Family and I visited Don peps on a Friday night. .I had the Chile verde combo, wife the enchiladad, and the other people in our party had Chile verde burittos and shrimp tacos… I enjoyed my Chile verde, had a good heat bite .wife liked her enchiladas… daughter thought the shrimp tacos were good… haven’t been here for years and forgot how small and up close a personal this place is… the servers were all very nice and friendly… we enjoyed our visit!!! And will return …

Being from out of town, I had a serious craving for some good authentic Mexican food. I took my husband and my parents to Taco Tuesday based on the reviews I read. It was awesome! Pricing went up slightly to $ 6.50 for your basic 3 hard shell tacos(chicken, shredded beef, ground beef) and margarita. It was worth every penny. The meat was seasoned well and the tacos were a good size. I added Tapatio to mine for some kick. There are pricier options for soft shell or premium meats and different types of margaritas to choose from. The restaurant was a good size and totally packed from the Taco Tuesday crowd. We left with full bellies and minimal damage to our wallets. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

So the dish I chose was absolutely delicious! cheese enchilada combination. However, the chips seemed a bit old. On a good note the salsa was great if you like chipoltle seasoning like I do. We went near closing time so maybe we got old chips. However, smarter serving fresh every time. Waitress was great, making sure she caught our refills between cleaning her section.

Awesome food and even better staff. We’ve been going here for years with our family and they recognize us and are always friendly and responsive. Great place :) would be 5 stars if the area wasn’t so rough and the building could use some updating

Great margaritas! We ordered the shredded beef tostada and a combo tamale, chile relleno plate. Delicious! This is a little hidden gem on Real Street you shouldn’t miss. Btw, reasonable prices too!

Food and drinks are great! Servers are friendly and fast, staff is welcoming and items are priced well. Want to have a nice meal with not putting a hole in your wallet, than check out taco Tuesday. Their papusas are delicious, you just have to wait for them to prepare them fresh, it’s worth the wait.

we love the food, the service, the salsa and the banana margaritas. You don’t usually have to wait unless you go on taco Tuesday.

Went out here on Taco Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised to find the specials affordable and the serving sizes extremely generous. The food was delish, the service excellent, and price affordable. Very good!

I got the combination plate, Chili Relleno, Tamale, rice and beans. Delicious and fresh. The server was very polite and fast. Plates aren’t to big so you will be able to finish. Chips and Salsa will be served. Great Guacamole.

I went there recently and my favorite item has of revuelta Papusas have become horribly greasy with an extreme lack of cheese and meat!!! You order it and just a big greasy Papusa of retried beans inside. I used to be a big fan but I’m stick again without a decent Papusa place in bako.

I’ve been coming to this place on and off since I was a teen. Today, I had flautas and they did not disappoint. One chicken, one beef, and generous heaping portions of rice and beans. Their salsa is awesome. Décor is very dated. Seat arrangement pretty strange as well. They’re going for that dimly lit feel, but it’s really too dark. Service is friendly and quick. Definitely recommend if you just want some delicious, rib-sticking Mexican food.

Fyi, I’m not a pro. I’m just a normal dude who loves to eat. I started Unilocaling so I could help others find delicious places to eat. This place is impressive. I don’t even know where to start. How about I start off with the fact that I RARELY give a restaurant a 5⁄5 star rating. I am currently sitting at a booth during lunch. I asked for pupusas de frijol y queso to start off with. This isn’t even a salvadorean spot! The pupusas were amazing!!! So hot and fresh, and the taste of the melted cheese was amazing. There were parts of burnt cheese that crusted around some spots on the edges of the pupusas and it was delicious! They didn’t use too much flour. I’ve had pupusas at other places, salvadorean places, and their proportion of filling to flour is always off. If I wanted pure flour, I’d get a tortilla. The burritos are stuffed! I got the burrito ranchero and my girlfriend got the chicken fajita burrito. Both plates come with rice and beans. Both burritos are filled with rice, beans, onions, bell peppers, and choice of meat. A lot of meat. A side of sour cream and guacamole is also included! Best part… Only $ 9.00!!! You can’t get that as a lunch special in other mexican restaurants. You can’t get that as a plate at some mexican fast food places! So, this place completely blows everyone out of the water. You may think, «well, it’s cheap so it probably tastes like cardboard.» Sir or Madame, you are wrong! The chicken fajita burrito is scrumptious. The chicken is hot and tastes fresh. The chicken with peppers alone is good enough as a dish. The steak in the ranchera burrito tastes like it just came off the grill. Rice tastes like it’s NOT from a box. Now, if you’ve read my other reviews you know I’m not one to really comment on customer service unless I’m quite impressed. Well the two time I’ve been here in the last few months, I’ve been impressed by a gentleman who is on his toes and is very attentive. He’s friendly and makes you feel very welcome. I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with him both times, and I hope he continues to serve us when we choose this restaurant. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant. It is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Tasty, quality, friendly, and affordable. Go here!

Don Pepe has a great menu with affordable lunch specials! If you are in a hurry because you are on a restricted lunch hour, they will get you in and out! I enjoy the food and the service!

They have great food for a great price. Sometimes the service isn’t that great. And they definitely don’t keep the place cool enough for my taste in the summer! But don’t let that discourage you from trying the food here. My wife swears by there chile colorado. 9÷19÷2014 Update There keeping it cooler in here now.

This is very much a local’s joint, tucked away in a strip mall in an older part of town. The first thing that struck me was their extensive drink menu that ranged from beer to specialty cocktails. I had their michelada, which had the right amount spices topped off with a Corona. I’m liking this place so far… I get to the food and it’s well… meh. One of the pluses here is you can sub pot beans for refried beans on their lunch specials. I had an enchilada and tamale for my plate which where very edible, but very standard. My group suffered from some service miscues. One person in my group asked for a chipotle sauce. To be fair, I had no idea what the hell she was asking for and I wasn’t surprised when server 1 told her they didn’t carry it. She kept asking other servers for the sauce and finally server 2 brings out some neon orange concoction that’s the sauce she’s looking for. No biggie, except the server 1 was clearly frustrated with server 2 who brought the orange sauce and he let his feelings be known on the serving floor. It was a minor showing of irritation and not some major meltdown; however, it made our group uncomfortable and afraid to ask anything else. That drink menu looks promising and I’ll be back during happy hour to try it all out. I won’t go out of my way to have lunch here again.
