Extremely impressed with the rustic décor, super friendly and efficient service(thanks Tiffany, she’s the best!). Ordered a gin and tonic which was on point and my friend had his favorite type of Belgian beer. The gouda fries were unbelievable. The cheese was perfectly melted, the scallions were fresh, the bacon was crisped just right and the waffle fries tasted very fresh. I would definitely return here for dinner.

Burgers always on point. Freshly made from the market up the block. Best burger in Long Island.

Place is good for a night out. The bathroom is a mess, you walk in and there is urine all over the place. I walked out to my feet sticking to the floors.

The villagers a pretty cool spot. It’s tiny inside but has a nice size bar area. They have about 25 craft beers on tap and a nice menu of burgers, sandwiches, etc. i had the pretzel bites, which were great, and a burger, which they serve on an english muffin. I liked the english muffin, it was toasted and yummy. However, I ordered my burger medium rare and it was literally brown all the way through, so that was disappointing. If I’m gona splurge in calories for a burger, I’d like it cooked how I asked. I’d definitely give this place another shot.

Food was tasty bummed that they were out of tater tots but the waffle fries were a good addition. Burgers are pretty good and juicy. A bit loud with the music but everyone looked to be having a good time. Huge beer list so they have one for every taste! I would return simple and easy gastropub with good food.

This place is just another reason that Babylon is becoming my new favorite strip. Met an old friend here one night a few months ago to catch up, and instantly took to it. Very small place; however, the layout creates a very comfortable environment. I have since been back a few more times, and the crowd is very relaxed, servers are friendly, and they have one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, hands down!!! The wings are nothing special to be honest so if you are looking for them, I would highly suggest ditching that itch and going for the burger… as if the same person who cooked ours is still cooking back there, you CAN’T be disappointed!!! The other food we had was also good, but the burger is my focal point along with the atmosphere, crowd, and location, which is why this place definitely deserves four stars!

Very cool little spot in Babylon. Surprisingly GREAT bar food. Not your typical wings and fries. The food is creative and tastes amazing for a small bar. Only negative thing I have to say about the place is that their«extensive» craft beer list is rarely in stock. They always seem to tell me they’re out of whatever beer I’ve asked for off the list. Overall though, a good place to hang out with a couple friends for good beers and food.

It was my birthday yesterday an I decided to have the mini party here. It was mine an everyone else’s first time at the Villager. We all came away very happy. The place was really crowded when we got there, slowed down a lil but picked right back up. I love the craft beer selection an the food was really really good. I had the pulled pork quesadillas for my meal. I can’t wait to go back an try some other dishes.

The place is good. The crowd is good. The beer is good. The food is good. The service is great. I thought the music was a bit too loud, but then I am 41!!! The rest of younger crowd seemed totally at ease with it. There was only one thing that did not make sense to me. We asked for Gouda fries as an appetizer and the El Diabolo burger and the spicy BBQ sandwich. The waiter said the burger and the sandwich come with tater tots and asked if we wanted to have the Gouda fries as the side instead. It sounded like a good idea, so we said yes. We were charged $ 5 extra each for the 2 sides. That’s more than what the Gouda fries would have cost us as an appetizer. And we gave up our tots for that. Apart from this, it was a good experience overall.

Pretty great bar food! Waffle fries covered in Gouda, bacon, and scallions. El Diablo burger has jalapeño peppers cooked INTO the burger. The staff doesn’t get offended when you request hot sauce!(Frank’s and Sriracha are avail) Also, they had Stone IPA on tap in addition to over a dozen draft options. Only hang up was that all the burgers were served on English muffins but, after trying it, I see the draw. Hot wings weren’t anything to shake a stick at either… I detected a HINT of garlic in there to add to the traditional Frank’s flavor… AND it’s right by the train station! Pretty sweet place, I’d go there weekly if I lived in the area.

Came here last weekend for a quick dinner. I really liked the inside and the selection of craft beer they had. The food wasn’t the best in my opinion. I had a burger that was medium and I asked for well done. It turned me off from the burger and it really wasn’t that great either. Mostly bland from what I had. I’m not one to personally send food back unless the service is horrible or the food is totally not up to standards. The waitress wasn’t rude but she wasn’t that friendly either. Didn’t really attend to us too often which was frustrating. The bartender seemed nice, we should’ve sat at the bar instead. In terms of eating here for dinner? I’d say skip it. Chill at the bar and have a few drinks and order some bar appz. I would definitely come back to do that.

Went here for my birthday with my boyfriend, I really wanted to do a low key dinner and I wanted some good ass bar food… Stat. We get there sit down right away, I love that we were able to seat ourselves and not have to wait to be seated. I personally loved the dimly lit setting with the candles, it made our dinner feel more personal it was easy to forget the other people around us. The menu is smallish and that had me feeling optimistic because it seemed like they stick to what they do and do it really well. Burgers are clearly their thing and my burger was amazing, I went all out and got the breakfast burger which was topped with bacon eggs and cheese… It beyond filled me up, I will probably split it with someone else in the future. The tater tots were perfectly cooked and even served in the basket they were fried in, no soggy oily tots but crunchy golden ones. Their waffle fries with gouda fondue bacon and scallions was insanely good, gouda is a nice mild cheese and I like that it complimented the taste of the fries as opposed to taking away from it. Anyone who hasn’t had gouda assumes it’s some fancy cheese that must taste super sharp and pungent, it’s smooth and rather bland in a good way. I want to try the Cuban sandwich next time and their fire island burger, which is their most popular burger. They also have a lot of flatbread options that were creative and appetizing. We did not have any beer so I can’t speak to that but they had a lot of options that looked good. I can’t wait to go back to this joint, it’s such a cool laid back atmosphere with top notch food, a wonderful addition to Babylon village.

This place is great! The menu looked fantastic, and we had to try as much as possible for our first visit. We started with the Thai clams and pretzels with cheese. The latter were the same as anywhere else, but the clams were really good. Hotter than anticipated, but not too hot. We then had the Cubano and the Slaw burger. I thought the Cubano would be good without the pork, which seemed dry to me, but was still enjoyable. The burger was fantastic and something I would get again. Lastly we had the gouda fries, which I expected to be different, but what came out was good(I don’t think I’d get it again, though). Overall I’m excited to go again and try different things off of their menu(the grilled cheese looked good but they didn’t have apples left).

One of my favorite spots in Babylon. The crowd is so normal! As a Long Island transplant, I often have trouble finding bars that are not packed with bros and bud lite. The Villager has done exactly the opposite. They have a TON of interesting beers right on tap and they rotate new beers into the list often. They also have some interesting drinks for those who do not like beer. The food is great, music is on point, and all of the bartenders are the friendliest people you will meet. If you are looking for a chill night and something other than watery beer from a keg, check out the Villager. It’s awesome!

Came here the other night for drinks and apps with my bf. We started off with a beer each — A Belgian white«Palm» beer for me and a Stone IPA for him. For apps — we ordered the Gouda fries which were served with bacon bits on top(to die for), and the BBQ boneless wings which we also loved. We came on a weekday around 8pm so it was a perfect place to talk and unwind. The ambience is sweet as it’s all brickwork and chalkboard displays of all their different craft beers. Service was great too! Definitely will be back.

The waitress is very nice. The food awesome but don’t take a salad not so good. However don’t hesitate to take a burger :) They have a very good choice of draft beers :)

I’ve been here so manyyyyyy times! This bar is perfect. The size is practical. It’s not too large where it can be obnoxious to get service, there is a fair amount of seating at the bar and even high top tables and regular tables for parties of 4 – 6. Menu chalkboards. I’m all about it… Craft beers are served in abundance here and def high alcohol content. I like that they write the % of the beer next to it on the board… They probably will have some nice fall and winter beers . Always a decent crowd in here… Good beer… Fair prices… Good menu… Get here.

Honestly, I still don’t get why everyone is raving about this place and giving it 5 stars. I was just here again last week, and decided to lower my review. Again, out of the 40 beers they have on tap, I found 4 that I would even consider ordering. Yet people still eat this selection up. Just because you’ve never heard of it, doesn’t mean its good. I was also here to grab a bite. It took so long to get seated, and then so long to get service. Why? Because ONE waitress was taking care of everything, with ONE bartender. I get, its a weeknight, but its Babylon, it’s going to get busy, make sure you’ve got enough staff. I saw the owners in the table at the back as always, drinking and hanging out, but never lending a hand. The first time I ate here, I loved it. They didn’t have an official menu, just a selection of foods on the chalkboard, which was great. Shows you whatever they have is fresh and you always get new choices. This time, they had a real menu. I wanted something I could just pick at, but they didn’t have much as far as that goes, mostly, burgers and sandwiches. So I ordered the chorizo and shrimp flatbread. Waitress comes back — no chorizo. She says they’ll put Italian sausage on it, really not the same, but whatever, I’m ready to get out of this place anyway. I had the flatbread before, and it was great. This one was literally bread, cheese, shrimp, and sausage. No seasoning at all. It was okay. My boyfriend was craving wings, the whole reason we even came here, and guess what? This bar only has boneless wings. Weird. But luckily the«special» of the day was wings on the bone. So he got an order of those. They were good, but the waitress forgot to tell us that they charge alot more for on the bone than off. We got 4 beers, a flatbread, and wings, and spent over $ 60. Seems steep to me.

Visit Date: February 24, 2015 Let me tell you a story of how hubby and I ate a meal at the Villager in Babylon. We needed to make a stop after dinner, so we decided to go out because Tuesday is one of our nights to eat out or order in. I always want to try new places, hubby likes sticking to a few usual places but last night I asked him if he wanted to try the Villager. I figured he would like the craft beer and I wanted to try the food. When we walked in the place was relatively empty there were a few people drinking and eating but not that many. The bar reminds me of a hip Manhattan or Brooklyn bar. The tables are made of wood, the walls are brick, there’s dim lighting and candle lighting and the craft beer choices are listed in chalk along the chalkboard walls. I had the portobello stack with a substitution of gouda fries. I forgot to tell the waitress to skip the bacon on the gouda fries, luckily it was sprinkled on top so I was able to pick it off. It was my mistake so I didn’t want to chase the waitress for new fries. The fries were incredible, crispy waffle fries topped with melted gouda cheese. Most of my cheese fell to the bottom of the plate but porky pig here didn’t let that cheese remain on the bottom of the plate I scooped it up with my fries. The sandwich was okay, it had a tangy flavor which I didn’t dig too much. Hubby just got one beer but he liked it. We were impressed and during the summer if I don’t get pregnant right away when we try to have a kid we’ll be back here for a drink or two. I couldn’t drink because I was driving and I don’t want a DUI.

This is a nice pub in Babylon, and in my opinion — just what the village needed. If you’ve been to Babylon, you know there is no shortage of bars. But The Villager is different. Think lots of craft beers on tap. Large chalkboard menus with fare that is not your standard fried bar food, but creative-sounding sandwiches and interesting offerings. The beers and drinks are reasonably priced around $ 6 – 7 each and the bartender was quite friendly and quickly served my friends and I our beverages. Definitely looking forward to coming back to The Villager over the December holiday break to enjoy a pint or two and to sample one of their yummy sounding menu items. This could easily become a 5-star for me. Cheers!
