I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this place. I just recently moved into the area after having lived in South Austin for 15 years(where there is NO good Chinese food, authentic or American style) and have been looking for that perfect Chinese takeaway. This hits all the marks. It’s STUPIDLY cheap for lunch, I think less than $ 7, portions were huge, they are fast, close by, have plenty of parking. The eggrolls aren’t those same gross ones I find every where else in North Austin. The guys working there were really cool and friendly. They also told me they don’t use chicken stock in their soups any more so the hot and sour is vegetarian! I normally have to give my soup away, so that was a plus. They even give you those crunchy wonton strips for free with your lunch order, which go perfectly with their ginger dipping sauce if you ask for some on the side. If you are wanting something fancy with chickens hanging in the window this is not supposed to be authentic Chinese or Szechuan, there are other places for that. This is a typical American Chinese place, no frills, reliable, and definitely a go-to place for something fast and cheap.

Excellent food and generous portions, Eggroll express is my goto place for chinese food. The lunch special is hard to beat with egg roll, rice and main entrée for less than 10 $ it has plenty of food left over for a snack. Its mostly takeout or delivery with 2 small tables inside I have used on the outdoor seating. Drinks are limited to the bottled variety and the flavor could be better(or maybe I am biased).

I may have ordered the wrong dish, but the combination lo mein I spent my money on wasn’t good at all. It was bland and didn’t taste like anything else I’ve had. I probably should’ve ordered another dish, but I will not be back.

My new go to Chinese food! Both times I have eaten there the food has been amazing! Its hard to find a Chinese food restaurant that cooks broccoli just the way I like it(not too raw and not too soft)! For the amount of food and the cost I am very pleased! The staff is very friendly as well. I placed my order online and it was ready by the time I got there! You can’t beat that.

Anytime I move to a new place, I always look for a go-to Chinese joint. You never know when the weather is going to be gross out, or when you want to take a break from eating salads, or when you just want to be obscenely bad and indulge in the worst(or best) food there is out there. This place is insanely close to my office and home, so I have to make a stop whenever I have a craving. It’s really easy to call in your order and they even have a website that you can order on. The food has been consistent every time and the service has been super friendly! Their eggrolls resemble taquitos moreso than real eggrolls but I will eat them all day! Their lunch special provides the most value as you are getting an order of soup, eggroll, and entrée for less than $ 8. I usually have enough for 2.5 servings so I think that is a ton of food! I need to stop writing about it or I will order some General Tso chicken to get rid of this weekend hangover.

Yum. Weird, but it’s like the good«mall Asian» type of food. That’s all I can think of. Probably loaded with MSG cause I’m been craving it every few days. Savory meat. Yum sauces.

Super quick, always good. I wouldn’t say this is the best Asian cuisine but, it is fantastic for the price you pay and the amount of food you receive. It’s a very small(hard to eat inside) but the staff is always friendly. The portions are very big, I usually have a full meal worth of leftovers.

Good food, good prices. I like how they give you so much, for sure you can have two or three meals off of one plate.

I had lunch here last week as I was wanting Chinese and their prices seemed dirt cheap. $ 6.45 for a chicken dish, fried rice, eggroll and soup. Can’t beat it! The service was great too. That said, I had some observations that I thought I’d share. A. It’s primarily take out. They have 2 tables inside and one outside but the one outside is literally on the sidewalk. B. The fried rice is literally just rice. No vegetables, no egg, nothing. C. There was no wontons for the hot & sour soup. This isn’t a deal breaker but I’ve come to expect wontons with that soup. D. The chicken portion seemed small and very minimal veggies with it. I’m sure this is great if you live in the area and don’t want to pay for delivery and/or going into a bigger place. That said, it was just OK.

Sorry. hate to submit reviews like this… but seriously… worst Asian food I’ve ever had. Their General S. Chicken was gummy, huge pieces, and probably the toughest and driest chicken I’ve ever had. The«fried» rice was brown in color… that’s it… they tossed some soy on white rice and viola. The Hot & Sour soup was just okay. The egg roll was a grease bomb. I won’t be back… sorry guys.

I love that Eggroll Express has online ordering. That makes my life so much easier! I went to pick up my food ten minutes after ordering and was pleasantly surprised when it was ready. That was quick! I ordered chicken fried rice, egg drop soup, veggie eggrolls, and crab rangoons. Everything was good and they added their own spin to these items. The egg drop soup has ground meat(I think pork?). The crab rangoons have lots of black pepper and so do the eggrolls. I love pepper so that was a plus! The fried rice didn’t have the standard peas and carrots which threw me off. It was good though… But I was missing the veggies. Overall great experience. I would eat here again!

My Husband and I eat here at least once a week. In our opinion, it is better than any other Chinese food restaurant we’ve been to. It is a family owned business so they greet us by 1st name there and provide personalized customer service. They have the best egg rolls I’ve ever tasted. I order about 30 of them every Saturday for my team at Apple and they all agree!

Average food, good service but they totally messed up in our take out. They gave us less food than what we paid for! So better check out before you take your order home

This place is solid. I’ve been pleased each time I’ve come here. Staff is nice and the food has been consistently good. Will be back. I usually get wonton soup and shrimp fried rice. Their beef lo mein is also good.

I came here for lunch and it came out fast and hot! A lot of food for a great price. The fried tofu and garlic sauce was amazing. Staff is very friendly and I got a free egg roll here upon Unilocal check in. I am definitely coming back.

Yummy, fresh food. Very very good value for the Austin area. The dinner can easily feed two people. Lunch comes with goodies. The first time I ordered I got a variety and it was all wonderful. I really like the way they cook their tofu. If I could give a thousand stars for their beef teriyaki, I would. It’s a great price, and it’s a bunch of meat on a bed of cabbage, and tastes AMAZING!!! I’ve ordered online every time and love it. You can specify a time, so like today when I was traveling back I was able to order my food and set the time I’d be back in town. I really like that you can order online and pay at the store or when it’s delivered. I also like that the site is compatible with Windows phones. There is a popular food ordering website that I can’t use because it literally will not let me past a certain point in the ordering process. The service used by Eggroll Express works perfectly and emails you your order.

Very happy with the food experience we just had at Eggroll Express. I’ll be honest, Lotus Garden used to be our favorite Chinese spot here in North Austin but they vanished so we moved onto China Café. We always just ignored Eggroll because they had a small menu. Glad we decided to try them out again though. Ordered kung pao chicken(extra spicy), pork fried rice and the triple delight. I was very happy with the level of heat in every bite of the kung pao(sometimes restaurants would just add extra red peppers in the dish that didn’t affect the whole dish) chicken however I wish it would’ve came with peanuts. It also had a nice hint of fresh ginger. The pork fried rice was very good and had that«red» pork that seems hard to find. My wife enjoyed her triple delight. Every dish met exceeded our expectations and tasted like they were made with fresh ingredients. The menu seems to have expanded since I last had eggroll express so this will probably be our go-to Chinese place. Location and ease of picking up the takeout is a bif plus too.

I have a confession: My husband and I eat here almost once a week. The woman that usually works the front is SO sweet. The food is priced VERY well, they give you incredibly large portions and the food is so, so good. Super flavorful and they make your food fast. Usually under 10 minutes. I’ve never used their delivery or online feature, but I would like to add that they have given me the wrong kind of rice twice. Still deserving of five stars, though!

Dumplings were slightly burnt, no worries still delicious. Egg soup was to die for. The delivery driver is my problem here. Oh… my…goodness. I go out to this guys car and it was the worst rotting sun baked wet cigarette smell ever. The car was unbelievably filthy. The guy was greasy, filthy shirt and was clearly smoking on the way to deliver my food. He handed me my food over the passenger seat with dirty fingers. He was friendly, really sweet guy. I tipped him well for a speedy delivery but I won’t be ordering for delivery again anytime soon. Yuck.

This is our family’s «go-to» easy dinner of generic Chinese food. Close to the house and quick on delivery, I’ve never had anything that was below what I expected. What this is: A. About what you’d hope for in take-out Chinese B. Edible, clearly not toxic. This is not: A. Magical B. EXTRAORDINARY C. Life-changing D. 100% Authentic It’s just generic Americanized riffs on Chinese(some semi-legit) dishes. If you know that going in, you’ll enjoy the food that much more. Plus they aren’t stingy with the portions as far as I’ve seen so there is always cold Chinese to eat the next day for breakfast… OHDON’T MAKETHATFACE — COLDCHINESEFOODISAWESOMEFORBREAKFAST.
