Best cleaners in Austin. They do an amazing job for a fair price. Excellent customer service. I spent years looking for a great dry cleaner. I have been using Reid’s for four years now and I am 100% happy!

We use Reid’s a couple of times a month for dress shirts and slacks. The customer service is excellent and the price seems fair given the turnaround time and quality of work. We settled on them after trying several dry cleaners in the area.
The one time I had a small problem with how an item was cleaned (pants were ironed strangely and had some sort of dust on them), they cleaned the item again at no charge.
I would recommend Reid’s for general dry cleaning, but I have not used them to clean anything fancy or highly valuable so I can’t speak to their work on those kinds of items.

Every time I come in they are fast and friendly. They do steaming while you wait! I love this location. They also have weekend hours!

I am complaining about the bee caves location. 2814 Bee Caves. I attempted to call at 6:45pm, I knew they closed at 7pm, no answer. I arrived at 6:55pm and the place was closed. I have dry cleaning there that I needed for a wedding in LA for this weekend. Which I leave before they open tomorrow. I have a choice when I choose dry cleaners, and they have an excellent employee there that opens the store (drives a red truck) but outside of her, she is the only thing positive about this location. They have now effectively lost my business, because I cannot relate to a business that doesn’t have integrity with the hours posted on their door.

We had smoke damage throughout our feeling and the clothes were taken here to be cleaned. I made sure to let them know that I was allergic to most detergents and starch except for one particular brand. The first set of clothing that was done was my nice work outfits that I needed for the week, all I had were the smelly clothes I was wearing. Got them back and of course everything that could be starched was and all of the clothing had shrunk 2 – 3 sizes and I broke out in a rash. Most of my clothing is rayon and hand wash/​cool iron only. It appeared that everything has been pressed. They were sent back to be rewashed and they claimed they had contacted the manufacturer of each article of clothing to make sure the measurements were correct. Got them back and only 3 pieces were like they were when they took them. The rest were still small but I want allergic this time. I have yet to find out what they are planning to do about replacing my expensive business clothing and giving me the funding to purchase placeholders in the mean time so that I have something to wear.

I have been using Reid’s Cleaners on a weekly basis since 1990 and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They are the best cleaners in town with the friendliest employees. I highly recommend them!

If I could give them a 0 I would. Their customer service was ok. The quality of the work for the price I paid was not. I brought in a few items that needed to be cleaned and pressed. When I received them, I should have inspected them but the owner put them in my vehicle so I didn’t have a chance to. I regret not checking. It looks as though they only pressed them and didn’t clean them. I noticed they put the dirtier garments in the middle of the stack so that I wouldn’t notice it. My total came out to about $ 250. I’m am so disappointed and upset. I was promised great results and got less than mediocre. $ 250 for a service is a lot of money for something that wasn’t done correctly. I feel like I was lied to. Do not trust them with your business. You’re better off doing it yourself.

They pressed my pants while I waited. Always make me feel at home. Excellent service.

This place is rip-​off city! For a pair of slacks, a dress, and six shirts (only one had any silk on it) my total came to over $ 70.00!!! I could not believe the price gauging here. I did regular service too, not rushed. They also charge extra for whites, which I’ve never experienced anywhere else unless they were trying to whiten the garment. Their prices are not listed either. They are over priced and not worth it. On to search for the next dry cleaner.

Since my last review I went to pick up my dress and it’s missing a significant amount of beading. I know these items are dry clean at your own risk but it does not appear they take any extra care with delicate items. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Horrible horrible experience!!! Never get alterations done here! I dropped off my dress to get hemmed up and I just went to go pick it up. It is the most awful job I have ever seen! My birthday party is tomorrow and my dress is ruined! I cannot believe this happened. If they knew they could not do the job why even attempt it?! Never ever come here!

Just picked up my wedding dress after having it cleaned and overall I am completely irate with this establishment. When I dropped off my dress they told me wedding dress cleaning starts at $ 99 and I asked the lady (who turned out to be the manager) roughly what she thought it would take to clean the dress. My dress is very lightweight, is free of any beadwork and was very minimally soiled in one place on the train. She assured me she thought it would meet the minimum price requirement of $ 99. She asked me if I needed it back immediately or if they could take a «few weeks» to clean it. I told her I was not in a huge hurry and she said she would call me when it was done. She also upsold me the extra $ 45 to have it preserved and boxed which I went for because I’m selling it.
I called today (almost 6 weeks later) to see if it was done and the very nice gentleman on the phone informed me that it was ready for pick up. I asked when it had been finished and he said it was done a week and a half ago. I never received a call about it and told him. He was very apologetic.
When i arrived to pick it up, they informed me that my total was $ 198.10. I asked to speak to the manager (lo and behold, same lady as when I dropped it off) and I asked her about the price discrepancy between what she assured me it would cost and what I was paying. (Originally quoted $ 99 + $ 45 dress boxing charge.) Seems my simple dress was not as simple to clean as she thought. She was dismissive of my questions in a sugary-​condescending way and offered me discount coupons as I left. I did not take them as I will not be back and I will not be sending anyone their way.
(As a side note, the dress boxing and preservation set-​up was totally unneccesary. Don’t bother paying for this service. The dress comes in a gold and white box and is stuffed so that it looks competely morbid and gaudy — like a wedding dress funeral… I will be removing the dress from this set-​up before I ship it. I cannot imagine receiving a dress in this presentation. It looks incredibly depressing.)

We had a wedding to attend and had just flown in from being out of town and needed a suit and a few shirts pressed ASAP. I called a variety of dry cleaning places who couldn’t even wrap their heads around a super quick turnaround. Reid’s is close to our house and I have been before but didn’t think to call there first. The lady on the phone was so nice and said they could press them while we wait. I was shocked and so appreciative of the quick turnaround.

I had a designer dress that was basically ruined by a dry cleaner in Cedar Park. My daughter suggested that I drive to Austin and take it to Reid’s Cleaners on Lamar and see if they could revive it. Michael Reid was skeptical, but I must report he worked a near miracle. I can wear this dress again! Thank you!

Reid’s on 290 is the worst. Buttons missing from dress shirts, collars smashed so they look ridiculous without a tie (and I never wear ties). Most recently they «misplaced» one of my shirts — could I please come back? Did so, but on next visit no new news, could I please come back? Did so, and learned that my shirt was somehow ripped/​ruined. Could I come back to receive $$ to compensate? Did so, but no check — could I come back? NO. Management was supposed to call me, never did.
Cleaners are a dime a dozen — will NEVER go back to this one. «Dedicated to quality and service»? I think not, unless Reid’s means POOR quality and AWFUL service — that I’d agree with.

Worst ever! I went there to get the hemming of my dress and it was done with zero quality, although they gave me the dress with stains and the manager lady told me the dress was already that way she offered to give a discount of 1% are kidding me! She said they would fix it ha ha there is no way I’ll leave my dress again on their hands. I would NEVER recommend this place and NEVER come back again. MANAGER doesn’t know her job.

Shame on you Reid’s. On two different occasions I requested that they not pin my clothing to the hanger. When you have delicate fabrics and you pin a hole through it you are left with a lovely hole. The staff at Reid’s never complied so I have pinholes in several of my very expensive blouses.
What is worse is that I noticed that they repeatedly cut the liners out of both a dress and a skirt. I very delicately asked if they could please not cut out the liner and they accused me of cutting out the liner. I am certain I don’t cut the slip out of my own clothing. The lady I spoke with was both rude and abrasive. I asked if they could please sew the liner back and she said no because they didn’t cut it out. Unbelievable.
What pathetic customer service. SPEND YOUR $$$ ELSEWHERE.

I couldn’t actually get my items cleaned here, but they were SO NICE and helpful, I was the most satisfied non-​customer you could ask for.
I called in on Friday to see if they could clean our cushion covers (which have zip pouches on the top full of feathers and go between the cushion and the leather upholstery). She wasn’t sure by just the description of what they were, but said to come in if I could and they’d take a look. I got there Saturday morning and she had a few people give it a look, but they didn’t feel confident doing it and didn’t want to ruin my item or have things go awry.
She helped me walk to my car with the large covers and gave me some great advice on how/​where to possibly get them cleaned.
I’ll be taking the rest of my cleaning needs to Reid’s. Thanks for the amazing customer service!

Fabulously clean clothing. The weird Austin-​y mold that set in on the suit jacket I wear once or twice a year: gone, without a trace. The sweaty grey collar on my favorite white faith connection button-​up: very nearly white. (These guys are good, but that shirt is a miracle project.) They lost a v-​neck, temporarily — not for lack of desire to find it; they are extremely nice and respectful and remember half the names of the customers that came in while I was there, but couldn’t summon up the shirt when I picked up the other pieces. However, a week later I called and they had it and I just picked it up on my next bike trip. And they didn’t charge me for it, which is precisely as it should be. And it was fantastically white.
Will take my clothes there again.

I’m going to update my review because there’s been some improvements since my last review. For one thing — — I hadn’t been here in 3 weeks and I come back and they all remember my name when I walk in — — WTF?
I don’t know how they do it, but everytime you walk into this Reid’s the first person who sees you always greets you by your first name, and they always get it right. How the hell do you remember my name (I asked), they just laughed.
But — that’s not why we go there — the attention is nice but how is the dry cleaning? It’s really good — never a problem, always do a great job. Why only 4 stars? I pay close to $ 13 to dry clean 2 pairs of slacks — — that’s kinda pricey if you ask me. I have found places that do it half the price, and I sometimes go there, but Reid’s offers same day service (in by 10am and pick up by 3pm). You do get a $ 5 off coupon — — but only after every $ 70 you spend. If I can get that 5 bucks more frequently, I think this would be a 5 star place.
Regardless, this location is my new go-​to place, and it’s all good in the Reid’s Hood.
