50⁄50 split between sweet and savory, with a range within those categories too. Blueberry donut is just the level of sweetness I was looking for. My last donut was from Voodoo which, to my surprise, had me realize I doo’ have an upper limit with sugar. Friendly staff. Fair prices. Family oriented. Attracts regulars and drop ins.

Easy 5-star! I had been sticking to the savory for too long. We finally tried the sweet(freshly glazed donuts) and they rocked! Also, my personal favorite: chocolate with sprinkles(because I’m a child), is amazing. We usually get breakfast here once a week. An added bonus? The family that owns this shop is fantastically friendly.

I’ve only had the glazed donuts, but they are fluffy and delicious in a way that has made every other glazed donut since a disappointment. Even better, the donuts are still good a couple days from being fresh, which is unique among donuts I’ve had(used to work at a bagel shop that sold Krispy Kreme, these donuts are miles better). But, I can’t come here often because I can eat the donuts about half a dozen at a time. I’m fat enough as is!

Pretty, pretty good. I can’t give it five stars(yet), because I didn’t try a kolache. I love this neighborhood joint and though my heart is always loyal to Shipley’s, there’s not one over here. Cash only if your order is under $ 5!

Great hidden gem! Delicious kolaches and donuts for sure! Everything is baked fresh daily. I would like if they also offered sweet kolaches as well.

I live right across the street from this place and put off going for a long time. But I finally went one weekday morning(~10am) and understood why it had so many 5 star reviews. The owners and their kids are super friendly and always make a point of wishing everyone a good day as they leave. The donuts aren’t artisan, or anything you’d find on a Best Donuts In America list, but they’re great for what they are. There’s a $ 5 debit minimum but that’s not really unheard of for small-owned food service. Would recommend mostly for the staff and friendliness of the place.

I just came back from this place. Its probably one of the better local donuts in Austin. I had the jambo kolache for about $ 2.25, and a dozen donut holes for $ 1.35. It was cheap, and tasted great. Donut holes were so soft, you would think it was raw, but its made just right. The Jambo sausage, cheese, jalapeño kolache had a soft breading as well. I really wish it was closer to campus because it’s so good. The service and people that run it are really kind, like what most reviews have said. The place look more sanitary than most places I’ve been to. They offer a variety of breakfast options like tacos, croissants, and more. You should check it out!

Best donuts in Austin. Stuff is extremely friendly and always accommodating. I had a cinnamon roll, maple donut, sausage egg and cheese bun and a cup of coffee. Everything was great but what really stuck out to me was the cinnamon roll. Great prices as well. LOVEIT!

The donuts are mediocre and sometimes good. One of the employees tried to rip me off by overpricing the donuts by a $ 1.50 or so. I took out my calculator and showed him the addition was wrong. He corrected amount by ripping me off for $.50 !!! So I complained again to get right change. I do not like dishonest businessmen. People do the addition U r being ripped off. At least some of you. This is a relatively poor neighborhood. Get rich rip off poor people. Fantastic.

What it do Unilocal fam? I’m back on it again a day late and a dollar short. I found S-H when I browsing the hall of Unilocal reviews for a new donut place. I got sick of the usual cookie cutter joints and February of 2013 changed it for me. I kept reading all the great reviews and figured well why not. I pulled up about 5:30 am one morning and noticed the place was already crowded with cars. In fact there were so many people I had to park by the smoke shop that was on the end of the building at that time(it’s since closed down). I go inside and the nice lady(owners Wife) greeted me as if she and I had been acquainted for eons. I quickly ordered up a cinnamon roll, donut and a couple of croissants. When I got home with them my Wife woke up and was surprised by the food. Even more so she was hooked people by the quality and taste. Neither of us have since looked pack when in the mood for a breakfast pastry. We don’t go there weekly but when the mood hits rest assured we are there folks. We did cut back though due to not wanting any unwanted health issues because the donuts are that good. I frequently took donuts, kolaches, and holes to the job for co-workers and each time they would disappear. The kolaches never last long at all and the donuts generally disappear before the days end. They have my endorsement hands down because the place is always clean and the staff Is very respectful. One of my best memories is going there before church one Sunday. When I walked in the owner’s son was playing around inside. Somehow he and I got into a faux Karate match that lasted longer than I intended(was late to church). It was a beautiful experience and I still look for little man to see if I can get a rematch(I lost) now and then. Give them a try folks and I don’t believe you’ll be disappointed by them at all.

Company owners are nice and product is fresh. Decent prices as. Only thing I prefer is a receipt after I pay.

I’m already planning my next visit here tomorrow morning. That’ll make it three times in 1 week that I made the smart decision to get S-H Donuts for breakfast. Seriously, if you are in the area and love donuts or breakfast tacos or kolaches, come here! +Big and fluffy sausage kolaches for just $ 1.19/each +Breakfast sandwiches for ~$ 2.00 that are delicious(no more McDonald’s drive-thru!) +Sweetest family that personally runs this place everyday with a big smile! Donut delay…

I was recently introduced to S-H Donuts by a friend… she recommended it for their kolaches. I have not actually tried their donuts. S-H carries a smaller collection of kolaches then some place like the Kolache Factory. The choices are also fairly limited, but then again, they bake a lot more than just kolaches and in a smaller store front than some competition. There is easy parking and the owners/staff are very friendly and welcoming. You actually feel like they appreciate your business… overall a very local business feel. The kolaches are pretty good, but the dough is a little on the sweet side. Not donut-sweet, but certainly sweeter than I am used to. I am not sure if this is due to the other goods they bake or just their recipe. They also have jumbo sizes which is nice if you want to get just one, but want something a little bigger(slightly smaller than a hotdog). The prices are very, very reasonable. S-H is far cheaper than any chain, which is great! However, due to the lack of variety I am not sure how often I will be visiting. Overall: I highlight recommend S-H, at least as a place to try out! But due to the lack of variety — and a specific dough taste — you’ll have decide on your own if you will become a regular. I don’t regret it, but I think my visits will dwindle a bit.

The apple fritter was possibly the best I’ve ever had. I also had a long john and a kolache which were also both good.
