I walk in and sit. The bartender is looking right at me. I begin to speak and he turns… never acknowledges my presence, but sees to other customers. Another employee comes over using his cell to tell the bartender something, but before he does, he speaks to my friend, who sat down after me. After he tells the bartender his spill, the bartender passes by us, and in passing, says, «be with y’all in a minute(not even looking our way).» At this point… we leave. I don’t ever plan to return again.

Don’t waste your time playing bingo. The drag Queens are horrible. I won at bingo. They wouldn’t pay since I didn’t yell BINGO loud enough. They did that to more than one person. They need a lesson on how to treat their customers. I won’t be back.

Last night before going to Bout Time II I wrote a review on their website stating that for the most part I liked it there and would continue to go. My, my. What a difference a few hours and a bad bartender will make. Before I left home I transferred money to my MasterCard for the evening. Didn’t have any trouble until the second drink when he said the card declined. Apparently the transfer of funds would take 24 hrs. Eventually both drinks went thru. Ordered a beer before leaving. Rejected again. The bartender returned my card and with cold, steel look on his face and stated«YOUNEEDTOGETYOURLIFETOGETHER»! I was stunned and very speechless and left very angry. So I’m the one who should have been responsible for my finances. I’ll own it. But was that judgemental statement really necessary from this bartender? YES, you know who you are. And YESCAYEMGMT you have a good idea. This person has his own agenda. He has a following and caters to some of the bar clicks. On one occasion, I waited 20 minutes and he was still talking to his«friends». I switched sides and told Scott that I waited long enough. He reprimanded this guy. I went outside and who’s following me? The bartender. He was pissed that I said something to the manager and motioned for me to keep my mouth zipped. On another occasion, this guy was so drunk, he rested his chin on the bar and said«what do you want». Before they started weighing the liquors, there were MANY free shot passed out to «friends» with no money exchange. And, numerous times I’ve seen no bartender at one end of the bar because he was outside smoking and socializing(including last night). He had to be reminded that he was still working. Somebody in CAYE Management get a clue. This bartender stands out like a sore thumb. I’m just appalled by his comment. I will now drink in the straightest bar in Austin before I will sit at your bar. AND, I’ll pass the word around.

About Time was a roadside dive gay bar outside of Austin, near Round Rock of IH35. It was a mix of tranny chasing Cowboys, sexy suburban twinks, and interesting bar flys. When it closed down, I had heard it was opening a new location in Austin proper and had anticipated a visit to this more raw outside the gay circuit boy box of queer culture. On a mid week bar hop I awoke in the car from an impromptu disco nap after a long shift of birthday day drinking. A new patio strung with happy Christmas lights seemed as comfortable as the ring of big box chain hotels that surrounded it. Behind a Chilis, About Time II, is a large gay party boat complex, that would rival any modern straight country dancing venue. When we entered a parade of drag queens waltzed by in runway face, while two poker tables kept large groups entertained. The crowd was diverse and having a good time. The place was large and seemed busy for a Thursday with two separate outdoor patios and a drag show. This old dive bar has revamped itself into a sparkling cool Cinderella ready for an urban ball. The crowd is friendly and the eye candy is good.

There are no words to properly encapsulate how much I love Bout Time II. Bout Time II welcomes me with wide open arms, no matter my physical, emotional, or spiritual state. Think about it this way: When I am asked in my philosophy classes to envision a utopian perfect America, one in which all classes, creeds, colors, and orientations are wholly accepted, I envision the Bout Time II dance floor at 1:27AM on a Friday night. Look at me, getting all sappy and whatnot. Bout Time II will do that to a man. I love Bout Time II.

We enjoy the bar from time to time. Work gets in our way. The staff is professional and always up beat. Love the Baptist Women when they perform. Scott and Lance are favorites. Thanks for such a great venue. The volleyball court is among the best. Best of luck into the future. Terry and Nathan

Service was bad. Waited 25 minutes for a cocktail. The out right in your face drug dealing that was going on was such a turn off. Watching off duty staff making their own shots and not paying for them made me think I don’t wanna come back again. I’ll not be back to this place..

When a man loves a woman… When a man, dressed as a woman, approaches you and your friend and asks to buy you drinks, you know the evening is off to a great storytelling start. He says this is only the second time in his life dressing as a woman. He tells you a story about how, when he was in 3rd grade, he saw two girls playing very closely together, and ever since then his fantasy has been to get between them… it is all a tad confusing. I mean, interesting. He says he is a lesbian, so we let him into our«two nice girls playing very closely» club for the evening. He was lovely and his legs were by far the most incredible pair in turquoise short shorts in the room. Toned and shaved and feminine and it was all quite curious how he, a lesbian man dressed as a woman, was dirty dancing with us, and then asking to go home with us. It is not even like I digress. THISISHOWTHEWHOLENIGHTWENT. My first night at the BT2 was a raging success, in great part due to Snuggly who was, by far, the best dancer in the place. She taught a random novice dude how to pole dance and graciously made a dollah hollah in his pants as he tried the upside down move she had just taught him. The bartenders are super nice, the dance floor is super small, drinks are strong and no one really cares how you dress or how you act as long as everyone is respected. I felt like I was in San Francisco for a minute. It is not fancy and not pretentious and you are not important. Perfect. Three hours later we left, sated from wild fun dancing where all freak flags fly freely and no one cares a lick.

Winner of best place to wobble. And winner of best response to my response of being asked to dance(I said«later for sure»): «Well HOWMUCH later?» And then there’s the male cross dresser that wants lesbians only — I love that this place makes even a gay person wonder how some things work — ?!? ? And not lastly for sure, there’s some event like a random pole dancing guy that temporarily hurts himself while twirling upside down like a horizontal wishbone. I hope he’s found that dollar bill I saw«land» in his crack by now! !

Mixed feelings on this place. Pros: great dance floor space. Lots of places to sit. Suitable for fairly large groups. Friendly staff. Nice décor. Great places to mingle and talk outside. Cons: inconsistent DJs. Sometimes good and sometimes wetched. This place is not very lesbian friendly.

Really enjoyed myself last night. They had an amateur strip off which was a lot of fun to watch. Friendly staff and people. Also they had a female DJ who actually PLAYSTOP40MUSIC.(no one else in Austin seems to do that from what i’ve seen) So if you want to dance this is a good spot!

I like this little spot. I remember back when it was at a different location, and the parking lot was awful. I’m glad they moved! This one is right near the Pappadeaux and Pappasitos. Its a cool spot to go hang out with my LGBT community. The bar was huge with plenty of seating. You have the cute cocktail boys with serving shots in their undies. There is a outdoor patio as well. The dance floor is located at the end of the bar followed by a pool table. And large TV monitors are throughout the bar. I thought it was a great location with plenty of parking and good fun.

One of my best friends was visiting from LA and I came in with my «family» to celebrate the new year. All I can say is Gordon is amazing. And fabulous for that matter. Our experience there was remarkable and I highly recommend this bar. Todd was great too, and I will be coming back as often as possible. Thank you so much, happy new year!

Nice place, enjoyed the surroundings. However very cliquish, lol only one bartender talked with me. I sat alone at one bar, the bartender couldn’t even ask me if I wanted another drink. Liked the bar asthetics but …

There are several bars in Austin that I love to go to. This is a new one for me. Lance is amazing and sweet. Big boy sizes for drinks made this even better.

Bout Time II; IE: BT2, has once again proven its place in our hearts as our bar home away from home. There are far and few places where one can go and instantly feel like one of the family. Great service, great prices, great entertainment, but most of all… Great Friends! You can pick your favorite bartender but you would be doing yourself an injustice! Everyone of them are top notch, friendly, entertaining and pretty darn easy on the eyes.

I will admit I was a little scared going in here. But, this place impressed me. They have two bars. One small, and one that wraps around the well like at Oil Can’s, but with more classy flare. I had a great time in here. It was your typical neighborhood bar. Both straight and gay were in attendance and partying it up. That’s how I like to roll. No pressure, no dumb shit. Just good times and good drinks. I made a lot of friends here last night. Some I will keep, others, I will forget(purposely). This bar is by far a step up from the other ’bout time. However, the other bar has a volley ball court. Who cares when you have cool people and good alcohol? Oh, and let me give a shout out to the BT Gordon. Spot on bf! I’m thinking of doing a UYE here.
