Ace Rent A Car

So, I thought I got a great deal on
with ACE in Austin, TX. I prepaid for the week, they were about $ 50 less than the competition I frequently use so I thought I would give them a shot.
Long story short when I went to pickup the car, the agent informed me I had a mysterious balance of $ 50 due, when i said I prepaid for the week, he said yes I see that I am not sure what this is. I didn’t have time to argue, this will be my one and only time using Ace.

Rashida at ACE car rental is an amazing employee and helped me in a time of great need. I was struggling as a mother traveling alone with a 2 ½ year old, too many bags of luggage, and running dangerously late for my return flight home.
I thought there would be a Smart Carte around that I could use to help me get my bags to the terminal but there was not. I was struggling with all of my bags when my daughter decided to drop to the ground with a toddler meltdown.
Rashida saw me at this moment and ran over to help me. She said she had a child the same age and knew what it was like to travel alone. She carried half of my luggage all the way from the rental car return to the very last airline counter – a trip that took her probably 30 minutes. She was so kind to me, since I was a wreck, and said that she herself had had a bad day and helping me made her feel better. I was so touched by that and her kindness.
ACE car rental, give Rashida a raise! She is a wonderful person working for your company and should be rewarded.

ACE @ Austin has great customer service. I had occasion to talk to three different employees there recently. Turns out I didn’t need my car as much as I thought I would.
Each employee was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable and helped me get a reduced rate for my shorter term.
When I got home, I didn’t have a receipt for the credit to my account as I had dropped the keys. So, I called them and they emailed the receipt right to me in minutes. When I come back to Austin, ACE has my business. Thanks for the good job folks!
Finally, loved the little Kia Soul they gave me. A quick upgrade at no charge!

Came into town again for ACL. I love ACE not only did I get a brand new car but it was a 2013 dodge Charger fully loaded. The were running a special thay saved me more than $ 134 total on this car. Did I mention it had a hemi. The staff is great and you really can’t argue with the price.
I will always rent with Ace.

I travel a lot for work. So I’ve probably rented for nearly every major car rental company. My recent experience with Ace Rent a Car in Austin has solidified that when I’m traveling to a city that has an Ace, I will only rent from them. Here are the reasons why:
1. Customer Service — I was on a flight that was scheduled to get in at 10:30pm. Unfortunately, my flight got delayed. and delayed again, and then again. After the second delay I called Ace to find out what time they leave, and the gentleman on the phone offered to stay almost 1.5 hours late just so I wouldn’t be stranded. What’s better than the fact that he offered to do this, was that he willingly and unbegrudgingly offered to go above and beyond. I ended up having to get on a flight the next morning, and when there was confusion upon returning my car, the amazing GM, Jose helped get everything settled so that I wasn’t overcharged.
2. Quality of car — This was a personal trip, so I opted for a smaller car. I received a Corolla in great condition that was clean, drove well and most importantly had bluetooth, which made getting directions via my iPhone app safe and so easy.
3. Price — The rates for my car were FAR below the rates I was quoted from other competitor rental companies. Saving money, means a lot, especially when you know you’re going to get a quality service and product.
Pro Tip: I booked my rental through
. What I didn’t realize is this is NOT the way to go. If you do this, NO adjustments can be made. In my case, because my flight was delayed and I had to come a day later, I was going to be charged for a day I didn’t use the car. This is where Ace’s amazing GM, Jose, came in and really saved the day.
If I had booked through Ace I could have easily made changes and the rate would have been the EXACT same. Next time I book, I will make sure to go directly through them. Overall, I can’t say enough positive things about my recent experience with Ace.

Terrible. Awful customer service. The woman behind the counter– who seemed only capable of smacking her gum and scowling– was remarkably rude and unhelpful. My orbitz reservation wirth Ace hadn’t gone through and when I tried to rebook it with her, she quoted me at a $ 76 higher amount. I pointed out the disparity and asked if she could get me closer to the original rate. She was incredulous of this idea and– between ear shattering gum smacks– explained that no way would she help us.
Alamo or national is a much better bet

If you’re going to Austin your nuts to go anywhere else for a rental car. I’ve been traveling for work for over 15 years and always went with the name brand to be safe. The cost was over $ 50 a day cheaper for a mid-​size with ACE. Pleasant people at the counter, ask me questions once and didn’t keep asking me after I said no to extra’s. Feels good after a flight and waiting for luggage not to be treated like a number for profit.
Now for the basics. Car was clean and in good shape with all nicks marked on the paperwork. Two workers made small talk and smiled the entire time. And when I returned the car I got the same smile and small talk from another young lady.
Great place to rent a car and I will be looking for ACE moving forward. Great job Austin Airport crew.

Still amazed how poorly run this operation is. Again, RUN, don’t walk, away from their counter and rent from anyone else when in Austin! After renting from another company and driving 100 miles away from Austin, Ace, after they finally opened up and realized how many people they had inconvenienced, had the gall to call me and tell me if i drove 100 miles back and turned in their competitors car they would offer me a free rental. Right. I’m gonna drive 200 miles further, round trip, to allow them to attempt to make up for their ineptitude. Any business that didn’t want to further insult a customer they inconvenienced would have simply said, «we’re sorry, please accept our apologies a future Ace rental anywhere it is convenient for you in the future». Nope. This Ace is in a deep hole.

Everything seemed to be straight forward. No hidden anything. I booked through the southwest airlines website.
I would use them again.

Short and sweet, as a business traveler, I have experienced the best and the worst related to the challenges of travel.
The ACE team in Austin, particularly Jeanne Priest, ALWAYS go beyond the call to do all they can do to help their customers. Wow! I can’t say enough. They REALLY do care about EACH customer and helping in every way they can to make the experience with ACE a GREAT one.
They have my loyalty and I suggest you try them out. Really, REALLY good people. I recommend them highly!

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. Made a reservation for my wife traveling alone, and she was able to get into Austin earlier than expected. Because she had arrived 2 ½ hours earlier than the reservation was scheduled for, they wanted to charge her an additional full day’s rental. People at the Austin desk were very unhelpful, and regrettably the corporate customer service was equally unhelpful. The only upside was, by the time she was done receiving no assistance from either department, it was time to pick up her car. This is absolutely the last time I rent from Ace. Prices are good, but I’ll spend an extra 30 bucks next time so my family isn’t waiting around in an airport unnecessarily. This company is a textbook example of corporate policies getting in the way of common sense.

Was in town for Austin’s annual SxSW conference. Was very happy with the price (a lot less than the big name car rental agencies) and the service.
The car was standard issue for a rental, was clean & odorless. Took the paid tank option. Easy pick up and drop off (all right there at the terminal). Would use ACE again without question.
Give them a try.

Five stars, you ask? Sure, renting a car isn’t usually the most pleasant of tasks… but apparently Ace stands for awesome!
The deal: I searched for the best rate via Kayak which pointed me to Ace. $ 30/​day, including taxes = $ 50. All good.
The scene: Ace is located in-​terminal, meaning you don’t have to go through the annoying process of waiting for a shuttle to agonizingly transfer you to the rental lot. I walked up, gave them my last name, they pulled my reservation and the sweet staffer hooked me up with an upgrade (I didn’t even have to ask!). I walked to the lot (only about 2 minutes from the counter) and found a shiny new SUV waiting for me. Major score!
Rental car success. Should I ever find myself needing to rent a car in Austin again, I now know who to call.

I rented a car from ACE only a week ago and I my experience was all good. After trying to rent a car through several different car rental websites, using discount codes from AAA & work advantage, through my job, I ended up renting from ACE through one of the travel sites. They had the best prices by far. Once getting off the plane in Austin we made our way to the ACE counter which is right inside the airport. There was absolutely no line & the young lady at the desk was very helpful and very friendly. We skirted around town in a Kia Soul. It was practically brand new & came equipped with everything you would expect on a rental car. Upon our return of the car, we were met by Jeanne, the sales manager, who also was very friendly and helpful. My only disappointment is that there aren’t ACE rent a cars in every major city!

After Vantage did not honor my reservations, I went to Ace where they only got me into a car right away, but gave me the price that Vantage was suppose to give me and gave me a free upgrade. Experienced the BEST customer service at the counter as well as when picking up the car. Ace made a very frustrating day very pleasant! I am definately an Ace customer from now on!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. I returned my car and upon inspection they noted a door ding/​rock chip on the rear passanger door… this written on the check in slip. I was told a manager would call me to discuss the «damage». HUH??? Damage? You could barely SEE the chip. A manager never called me but instead I received a repair bill for $ 622.00. These people are crooks! Steer Clear!!!

They would of gotten a good review if the employee that waited on us had not been so rude and argumentative. First of all, we were on a business trip, flying in around 7:30 in the morning. We go downstairs to the car rental area, find Ace and there are no employees to be found anywhere. They have a counter card that says to go upstairs to the third level parking lot.
So we proceed to walk to the upstairs location, see a sign for ACE with another counter card that says you will have to go downstairs to complete your paperwork and get the keys, still no employees. So getting a little frustrated we proceed back downstairs to the first level again find another ACE location on the other side of the terminal and what do we find there? You guessed it — no employees but another handy dandy counter card that says go upstairs to the third level. At least this counter card has an extension we can call to hopefully talk to a real person. We call the extension and the employee says we are upstairs on the third level but you turn left not right when you come up. So we finally found this employee and tell them that they really need to change their signage because all it directs you to do is to go upstairs/​downstairs over and over again.
He proceeds to argue with us and says the counter card downstairs has a map/​drawing of where we are located. All we are trying to tell him is the signage is confusing and doesn’t direct customers to the right location. He’s still arguing that we didn’t look at the map on the counter card. We literally had to say to him, «Don’t you know better than to argue with a customer.» He’s like I’m not arguing. Geez. It was a very aggravating experience. Next time use Budget or Avis when you fly into Austin because I say employees at both locations and they are the closest ones to reach once you walk outside.
ACE please let your employees know that it’s not okay to argue with customers.

Fox Rent A Car must a brand new company because I had never heard of it. I just happened to come across it when I was looking for a good deal on renting a car while in Austin. Their prices are pretty good, being the lowest compared to the other car rental companies. So, of course, I was hesitant but decided to risk it.
I got a Dodge Caliber for $ 119 for 8 days. You definitely cannot beat that price. While walking to the lot, they have a good selection of rentals although they have a large number of Calibers. Cute car that reminded me of a smaller version of a Toyota Matrix. However, I quickly learned that the Caliber is a gas guzzler.
The nice thing about rentals is that you can try a different car to get a feel of it before you’d even consider buying it. That’s how I fell in love with a Matrix. That’s gonna be my next car!
Anyways, the staff are really friendly and informative. Since they’re new and small, they don’t have a check-​in counter when you return them. So, it’s a small bit of an inconvenience when you have to return the keys. You have to go to the departing area to return the keys and then go up to the arriving section. Usually, this is no biggie. But, I can imagine if you were in a rush to catch your plan, this would be a major distraction.
