Buffalo Exchange

Took a variety of clothing anything from designer (bebe/​bcbg/​Michael Kors etc) to no brand name fashion … anything from dressy to casual but they didn’t take anything … when I asked them why they said «your stuff is too dressy» hahhaahhah I had two girls working the counter that look like umpa lumpa that jumped out of a poke ball… maybe first they should fix their hair and their self image rather than point fingers at people’s fashion wear… they were selling high heels in their store that was all glitter platform my dresses would go perfect with those… maybe the problem wasn’t my wardrobe it was your lack of class and education and confidence in self image. But no worries instead of selling those clothes are no at goodwill where someone will appreciate them and be happy when they put them on and I don’t have to be talked to like I’m less than a human.

Usually a great place to sell. Until today… the people in front of me walked away having sold nothing. And I was disappointed to be next and have to have my clothes sorted by the woman who just did theirs. She seemed personally offended when I responded, «no, no plans tonight,» upon her asking what I was up to. She carried on, «well, have you had dinner yet?» I said, «no.» And she said, «I hope you plan to have dinner.» The entire dialogue was insanely awkward. I felt like she was forcing conversation with me and judging my clothes as she folded them all up into the no pile. So, as I thought, she took nothing of mine. Even had what they consider desirable brands, Rag and Bone, J Crew, vintage Pendleton, etc… There was something about her ‘tude that really put me off. Stick her in the back, handing out dressing room tags, not interacting with loyal customers who both shop and sell here. And yes, maybe all of my items were not buffalo exchange worthy, that may be the case, but having to feel so uncomfortable and almost pitied by the buyer is really what put me off.

This place is picky. All of my clothes are from Nordstrom, Zara, or Urban Outfitters and in great clean condition. I cleaned out my entire closet and was hoping to get a decent amount of dough. They selected about 8 out of the 200 items I brought in — what a rip

This place sucks. The girls that work there are super nice but i brought I’m good quality jeans and they rejected them. So much for teenage bs. So Goodwill it is. I’ve been here twice and both times the experience was shit. Boo!!! You suck!!! I secretly think they pick pocked a pair of jeans.

This review is strictly about shopping, not selling at Buffalo. I don’t sell my used clothes here because they are ridiculously picky and never accept anything I bring in. Though I understand that’s annoying to some reviewers, I also think it’s directly related to why I love shopping here so much. Their inventory is fantastic! I always find a dozen items that I love and I don’t have to waste time going through a ton of inventory to find things I like. Since I’m not a big shopper, this makes the experience bearable and even enjoyable.
Their men’s selection is spot on too! My boyfriend has found some great shirts, jeans, & slacks here. Pearl snaps galore!
Buffalo is one of my favorite things that started in my hometown of Tucson, AZ! (It’s also one of the only things…)

I finally cleaned my closet, after 20 years of active shopping and collecting, and went in to Buffalo Exchange with 7 huge bags of clothes. Now, I understand that taste is subjective and that this store might not be my demographic, but I used to be a stylist and actually used to source for a vintage store, so I feel like my taste is reasonable. From the 7 bags of clothes, the Buffalo Exchange rep found exactly 4 items she would purchase — 1 of which was a pair of jeans that someone else left at my house (!) — giving me a whopping $ 20 total. She passed on vintage clothes, Anthropologie finds, several Pearl Snap shirts, a slew of cute dresses, and some really great labels … Looking around at what was in the store, crappy sweaters and sweatshirts, I’m confused!

This location is pretty big compared to most other Buffalo Exchange stores in Texas. There is usually a great variety of options to choose from. If you go to UT or ACC Rio Grande, this is a great place to shop. It’s very close to both campuses. It is also conveniently located near many eateries. You can easily explore Austin by foot, get some shopping in, and grab a bite to eat.

I just don’t really love this resale place. The location is good, if you live on campus or work near campus, but that’s about it. The selection is large, but I feel the prices are way high for resale items (I saw Ivanka Trump heels for $ 45 used and Calvin Klein heels for $ 32). I can beat those prices for new items on a good day at Marshall’s or Ross. I guess what I like about resale shopping is scoring an awesome deal, and this place just doesn’t scratch that itch for me. From the look on people’s faces who are trying to resell things, I don’t think I’d ever take my stuff here to sell either because the rate of return seems very low. Wish I could give them more love, but 2 stars is all this place warrants.

I would like to thank Cat for being my buyer today. She was awesome and bought a great deal of my items from me. The next time I visit, I will be buying or trading.

The staff members here dress like clowns and are typically pretty stuck up about it. They buy things in bulk now, which hardly makes this place original.
The last time I tried to sell something, the woman assisting me passed up a pair of sandals. When a woman, in an obvious management position, saw this she came rushing over and offered me $ 24 for them. Now, I’m not too sure what type of sandals they were. I mean, they did belong to my mom, who isn’t cheap. Just saying that, that in itself goes to show the knowledge of their buying staff.
Overall, you can find a few cute things here, if you can stomach the staff. I myself would rather pay a few extra bucks to get something brand new and not covered in crotch/​pit stains.

This afternoon I walked in to sell a Zara suit and another pair of Zara trousers (in great condition, clean, and of which I spent a good hour ironing last night), and noticed the line to sell clothes was pretty long. I go to the counter and ask if they’d be interested in these 3 items and am told «We don’t usually buy suits but oh yeah — that’s Zara? We definitely buy Zara.» Again I confirm that it will be worth waiting in line and the girl behind the register agrees. 40 long minutes later my name is called. A different girl takes a few seconds to look at the clothes, and says «ok we’re going to pass». I told her I was assured by one of her coworkers that Zara suits are bought, and that’s the only reason why I waited 40 minutes in the middle of my day. She looks at the manager who says, «Sorry lady» in a snotty tone.
Horrible customer service and I definitely did not appreciate the attitude!

Oh my gosh, what an amazing experience I had.
I didn’t come in to shop but I did have a lot of shoes, purses, and clothes to sell.
I don’t remember the girls name but she was sooo sweet and thankfully she didn’t mind going through all the clothes I had.
Ended up earning $ 37 cash and donated the rest of my clothes! :)
The line wasn’t very long either and it was just a positive vibe in the whole store.
All the employees are amazing and I’d definitely come back!

I can only review based on a buying standpoint.
I’m in love with this place.
It’s like a Plato’s Closet that was made for me and the stuff I wear. I got two high-​waisted, perfectly fitting, NICE, almost new pairs of jeans that I’m absolutely in love with. $ 40. Can’t complain! I’d spend more than that for the exact thing at the stores they’re from.
Now, I understand that this could probably be a hit or miss type place depending on who dropped what off. However, if you’re like me and like the hunt, I would definitely go here. It’s like a scavenger hunt for awesomeness. Can’t beat it!
Everyone working the day I went was also super fun and funky. My kind of people! I also got to give 5 cents for not taking a bag to Austin Pets Alive. Not much, but it’s something!

They are a little pricey but they have some good finds and well organized. They allow 6 per dressing room and well lit. There is a lot of rooms so you don’t have to wait. Everytime I come in the workers greet us and always helpful when I am in search.
BEWARE they used to let people use the restrooms but I guess they were having issues. Idk. But you will have to go to the dad station or spiderhouse to use a bathro
