Wow! We had a mini getaway in Bainbridge Island and ended up going their twice since it was across from the hotel. You must try the pull port sliders they have, best we ever had! And, they were only $ 1.50! The next morning during the game we had a scramble with peppers and toast — we wanted to order more of the toast, it was amazing. Food was great but like some of the reviews the staff is a bit too comfortable.

I ordered the Mushroom and Swiss Burger, with soup. The server seemed very busy, and hurried, but wasn’t necessarily rude. Though I don’t know where she seemed busy, there didn’t appear to be that many customers. It took her awhile to visit me to take my order. Food came out a bit longer than expected and it showed. The meal was warm, but not hot, so the cooking staff did their jobs quickly. I guess the server didn’t like me. Anyways, the clam chowder soup was fresh and delicious, but would have been better if it was hot. The burger though(again the whole food wasn’t hot thing), seemed to be missing something. The bun was way bigger than the meat and it wasn’t toasted, which would have improved the burger, in my opinion. And it wasn’t messy. All shroom and Swiss burgers are large and messy, they just are, yet this wasn’t anything. It tasted ok, just not complete. In the end, I felt sort of cheated by the small burger and tiny bowl of chowder. I would have given them 4 stars if it wasn’t for the food temp and small burger(which is my biggest complaint) I did not drink any beer, yet the number of screens to watch sports is impressive.

Just what Bainbridge needs. Fabulous food, great vibe, awesome service. We’ve been here a few times and I’ve been impressed with everything– mainly their portobello trencher… mmm! Keep up the good work!

So we came here after the Seahawks game to avoid the crowd thinking service would be normal. We waited 10 minutes before we even saw an employee and we were sat a few minutes later. The young lady who helped us was nice but that was the only positive. My beer glass smelled like it was washed with a wet dog. I ordered the On-Deck which is the only chicken sandwich on the menu and it was burnt and made wrong. I expect this at rush hour but not went the place is half full. Why can’t we get a decent family friendly restaurant on Bainbridge– other than Westside Pizza…

Great sports pub but even better food! Dropped in while visiting the island and were pleasantly surprised by this place. Good atmosphere, excellent service and sports!!! Perfect!

I would give more stars if the daytime staff, particularly the woman working the bar would have got off her phone and done her job. 1.5 hours to get a late lunch… no one in the place. Had to get her attention(from her phone) to order. Had to get her attention(from her phone) to get our check and she never came back so we had to take bill to her, oh but wait she had her back turned to all of her customers texting on her phone!!! This place will not survive with this person running the show during a busy football season. Witnessed other folks waiting over 15 mins to noticed to get seated in restaurant. Watched another couple finally interrupt our texting bartender to order drinks… grrrr Ok all written above was a visit 3 months ago. We went back last night and guess what, there has been no change. Food comes out wrong and when it finally comes back out I get all the original sides from first dish… cold fries. They of course get the beer order wrong and all of the things in my original review are still going on. Why is the wait staff huddle in the corner of the bar area and back in kitchen area not making I contact with customers… they are on their phones still. I guess the owners(also own NOLA in downtown Winslow) just don’t care. I want to help local business but I will not be back to this one.

Utterly crap-O. Nachos cold, Velveeta cheese with a sprinkling of real Tilamook cheddar. Chips were soggy. The only item on the menu is worthwhile is a burger. Come’on Man! Full of drunks, definitely a DUI trap. I agree with earlier review that any 4⁄5 star review is fake(owner or owner’s relatives) or personal friends.

Tried a few appetizers over a take out order on a somewhat busy monday night, didnt get to experience service so ill reserve judgment there as the host/2go specialists were prompt and friendly. The potatoe skins were all skin and no filings, wedge cut doesnt do well here in my opion. Also tried the nachos which the pork was good but the chips stale :/I hate nit picking but for a sports bar trying to be homestyle you definitely have some work to still do. Will tey again just not the appetizers.

We had the Super Bowl Salad, which was a great combo of Quinoa, Medjool dates, roasted sweet potato, toasted walnuts, sweet onion, and greens… Ok that was a total do over! Man, yum! We also shared a Bacon Cheeseburger with Bacon mayo, very tasty! All this went solidly with my Hale’s Troll Porter. Our waiter, David, was great. I will be back.

This place always seems to be busy every time we drive by. So we thought we’d try it today for a late lunch. We were happy to see Celene who used to work at Streamliner Diner. We had a Trencher(open face steak and portobello sandwich) and the chili. I LOVE chili and theirs is the best I have had in a long time… really flavorful with chunks of steak. The Trencher was good but a little hard to eat because of the height of the sandwich and the narrow wooden plate that it’s served on. The décor is new and very tastefully«pubby». It IS a sports bar so be prepared for lots of TVs and rock music played kinda loud. All in all we liked it and will go again.

Ok. I admit it. I may have been a bit harsh and hasty with my prior review. Went back tonight to give P&P another shot. Ate in the bar which meant we were served by Emily, the bartender. Had a great pub meal. Cold Smithwicks for me and a hard cider for the wife. Saw the expanded and updated and refreshed menu that included a black bean burger for Jen so she ordered one and I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. The buns were fresh and soft and the fries hot and salty. My burger was perfect and the black bean burger made Jen very happy. All with extremely attentive and helpful service from Emily. This place has come into its own and we will now include it in our weekly«ok, where should we eat?» debate on the Island. Thanks for giving all of us a great pub alter alternative on the Rock.

Would gladly return if they would have at least one quality dark beer, porter or stout. Food was fine but I was disappointed in beer selection.

I wrote the above review and got a nice message back from the owners(which I accidentally deleted) about turning the sound up on the playoff games and regarding the portion sizes. Seems they had something like 5000 people that first few weeks so… yeah, they’re finding their stride. I was told that the price and glass size of the Smithwicks I ordered was wrong, they don’t charge $ 5.25 for a tiny glass, it’s supposed to be $ 4.25 for 10oz and $ 6.25 for a pint. I don’t know where the $ 5.25 on my receipt came from. Sounds like the owners like sports and listen to customers so that’s a great start. I’ll be back again to drink the Smithwick’s and cheer on my team, not that there are any real sports on until Sept(sorry baseball fans) but in the meantime… here’s hoping for the best.

New sports bar on Bainbridge. Happy hour is everyday and the $ 5 burger is awesome. $ 4 well drinks and lots of sports on the tv’s. It’s new and working out its bugs. I have eaten here 10+ times and have not had anything overlooked. Give this place a try. Worth the walk if your on foot from seattle too. They also have smithwicks on tap

I’ve been here 10 – 15 times and I can’t believe these people that are complaining went to the same restaurant, or they are plants from competitors giving negative reviews, because I have never experienced what they are talking about. I love the burgers, the beer, the ambiance and the service. They’re always great.

Everything about this place is excellent except for the core competency of any restaurant, the food & drink. This is a cruel twist for a community so starved for this kind of place. I’d really like to make this a regular stop but it’s difficult to justify with food this bland, unimaginative and poorly executed. The burgers are probably the best item on the menu but are grossly overcooked,(medium is not uniformly grey through the center), ill-seasoned and accompanied by an unappetizing array of vegetables. Typically, a single slab of lettuce, some onion and a few small medallions of small tomato slices. I like the size of the fries, not too thin, not too thick, but there’s something off about flavor that I can’t put my finger on. Avoid the trenchers with extreme prejudice. Also the fish and chips are not so tasty. My kids seem to like the chicken tenders and I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that these might be the best item on the menu. On the beer side, they’ve got a selection of hyper-local beers but they typically have one, sometimes two IPAs. I’m not a restauranteur but I’m pretty sure that IPAs are by far the most popular craft beers. Dads order IPAs. There are a ton of great IPAs in the PNW. But P&P doesn’t stock good IPAs. The Valholl Brew Bitch IPA is the best IPA I’ve seen there and that’s only of average quality. I’m really hoping that the owners take the negative reviews as an opportunity to change and improve rather than to dig in and stay on course. There are clearly a lot of people that are willing to overlook the food because of the excellent experience, being able to watch a game with the family on the Isla. But eventually the patrons will start to thin as the dread over the cuisine outweighs the positives.

I was really excited to see the restaurant close that was here prior to The Plate and Pint, and even more excited at the idea of an acceptable lunch restaurant on Bainbridge that could deliver a decent lunch for about $ 10(there are only a couple that can!). Well, unfortunately, this place missed the mark horribly. The menu stated that all burgers were cooked medium unless otherwise requested. I think of medium as about ½ pink and ½ brown in the center. All burgers delivered to our table were well beyond well done; they were dry and a little hard. The most cost effective way of making a good burger is to cook it properly. Still, a burger that’s overdone can be improved massively with proper seasoning. I don’t think there was any. Literally a sprinkle of Montréal Steak seasoning or Lawry’s on both sides of the patty would’ve helped a lot. For $ 14, this all seemed pretty insane. Even in Seattle where expenses are higher, the level of quality delivered for this price is unacceptable. A hamburger at the most exclusive restaurant in Seattle for lunch is $ 14. As others have said, something just isn’t quite right with the fries. They are also under seasoned, not crisp, and just kind of bleh. I do plan to come back in a month, just to see if anything has changed. Also, this would have been a 3 star review, but there are too many 5 star reviews from 1-review Unilocalers, as well as a review from the owner(recently taken down) that seems extremely shady.

We are so in need more family friendly casual dining options on Bainbridge Island and I’d REALLY love to see the Plate & Pint survive. Overall the ambiance and wait staff are great! I’ve been twice so far, both times the wait staff were super attentive and helpful. The draft and bottled beer selections were great, although I was told that the draft beer menu on the table did not reflect their current offerings. Why not? Why bother putting a menu on the table? The first time I had the second base burger. I enjoyed the fresh hand cut fries and the beef was flavorful. Very good overall, but not the certainly not the best on the island, in my opinion. Our second visit was a family dinner. The wings were fine. We all suggest a bit more heat on the spiciest offering. Wife said the garden burger was very bland and had too much bun. Son liked the second base burger and commented about how good the fries were. No comments on the mac & cheese or fish & chips from daughters. My half rack of baby back ribs was probably the driest, most flavorless ribs I’ve ever tasted and the cole slaw was just limp flavorless fiber. I guess that’s why there is salt & pepper on the table. We all agreed that the overall meal was pretty underwhelming and the experience didn’t really inspire us to return, which is a bummer. Now, this all being said, I want to give the Plate & Pint a chance and may try it again in a few months after they’ve been given some feedback and time to respond. Maybe they could hire Jakes Pick-up across the street to cater while they sort it out. I’d love to update with a more positive review.

Here goes. Instead of focusing in on the décor and TV screens in every direction, I wish they’d focus in a little more on the food. For example, I saw bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños on the menu and thought«damn, that HAS to be good!» but I was extremely disappointed that the peppers were grossly undercooked, the stuffing(which seemed like some sort of cheese/bacon jam mixture) seemed to have split and was unappealing, and the bacon was sort of just loosely tucked around the peppers like an afterthought. The peppers aren’t really«stuffed» either, they’re just halved with the mixture lathered on top. Nowhere near jalapeño poppers, which is kind of what I had expected. I ordered a steak and ale pie, but they didn’t have any more. Huh? So I ended up getting the burger, which I would rate pretty low. Bland. My Aunt got the cottage pie, which had a grossly disproportionate meat to potato ratio, the latter being paper thin. It did not look appealing to me, either. No carrots, no peas. at least not that I could see. The wait staff was very friendly, and they were nice enough to take the peppers off the bill since I only ate one of them, but it seemed like a pretty charmless place and the food was pretty low tier in my opinion. Even for a sports bar, which doesn’t even really fit the feel of a sports bar.

Not impressed with any of the food. Been here about 5 times and every dish I’ve had is terrible in some way. The potato skins were hollowed out and raw. Every dish we ordered came out bland. This is a place for a beer and perhaps a burger.
