Furniture In the Raw

I would like to be able to rate my experience higher than 5 stars. I started working with Heidi Barrick in April, spending an entire day emailing back and forth with questions, request for pictures, and price quotes for 2 different completely bedroom sets. (I live in Richardson, TX and the store is located in Austin, so I was buying site unseen (except for ton of pictures Heidi sent from the store). It took a long time for me to decide and Heidi was infinitely patient in answering questions and sending pictures. After I made my selection I remember her saying I wouldn’t be disappointed. I just received the furniture and she was right. I am absolutely thrilled with my furniture. It is exactly what I wanted. Not only is it beautiful, the finishing is gorgeous and you can definitely tell it is quality furniture. I will definitely be buying my dining room set from them. So easy to work with, from beginning to end. The delivery went smoothly — very courteous. If you want quality wood furniture, I will repeat what Heidi told me — you won’t be disappointed!

I rarely write a terrible review, but this one i MUST share. Today, my wife and I walked back into the store to get an update on our order, mind you — we placed the order back in the last week of March.
Today, the sales associates who greeted us were warm and friendly as the two times we’ve been in there prior, however when we were told to head towards the back to look up our order — well, that’s the reason i write this review. Imagine if you will, placing an order back in March and having to call in May to see if there is an update. My wife called and discovered our order would be delayed… sad part is, we would have never found out had my wife not called. Whomever she spoke to slightly apologized and simply said it would be another 3 — 4 weeks.
Which brings us to my post today, we went in to see if someone could give us an update or better understanding of why our order was delayed. I was informed the order would come in sometime in the first week of July… July? I couldn’t believe my ears, but what made it worse and caused me to take time out to write this post is the lack of any emotion:
1. I was told the order could not be verified because of Memorial Day, but the woman who was helping mumbled to herself: «I was supposed to get an update on Friday (last Friday)»…and now she couldn’t get an update until Tuesday.
Not once did either of the women behind the counter apologize, or offer me any other solution. They simply stated: «we have to check on orders» and «when this happens i have to call». Neither of which makes my wife and I feel any better as customers.
In fact, as i stood there simply appalled, they didn’t really say anything to me… I might as well have walked away or disappeared and they wouldn’t have bothered to do or say anything. While the furniture is great quality and the sales associate who helped us was very friendly — dealing with the staff in the back makes me want to cancel the entire order.
My wife and i were back in the store to get an update on our order and to look at a bunk bed… after the horrendous and incredible lack of any semblance of customer service I walked over to my wife and we left.
Great furniture, good sales experience, but don’t expect any customer service from the back!!!

Having recently moved to a house in Austin from a condo in Atlanta I needed quite a bit of furniture. I found that the prices and selection at Furniture in the Raw couldn’t be beat. I just had my new master bedroom set delivered and couldn’t be happier with it. Came in 8 weeks just as they promised. My salesman Derrick was so helpful in picking out the right set, they had so many to choose from! It took a couple visits to decide but the quality of the Whitewood Shaker bedroom won me over with the drawers being all solid wood and having full metal extension glides. I do appreciate how patient and helpful the staff was The finish that the manufacturer uses makes it impervious to water stains. They had it custom finished for us in a new distressed finish. Brand new solid wood furniture made to look rustic and worn. Also, kudos to the delivery crew for setting it all up so nicely for us! So happy that our master retreat is finally finished! Thanks again Furniture in the Raw! I will be back!
