This is a great restaurant! Ambiance was amazing and the food was delicious. This place has created amazing flavors through classic simplicity. I would highly highly recommend!

This was my second visit to Clarks. This time we came on a Sunday for the ½ off wine happy hour to celebrate my friends birthday. The food was good as always. We each got a entrée and I ordered a half dozen oysters and a couple appetizers for everyone. I got the scallops which were incredibly tender and light. My girlfriend got the burger which was the size of a slider but was surprisingly full of flavor and filled her up. My friends got a lobster roll and one of the grilled fish of the days. Everything was really good. One thing that my girlfriend noticed was how pricey the food was, especially when we compared it to our recent trip to New York. My girlfriend and I went to a seafood restaurant in Chelsea market to have dinner and the oysters and lobster roll that we had there were cheaper than in Austin. The lobster roll was significantly cheaper by around $ 5. But I guess it’s expected since almost all of McGuire-Moorman establishments(i.e. Josephine house, Elizabeth’s café, Perla’s) are overpriced. It’s okay though because I dine at $$$ restaurants half for the food and half for the experience/atmosphere.

Well, I so badly want to give more stars because I wanted to like this place for so long. The food was great in flavor and for that I would totally give more stars; however, we waited way too long to receive our food. Even the first round of oysters took forever and when they did arrive, apparently the server brought the wrong ones ! Ughhh, when you’re starving it isn’t nice to tease ! We ordered the lobster roll and shrimp/crab Louie and both were delicious. Flavorful on both orders and meaty for their size. Our service was ok, nothing to rave about how we. We did meet a very fun woman who helped make our order decision nice and easy! Her food looked amazing and smelled divine, so we took her expert advice willingly. Clarks is a cute spot and i liked the décor, but with so many options, I just needed more. Bummer.

I had been wanting to try this place out for a while now. Finally went when my mother in law was in town and it was everything and more. We had a late lunch reservation. Arrived early and sat at the bar. The bartenders were very nice. We ordered a dozen of various oysters and they were all very delicious. My mother in law ordered the shrimp on toast and that will be my go to in the future. Can’t wait to come back here!

I had been meaning to check this place out for quite some time and finally made it late one evening. We came around 10PM and the place was still quite busy. In fact, we were seated at the outside bar. There were no indoor seats available. I guess you need reservations for this place. It is on the small side. I had to try the oysters. I like oysters but am not an expert by any means. I tried a few which were tasty. After trying several, you can tell the difference between different oysters. Briny! They also brought sourdough to the table. The bread was quite good. The butter was also a nice touch. I also had the cioppino(fishermen’s stew). The broth was very flavorful. The stew contained a lot of great seafood including shrimp, fish, clams, mussels, crab and more. It came with great slice of garlic bread. The wine list was moderate. It was a little on the pricey side I thought. They also have decent beer selection. I like this place. Good food but portions are a little on the small side. A little on the pricey side. But I will return. Likely for happy hour.

A trendy, cute place with some extraordinary flavors. Good attentive service(I recommend that you have a reservation if you can). Fresh scones and bread with butter and fresh berry jam to keep you happy while they prepare your selections. We picked two different regions for our oysters and enjoyed both tremendously. Sweet and firm with great sauces and fresh grated horseradish. So good! We tried the lobster roll … Always yummy and also the creamy cheesy grits. I love a good pot of grits. Excellent selections and nothing left on our plates. The real hidden treasure was the key lime pie for desert. Their chef makes it from scratch with perfect balances of sweet and sour and a light crust that doesn’t take anything away from this dish. Top it with a swish of warm meringue makes each bite of pie perfect. Wow. Lucky us on a Saturday morning!!!

What a cute little place. We sat outside and started our meal with some fresh oysters. I then moved on to a heaping pile of delicious mussels. My coworker ordered the crab cake entrée and was a little disappointed it only included one cake. As an entrée it wasn’t enough food to fill him up. Appetizer I would assume one cake but entrée I expect two. We shared a bunch of desserts which didn’t disappoint and the fruity sorbet we had was a stand out. I would definitely recommend this place when you’ve had your fill of BBQ in Austin.

I felt like eating oysters at 10:30 pm. Unilocal led me to this gem. Quiet clean and pristine oyster bar on west 6th. Not dirty 6th. Parking is ok. Dim lights and nice waiters. I feel under dressed with a t, jeans and tennis. I ordered 6 oysters. Cool thing is they have 16 diff types of oysters from different areas. To me, they all taste good but the sizes vary. Noting drastic. $ 20 for 6 oysters is a lot but you get the full experience of what an oyster truly is. You can watch them shuck the oysters as well. Looks easy but I know is truly an art. I got a water but the bar looks well stacked. They were about to close at 11 but they welcomed me in. Cool beans

Always LOVE this place. Very small place with limited seating inside and out, but come on a Saturday or Sunday in the mid-afternoon and you may find yourself staying here for quite a while(specials start at 3pm on Sunday). If you are outside its fun to watch the buzz on 6th street and inside there is a beautiful fish tank that divides the tables from the bar. The raw bar is absolutely amazing! Wonderful selection of oysters and the flavor of the vinegar dipping sauce perfectly complements the oysters. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The seafood tower($ 120) included a lovely variety of items beyond just shrimp and crab. Steak tartare has brilliant flavor and the Brussels sprouts were good(but I’d save room for other things on the menu). And I know this is strange for an Oyster Bar, but they may have one of the best burgers in all of Austin(definitely order the fries!).

Went there on December 26th, this place has fabulous food!!! I would go back there in a heart beat! I ordered the ceviche and it was the BEST I have ever eaten for the main I had the Bronzino… Light and delicious!!! If you love fresh seafood, then Clarks is a MUST!

Great food, interesting wine list, beautiful interior, good service. I was immediately charmed when I walked into Clark’s. The interior is bright white and serene, with a beachy theme to the décor. The space is small but inviting, and you can see the oyster shuckers, bartenders and servers bustling about behind the bar. The food is outstanding. Everyone talks about the burger for good reason. It’s really good. Small, but packed with flavor. The best part of the burger is the patty itself, juicy and rich and savory. The fries are of the shoestring variety and are perfectly salty. We also had the beef tartare and the clam chowder. The clam chowder was SO good. It didn’t just rely on the richness of butter and cream — rather, it extracted all the flavors from its ingredients and used the cream to enhance. Excellent. Oysters were of course on offer, and they did not disappoint. The ones from the Pacific Northwest are my go to, and they were expertly shucked. The wine list was carefully curated with some fantastic and exciting wines. Given the small production of most of the wines listed, I expect the wine list will change often. That’s a good thing. They have some good local beers on tap, and an extensive list of fun and exciting cocktails. The wine list was too good to pass up, so I didn’t enjoy any of the latter, but they deserved a mention. Finally, the happy hour is amazing. On Saturdays from 3 – 6 pm, all wine is 50% off by the bottle, and oysters enjoy a $ 0.50 discount per oyster. This is crazy. Also, reservations are usually blocked off during this time, so you can either reserve a spot 15 – 30 minutes before 3 pm and wait it out until Happy Hour or just walk in. I was shocked to see how few people were taking advantage of the half-priced wines, but there ya go. I will definitely be back for more!

Who doesn’t want to try oysters from different ends of the earth? Fresh, flavorful. What could go wrong other than spending your entire week’s paycheck here cause it’s so dang good? I don’t mind.

I’ve been to Clark’s twice now and it is a lovely experience every time. The food has been great each time and the atmosphere is classy without being stuffy. I recommend calling ahead for reservations. They also have a patio out front. They bring bread and butter to start off the meal with my favorite — French radishes! If you have never had them, put a little of the large flake salt on them and take the leap. Mmm so good and not as bitter as regular radishes. Sprinkle a little of the salt on your buttered bread as well. Yum! We’ve had our server choose a selection of oysters each time. I love oysters and they have a good selection here. I LOVE cocktail sauce, real horseradish, and vinegar, although I tend to eat the oyster first with just a little lemon and then fill the shell with the sauce and horseradish and eat that separately! The cocktails we’ve had have been strong(how I like them) and we really enjoyed the seviche, the crudo plate, and the giant scallops that were on special. The Mac and cheese with crab looks epic but we haven’t ordered it yet. The burger here is also delicious($ 16) but don’t let the size fool you when they bring it out — it is quite filling. I’ve really enjoyed both of the date nights I’ve had here and recommend you check it out.

Love this place. Great vibe & great food but pricy. For 2 people: 2 dozen oysters, 2 Lobster Rolls, 1 Crude plate, 1 beer &1 blueberry lemonade $ 200. It’s a small spot & fairly busy so go during the week/day to avoid a long wait. The staff was very kind as well.

The Crudo plate — sweet baby jesus! See picture. Came here for a last minute Valentine’s Day brunch. Place was expectedly packed. Posted up at the communal table to the inside left. This place is pretty small, you will be next to people, but it does bring back those North East elbow to elbow brunch vibes. I’m a fan. Malpeque Oysters: Might have been the best Malpeque’s I’ve ever had. Light-bodied and clean on the finish. Easy to eat, with the perfect balance of sweetness, and brine. Red Point Oysters: Semi salty, but sweet firm flesh with a fruity finish. These were the winners on the plate! Crudo Plate: Assorted fresh slivers of fish in a Wasabi & Lemon Vinaigrette, Capers, Red Onion, Chive. By far my favorite dish of the day. This is a MUSTORDER!!! Dressed Oyster: Cucumber & Honey Vinaigrette, Mint, and Crispy Shallot. Possibly could have used a little less crispy shallot, but still recommend ordering these! Classic Steak Tartare: Peeler Farms Egg, Herb Salad, and Grilled Toast.(Don’t order this) it’s just an epic failure all around. The End. Stay Away. All in all, this was a delicious brunch. The bill will add up quickly, maybe it was the plethora of Mimosa’s at $ 8 a pop. They were mighty tasty though! Come check it out and forget about the pricing! Nice beach atmosphere, you’ll forget you’re in Austin for a moment. Refreshing brunch spot that will remind you of some North East locations. A true 4 star here!

We started with a half dozen oysters, two ‘Dressed’ and four server’s choice. They were all amazing, and complimented nicely with freshly grated horseradish. We then shared the Shells and Cheese with Crab, and the Lobster Roll with homemade shoestring fries. Everything was amazing. The only reasons Clark’s didn’t get five stars are because of the parking and the seating. The lot only accommodates five cars, which isn’t terrible in and of itself given the location, but it took me 10 minutes to find a spot on one of the neighboring streets at 11:30AM on a Tuesday. The seating inside was a little too claustrophobic for me. The tables are literally right next to each other. That said, we were able to get a table outside which was much better. I would definitely recommend making a reservation.

This quaint seafood and raw bar restaurant is the perfect place to grab a beer and some fresh raw oysters after a long week of work. The staff is elegant and helpful in their presence and attentiveness. The décor is simple and clean, allowing for the food to truly take center stage here. The food is perfectly portioned and their raw oyster selection is quite the catch in this BBQ filled city. Great place for a brunch with friends or to try something new and raw to eat. A must try when exploring West 6th.

Came here for the burger challenge and was disappointed. The burger had a lot of potential but was poorly prepared. The space is small but attractive. Parking is extremely limited.

I loved Clark’s. I had raw oysters, a crab cake, and crab shells and cheese. All were amazing! Raw oysters: you have a selection between east coast, west coast, large, small, sweet or briny. You can order 1, or 20(you’re paying per oyster), and the mignonette and shaved horseradish are excellent with them. Crab cake: I’d dare to say that this cake was one of the best I’ve ever had! Crab shells and cheese: A wonderful, rich side. You can share this with someone(or not!) I will definitely be back to Clark’s if I’m ever hanging out in Austin on West 6th!

This beautiful Clarksville space boasts beautiful, fresh seafood, a bright, sunlit ambiance, and a great staff. Drawbacks? All of this comes at a price. $CHA-CHING$ Not to worry though! It’s got a great happy hour M-F, 3 – 6 with 50 cents off oysters, ½ off burgers, and $ 5 martinis/beer. On weekends you get the same deal on oysters, and ½ off bottles of wine. Would this place impress a date? Hell yes! I don’t care if Quasi Modo asks me out, if he says«I’ll buy you dinner at Clark’s,» you best believe I’m swiping right!
