I waited 30 minutes for an order of chili cheese tator tots. The girl working the speaker was freaking out, talking really fast and yelling because she couldn’t handle the stress. When the tots finally arrived, there was no fork or napkins. I called back for a fork, but freak out girl was having none of it so I ate chili with my hands and cleaned up with a Kleenex I had in the car. This is not that complicated, it’s Sonic. Sad.

This place sucks. Horrible, slow and lazy workers. Hire new people! Avoid this place!

I always get exactly what I order/want. It’s cheap, fast and their milkshakes are delicious. definitely a diverse crowd for great people watching.

Terrible evening service The crew at night seems to be interested in something other then serving fresh hot food. I went for shakes last week with my son. I ordered 2 mini shakes and they repeated my order back to me. When I saw the price I said this isn’t right so I hit the button and inquired. What he said to me then was not what I ordered or what he repeated back to me. Then I noticed them looking out at me and my server put my drinks(which were both mini) down on the counter where I couldn’t see. I was too nervous to drink them at this point since it looked like something hinky was done to them. I feel like they were trying to rip me off and when I called them out on it they decided to make me pay. On another occasion I received a txt for a bogo hot dog deal. When I redeemed they over charged me and when I realized it and went back they served me a hot dog with a pube on it. I don’t think the night crew has any scruples and I won’t return. I’m afraid to complain because of what I might get served when I come back to collect.

I know no one reads reviews for chain restaurants, but just in case, avoid this place like the plague. The servers are nice, but service is painfully slow. Often they’ll get orders incorrect. Being a self-admitted Sonic addict, I’ve been to this location and many others, and this Sonic fails to impress on a regular basis.(Being a self-admitted lazy butt, too, this is the closest Sonic, so I’ve made the mistake of coming back even knowing how terrible the service is.) If you’ve got the time, they’ll always fix you’re order, but keep in mind that this’ll take just as long. As a fun anecdote, once I got a caramel shake here, and it was salty. Salty ice cream is, needless to say, about as appetizing as dog poop. Go to the Sonic on Burnet. Don’t let my salty ice cream nightmare have been for nothing. Take my advice and save yourself.

I’ve never had a single complaint. The workers are always nice and cheery, and my order is right every time.

My experience at this sonic can be summed up by the dialogue below… My roommate: I WANT A HOTDOG Sonic Worker: …Uhhh…what? Me: We’ll take two Chicago dogs, French fries, mozz sticks and a chocolate milkshake. …5 minutes later… Sonic worker comes out with my roommate’s milkshake. Sonic Worker: ma’am, I have terrible news… we charged you regular price for the milkshakes when they should be half off after 8pm… Me:…can I… get another milkshake? Silence. SW: Absolutely!

As far as Sonics go, this isn’t bad, it’s not great, it is what it is. No surprises here, but it is a good way to check out a diverse group of patrons — families, hipsters, East Side residents, young teens on dates, manual laborers and working class folks, etc — as you eat your burger and sip on your Route 44 unsweet ice tea. A gripe — some of the pay-by-card machines carside don’t work. That being said, the carhops don’t mind running inside with your card and swiping the card there. And, Sonic radio. Whatcha gonna do, wear earplugs? I just keep my window rolled up and my xm radio or podcasts going so I don’t have to listen to the music being piped in over the speakers. Easy fix. The plus side are the carhops, who are always friendly, and the cookstaff, who generally provide me with piping hot meals that are pretty close to my order that I don’t bother pissing and moaning if they get it slightly wrong. One thing that is pretty consistant here, in a bad way — you have to make a point to ask for ketchup, salt and pepper. More often than not, none are in my bag when my order comes, and I claim a small victory when a couple napkins are in fact in the bag. Ketchup is of great importance, because these days it seems something is slightly off with the tater tots(I don’t get Sonic fries anymore — not sure what’s happened but they’ve been generally blah Sonic-wide), which isn’t a knock against this Sonic as it is against Sonic in general. Copious amounts of ketchup masks the taste somewhat. But I don’t come for the tater tots, I come here for the burgers which are good for fast food(not Whataburger good, but compared to Burger King or McDonald’s, they’re certainly worth stopping the car for), and I come here for the crushed ice in my Route 44 ice tea. If I’m not up for eating a burger here, I’ll stop here just for a Route 44 ice tea. The ice IS what separates Sonic from the rest of the pack, and what keeps me coming back.

I basically only go here for sodas during«happy hour»(2pm-4pm). I get what I expect in a reasonable amount of time. Nothing special as far as a fast food restaurant, but no worse than the average.

I go to Sonic on a daily basis for HAPPYHOUR and this is the only Sonic I know that takes FOREVER to bring DRINKS out!!! The only reason I go to this one is because it is closest to my work but I would not recommend anyone else to go there!!!
