their starter platter, which was quite expensive but probably comparable to the ones at Applebee’s(artichoke dip, guac, you know the drill).

This was my first time here, We sat by the bar, thinking that we would get faster service but we were wrong. We came in around lunch time and It wasn’t even busy but the bartender/waitress took forever to get back to her post. I could have made my own drink and a few others before she would have noticed. The service itself was extremely poor but the food wasn’t bad. We ordered the appetizer sampler and the spinach dip in the middle was excellent. Everything in the platter was delicious and satisfying. It came with Mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, tortilla chips and dip, etc… It can easily be split among 2 people. The atmosphere itself was okay. The décor was nice and intriguing. I am not sure if I would return here only because of how poor the service was.

Came in for lunch and received perfect service. Not only was I pleasantly surprised, but I was thoroughly impressed. We were seated pretty quick, within 2 minutes. Our server came over shortly thereafter, her name was Serena and she was friendly, nice knowledge, and suggested specific drinks and food items for us. We ordered drinks and apps first and they came out in a timely manner. Drinks were out within 5 minutes and our cold app was out in about 10 or less. We had the ahi poke tower and it was on point. Drinks were cold and delicious. I was drinking drafts and I tried my lady’s Mai Tai; delicious. I could see the bartender from where I was sitting, a bearded gentleman. I could tell he was tending to bar customers as well as the well very easily and he knew what he was doing. Our entrees came out and everything was cooked to order. I had the luau platter and it was huge! I tried my lady’s BBQ ribs and fries. Both delicious. Could not finish massive pile of meat. Had to box it up! All in all, great job. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing, the manager on shift seemed engaged, and again, Serena hit a grand slam. It’s rare to see server who really knows her profession so well, keep it up! Next time I’m in AC, I’ll definitely pop in.

It was a great experience, very creative and the food was great, I highly recommend if you go to Atlantic city and decided to take a stroll on the boardwalk

Great place to check out if you are with family especially kids. Food is not that bad so it is worth trying it. We had seafood sampler which is consists of tilapia, creamy scallop and shrimp. It was large enough for two ppl and we really enjoyed it except the fries. Fries were soggy and had no flavors at all. Chicken Caesar salad was large enough and good but I just wished it has more lettuce since I LOVE veggies more than meat. You should check this place out when you are in AC for fun experience with your family or friends. It’s fun place!

I am updating my review since the last time I was there 2 years ago and since trump closed. I am so glad they were able to stay open and the staff was so friendly! I feel like the prices are what really prompt bad reviews. But you are paying for the location right on the boardwalk. Tip! Look for coupons online or in flyers for discounts or free appetizer. The food was good and it comes with the appropriate sides. My chicken parm came with fresh bread. We got the appetizer sampler and the Spanish dip was good! For drinks I got the strawberry mojito and it was amazing! For kids! This place is by far the only/best dinning option for kids. The animals and atmosphere make it entertaining. Plus the kids meals are good! The Mac and cheese is real not some Kraft Mac and cheese. We loved our dinner here and will go back!

I don’t see the hype. Big fake animals making noises every 30 mins. They sing for you if it’s your birthday. Food was blah, long wait to get to table even if you have a reservation, service was bleh. Servers were not fun, just did their job and left… For a long time. I thought if there is not much to see then the servers would make a few conversations with is to lighten the mood. Way too dark in the restaurant. Thank god I had good company. My son loves to imitate animals, he was our show for dinner.

It’s super expensive. Like crazy expensive. For a restaurant that isn’t much more than an AppleBees, charging double what you would pay there, isn’t worth it just because they flick the lights on and off every 30 minutes. The fish are gone from the tanks which is kind of sad and the AC doesn’t seem to work well so it was warm. I’ll give it 3 stars because the portions are HUGE, and the Mai Tai was well made. Otherwise, go to AppleBees and use the money you saved to buy your kids a stuffed elephant.

We were there for our friend’s birthday. 14 of us in all. 1 didn’t get diarrhea. The rest did get to use the GasX and Pepto Bismol that we had brought with us, so that was exciting. The food taste was average to poor. The air conditioner wasn’t works no properly, so we did receive the true rain forest ambience. Our waiter, Frank, was fantastic. Frank comped us one of the meals and a free drink. The person who didn’t poop a lot had her meal special ordered, she has allergies, and the chef came out to go over everything she could do. The staff was the only thing that was good.

Our server was attentive and polite, the food was ok, nothing extraordinary, I had the fried shrimp and the fries that came with it tasted like frozen supermarket fries. My cousin had the taste of the island and her mash potatoes were dry. My boyfriend had a burger that was good and his were just ok. My other cousins pastalaya was good. My mom and aunts had volcanic Cobb salads they said were really good. Our drinks, Blue Nile, Strawberry Mojito, Peach Sangria, not great.

What a cool & unusual place. I looked at the menu it had variety & prices weren’t bad. This is a location everyone, of every age MUST see, it is incredible. It truly looks like a rainforest in Grenada. Got inspect & be a skeptic too see it is fake, so take it at face value & enjoy the interior. You guys really, you can never loose that inner child it makes life much more interesting and magical… get with the program. All the trees, forest animals, fruit, whstever, it is so cool. I went to their gift shop just to take home a reminder of this beautiful, magical place. What’s a girl to do? Always believe in magic!

Came here the 4 of us for a quick late lunch without kids. We just wanted to eat and be out. The atmosphere is really cool with all the trees and animals and simulated rain every half hour. The food is gross. Everything we ordered was pretty disgusting. We ordered beef fajitas, burger, chicken quesadillas, french fries and the appetizer sampler. All of the food tasted like it was frozen and then micro waived. The girls split the fajita and it was inedible, the burger was ok and my friend left most of it. French fries were dry and tasteless, the quesadillas were not completely disgusting but were not good. The sampler had some fried food on it and the chicken tenders were the only thing edible. Maybe for a kid to experience the rainforest it could be ok to visit here. If you are looking for a quick lunch, id go somewhere else. Food issue needs to be fixed.

We had lunch there with family and friends while visiting Atlantic City. I would say it’s a fun place, especially for kids. It was my first time at rainforest café so design seemed pretty interesting and unusual. Menu is similar to typical american diners which is fine. My salad was yummy!

Against my better judgment we had lunch here. Why we stopped, I can’t explain other than we were hungry, the boardwalk was windy and cold and we were ready to get on the road back to VA. I can’t use the excuse of kids. My last time in a Rainforest Café years ago was not a good experience. Yet, we walked right in and were guided to a table. I’ll start with the positives. Our server was friendly and attentive. The décor of the place is unique and would definitely keep the kiddos engaged. The décor is even fun for adults and is somehow fitting on this boardwalk. The café was clean. The menu had variety. Unfortunately for me, the cons outweighed the positives. This is a tourist trap chain with high prices as compared to quality. While the décor is entertaining, about the third time the gorilla drops, the chimps start screaming and the thunder storm starts up yet again, you will be wishing for a quieter spot where you can actually hear your dining companion. Then there is the food… We ordered burgers thinking that would be a safe choice in such a restaurant. I ordered the guacamole burger and my husband ordered the rainforest burger with bacon. I prefer my burgers cooked medium to medium rare and requested just that. While some restaurants won’t accommodate a burger cooked less than medium(think«some pink» at another national chain), the server told me it was not a problem. I was pretty happy until my burger arrived and I found it was cooked quite well done so much so that it was dry and the bit of guacamole on the burger could do little to nothing to juice it up. Side of mayo please? My husband’s burger was cooked equally well done. While we could have asked for the burgers to be recooked to the desired temperature, I don’t have a high degree of confidence this would have resulted in a better burger, but rather just delay us getting back on the road so we sucked it up and kept what we had. My husband had never set foot in a Rainforest and I am 99.9% sure this was our last visit to this chain. While I am sure there are other choices along the boardwalk, between the cold and trying to avoid the people selling timeshares every 20 feet, I was just eager to get away from this tourist trap. Two generous stars — if not for our friendly server, this experience would have garnered only one.

Tourist trap, no matter which location you visit. However, I will say that everyone needs to eat here at least once for the environment alone. The food is sub par. I’ve been a few times. The only thing I like– and go back for– is the volcano… so damn tasty. I’ve had the nachos– not very loaded and rather dissatisfying. I’ve had a burger– again, pretty mediocre. There are a lot of better options in AC to eat at– within the same price range. Rainforest Café is actually kind of steep for what they serve. But like I said. everyone needs to go at least once.

To begin, remember this place is: 1) For kids! and 2) For adults who still have that kid inside of them! I’ve visited Rainforest Café’s many years before, and am glad to see they still uphold the same level of service, enthusiasm, food quality and atmosphere that they did when they first opened. Let me break it down: Atmosphere: For a younger kid who has never been here, this place will amaze their imagination. The ‘rainforest’ feel as you come in to dine, and with realistic electronic animals that move every 10 minutes or so, with a ‘thunderstorm’ with the lights and action about every 30 minutes. It will leave a great positive mark on your child’s memory if you visit with them. Food: This is not just kids food folks, the entrees for adults are prepared very well and taste great! I even remembered the mashed potatoes from a visit I had 10 years ago because even the side dishes were so good. Staff: All of the staff were very enthusiastic and engaged, which is also a great plus. Fast and efficient service. Overall, I give this place a 4 to 4.5-star, for the one-of-a-kind experience that it offers to young kids. And again, we got great service and great food on our visit. — I’ve read other reviews and amazed that some folks gave them such a low review. — Keep the adult biases down a little, keep the kids’ first, and if Unilocal allowed kids to review it, Rainforest Café would probably receive«A gazillion» stars. Definitely a place you should bring your kids to at least once for the great experience.
