Stopped by on the way home from Austin Animal Center(gotta foster those kittens!) and picked up some dinner for myself and a couple of hungry young uns. We LOVE their wings and their fried gizzards! Still delicious! My favorite fried chicken in town!

Small mom and pop take out place… just a few seats in the tiny dining area… that’s been serving the community for a bunch of years. A local favorite… and rightly so. Daily specials. Catfish, shrimp, etc, served with a heaping helping of good service and friendliness. Just be warned, if you get there during the lunch rush the line usually goes out the door.

I chose this place because of the high Unilocal reviews, but I guess I went on an off day. I ordered the $ 8.99 fish, shrimp and wing meal. The portion was huge, but the food was just okay. The fries were the only thing that I enjoyed because they were hot. I tried to eat my food because I paid almost $ 10 for it, but I threw it away rather than stuff myself with mediocrity. I don’t doubt that they’ve earned the high reviews, but I certainly don’t have anything to rave about.

Simple request to trade out side of fries for more diabetic friendly stuffed peppers. Was denied. The price for the peppers as a side is less than the fries. Disappointing. They are right down the street from where I work and had ordered ala carte many times before.

Simply the very best old fashioned country style fried wings and catfish in the Austin area served in a no-frills, hipster-free inviornment! The wings are full cut and fried with a delicious fried coating. Freshest fried catfish, oysters and shrimp around served with thick cut French fries. All great with Terry’s hot sauce. We’ve eaten here for years and now others have discovered this secret through Unilocal so the it’s a bit more crowded but well worth the wait! Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

the wings are cooked fresh. they are fried to my liking nice and crispy. the coating is well season. the old fashion roll goes well with it. i pefer a roll with my chicken vs a buiscuit. the fries were barely warm so i have to ding a few stars. i will return. they have a very varied menu. ton of customers. so they must be doing more food dishes right. i want to try their shrimp fish and egg rolls. these were ordered a lot while i was waiting.

These guys rock! What you don’t know is that they have been doing this for… over 40years. Too stubborn to go nation wide. They have the makings of a big national business. Bring Terry’s to Frisco and meet the Dallas Cowboys! Mr. Slussler do it! You only live once… come on…

This is one of my favorite places to eat in all of Austin. The man behind the counter who I can only assume is named terry is always a pleasure to talk to. I suggest anybody who likes a good meal without prevention to drop through.

4 out of 5 for fast food! Fantastic service and good food. We had the two PC lunch fish special and chose cod. Fish was tasty.

My husband and I have seen this place for years but were a bit apprehensive about going as the location is in a «less than desirable» area of town and the building itself looks a little run down. After reading a few reviews, we decided to go for it. We tried the family fish meal. You get an option of catfish or cod. We went with the catfish and it was delicious! Full meal included fries, hushpuppies, rolls and fish. It was all mixed in together in one box. Fries were ok… a little soggy, but my husband loved them. I got a small order of fries okra… it was enough for several people. It was also well seasoned. There’s some space to sit and eat in, but this place is mostly for pick-up orders. I would definitely recommend.

I had always overlooked Terry’s Seafood and Chicken given its spotty location and the small size of the establishment. But after a few glowing recommendations from friends, I decided it was worth a shot. I tried a 5 piece friend chicken meal and substituted fried okra for fries. The chicken wings were very crispy and the meat was tender, easily coming off the bone. The fried okra was also quite good with just the right amount of crisp. The package was also packed full of fried okra, I literally ate 100 pieces of fried okra. Definitely better than the average fried chicken fast food restaurant, but also a little pricier. Also, there wasn’t a huge selection of sides. I plan on coming back to try more sometime. Note: restaurant is closed on Sundays and the hours are shorter than you would expect Tip: cut your nails before eating fried chicken, unless you enjoy fried chicken stuck in your fingernails

The guy at the counter was great. Very friendly. The portions were crazy big!!! You can share for sure. Food was ok but what do you expect for all fried food. Good price and good amount of food.

My friend and I stopped by here for a quick grab and go dinner before a venue. The staff is pretty nice. I ordered the chicken wings plate. I would give it a 6 out of 10. It looks like the chicken wings came out of the box.

The guy at the counter is seriously the nicest host I’ve ever met. Good seafood but I mainly come for the wings. Try ‘em.

I loved it. I’ve been driving past this place for months now and I finally ate there today. I got the seafood platter, and for $ 11.99 I got a feast of delicious and unfinishable proportions. Everything in the platter was perfect except for the cole slaw, the breading on the shrimp was unlike any I’ve had anywhere else. I tried a chicken wing as well and it was spicy and not too greasy. The people behind the counter were nice and explained were they get their seafood,(Which is one of the freshest markets around Austin) it was fast and the food spoke for itself. The place is tiny but I sat down and enjoyed my feast while watching a fairly large HD screen. I know it’s a seafood place and that’s probably why it closes so early but I wish they were open a little later.

I was running late to a potluck when I came to Terry’s Seafood for some of their wings. My neighbor had told me that they were really good and I wanted to verify. We pull up at 8:02pm…2 minutes after they closed. Pulling around back we come across the staff hanging out back chatting. They apologize profusely for our unfortunate timing. «We just closed and can’t use the register now». We turn the car around and hear«Do you guys just want to try some chicken?» uh…yes… After learning that we were on our way to a party they loaded us up with about 30 wings and some slaw. The wings were hot, fresh and super yummy. The batter was very crispy. Best chicken I’ve had in ages! The slaw was not too sour/vinegar flavored and not too sweet/creamy. I thought it was perfect. The rolls are nothing special but they taste fine and are fluffy-fresh. What a find! I’m happy to go back and pay. The prices are certainly reasonable enough. 3 delicious wings and a roll for $ 3.59… love it!

See it all the time on my drive to and from work. I have been looking for a more local chicken spot, this may be it. I am not much on seafood or fish at all. SO chicken is all i will post about. first of all, to the one person i saw say something about mushy fries. If ya got it to go, then thats why, duh. Ever go to any restaurant that puts the food in a Styrofoam container? There is condensation that does that, NOTFROMTHECOOKINGPROCESS. Now down to business. Todays special was a 5 piece chicken wing, fries, and roll. Roll wasnt nothing special. The fries werent to bad. Chicken, they were good sizes pieces, all in all i am full and that was 2 hours ago. Nothing special about it at all, but the batter. SO, good stuff for fried chicken thats not a chain. I will be going back for their regular chicken.
