I have to agree with most of the reviews here. The food is pretty good(I mean it’s fried chicken on a tortilla with coleslaw and sauce, what’s not to like?) but the customer service could be better. The people who work here act like they have the hardest/worst job in the world. You work in food truck making $ 7 fast food meals… If you don’t like your job, work somewhere else. Don’t make an entire restaurant chain look bad because you hate your job. Management, please hire new people. It’s probably not hard to replace some hipster that fries chicken for a living… The 4 star rating is for the food, can’t knock it. It’s good stuff!

After eyeing up someone else’s lunch — the recommended the chicken avocado cone. Fried chicken, friend slice of creamy avocado, slaw, and a creamy spicy sauce. Perfection. I could’ve eaten more than one– but I wanted to try another truck as well.

The fried avocados win. Hands down. The portion was smaller than I expected, though. Even if that might make me a fatass. The chicken wasn’t half bad either, but the avocado stole the show.

Came here while waiting for the trail of lights to open at 7. We had the chicken and avocado cone and it was really good. The coating is really crunchy and unique. The fries were good, but they needed more salt, maybe the chili seasoning made it taste that way. The house made ketchup was unique. Overall a very good experience, and a nice way to kick off our evening.

I was surprised the reviews of this place were this low. I went to the trailer park looking for another place but they weren’t there for lunch. I had no idea what a cone was in regards to this place but the prices were reasonable, so I gave it a shot. I ordered the chicken cone, fries and a soda. I Loved the cone. The cone idea is genius but simple. I didn’t get it at first but once I started eating I realized how easy it made eating that thing without making a huge mess. Loved the flavor and the crunchy coating on the fish. I wasn’t a huge fan of the fries. The ketchup was good but I think they needed salt. The guy was really nice that took my order and it came out super fast.

I would say 3 stars is low, why does this place only have 3 stars? Apparently, reviewers did not have the FRIEDAVACADOCONE!!! What’s not to love. Sure, the tortilla was like filler, I didn’t eat any of it– but that’s the good thing about how it’s served. You don’t have to! I liked this place. It put a tip in the basket, for sure!

The customer service is GREAT but I sadly didn’t like the ‘hot chicken cone’ that I ordered. The food came out super quick so maybe it was rushed? I am not sure. I might try it again some day but maybe not.

What happened to customer service here? The guys are lounging around, no one is happy to come up and ask me for my order. There is no line, you should be happy to have a customer, right? The fried avocado was OK, but with customer service like that I’ll go elsewhere. Good food is not an excuse to get away with poor customer service, ever.

This place is awesome! The guy taking orders was super friendly. I got the chicken cone And it was so delicious. The hot crunchy chicken, cold crunchy slaw, cold and spicy sauce all came together for an amazingly delicious dish. Bravo!

The food here is AWESOME. So good. I’ve been a fan for a long time. I recommend the chicken and avocado and their version of fried pickles. BUT(plot twist) if you ever walk up to this trailer and there is an older woman working, just turn around. Save yourself the aggravation. I have never had a pleasant experience with her. Always rude and short with customers. Everyone else is great, including the owner. Service is always a big factor to me when it comes to local business’ so I am sure to always include it into my ratings. But again, back to the food, delicious!!!

So it all started with my husband asking for a side of avocado to which some hipster with poor hygiene made snarky comments and said they only had fried avocado.(a side of avocado appears on their menu) my husband said never mind because he wanted it for our infant son to snack on. Rude but not unforgivable and we still tipped. I always pack baby food anyways. I need some napkins and a sauce container and as I walked back up they were openly talking crap about my family. Slamming us for thinking such an establishment would sell baby food. One tool chuckled and said you should have told those idiots this is adult food only. What the actual fuck. This used to be my favorite food trailer but I have no interest in ever returning. Its surrounded by way better options with family friendly service.

So I tried to go to the location on Rio Grande, but the truck wasn’t there. Not sure if they moved it or if they just took the day off, but I had to have me some Mighty Cone, so I went to the location on Barton Springs. This truck is the bomb! I first ate here in 2011 when it was over on South Congress, and when I planned on coming back to Austin this year, it was on my list of places to eat again! I got the chicken and avocado cone and the mozzarella sticks. I think they’re called the Chihuahua. The breading that they use is fantastic! So crunchy. The fried avocado adds a wonderful creamy texture. I had never had a fried avocado before, but it’s a brilliant idea! I read a lot of negative reviews of this place, especially of the Rio Grande location, and I just don’t get it. The portions here are perfect. I don’t feel like I paid too much for the amount I got, and the taco in the cone is genius! I think people get too hung up on the cone part itself thinking it’s supposed to be all about the cone. No! It’s all about what’s inside it! The cone is just a nifty holder that catches all the drippings from the slaw. I wish I’d had time to go here twice this week, and I can’t wait to come again the next time I’m in Austin. I highly recommend it!

This place sucks. We went to this truck twice in a thirty minute span and tipped both times. The food was whatever/fine, but the service sucks. The dude who works here, some hipster with a septum piercing, was an absolute A-hole. I bought four freaking cones and politely asked if they had any knives(we had to cut up chicken for a baby). He immediately dismissed me with a rude attitude-ridden«No.» and walked off with like I was unnecessarily trying to make his life complicated. Don’t go here if you expect to be treated with any semblance of courtesy.

I have tried to come here 3 times based on the hours they have posted. Every time they are closed. Change your damn hours or actually be open when you say you will.

The Picnic is a nice food truck area that’s conveniently located across of Zilker Park. My experience with The Mighty Cone was positive. The tortillas were average, as were the fries. However, the ingredients in side the taco were great! The fried avocado, chicken and sauce really complimented each other.
