BGR – The Burger Joint

Their burger was excellent. Big and cooked to our request… Med-​well. Took 9 minutes. Sweet potato fries were also great. Check out their menu. Different than most. For instance, their wild caught Salmon BLT looked great.

Based off a single experience, I found the burger to be pretty solid. The burger has a gourmet price, but that’s to be expected for better than average airport food.
There are a couple red flag reviews, that if I had read, I would have not given the place a second chance. But we were hungry, and we wanted burgers, and we deplaned across from the burger joint. Very fortuitous.
The service was quick, friends of the employees were not around for them to chat with.
I did not see those manning the grill and the food on their phones, drinking, or touching dirty things with their gloves on. You can see right into the kitchen, so I would encourage you to do so next time to keep an eye on your food if you’d like.
I received my food quickly and was on my way.
My burger was exactly like I had ordered, with all the toppings and hit the spot. I would come back again.

The best thing they did was hire Easter she is awesome. I mean the food is good but Easter puts it over the top I just wish they had nacho cheese for the fries

Great service, cheap prices for the airport and mouthwatering burgers with gourmet fries! No canned cheese sauce, fresh rosemary and fresh chopped garlic fries!

Totally unhygienic place, the food handlers need re-​education with safety. One of them was browsing her phone with the same gloves she used to prep meals and did not change gloves upon resumption of prepping. The other continued to talk while prepping burgers and was also sipping a drink while tossing burgers.

I recently tried the veggie burger with the works and wrapped in lettuce and was pretty disappointed. This burger is very, very sweet, not at all savory. It also crumbled apart quickly and had to be ate with a fork. Definitely would not order again.

Um, YES PLEASE. I loathe paying for airport food, and so will often scour the offerings for the best balance of cheap/​filling/​delicious/​healthy. It definitely doesn’t meet that last criterion, but on the other three I couldn’t have been more satisfied.
Let me tell you… I have never had airport food like this before! What a delicious burger.

Fountain soda is comically watered down, prices are akin to a legit sit down place. Horrible bang for buck.

As far as airport food goes this was an alright stop. The options are all there from various sides to a multitude of toppings for whichever burger you choose.
I had a turkey burger which was of considerable size and satiated me but didn’t really accomplish much more than that. The patties were a little dry and offered nothing memorable. The rest of the garnishes were fresh though which can quite often be questionable in these situations.
Again, I realize this is at the airport and I may be coming off pretentious, but when I’m held hostage as a commuter I have nothing better to do than critique over priced hamburgers.

Best burgers around. Made to order with plenty of options. Onion rings are massive and delicious. You wait about 5 minutes and can see it cooking. Best place to eat in the airport by far if you have a big appetite. Favorite: double cheese burger with bbq and bacon with extra pickles. Add a side of rings and 2 A&W glass bottled rootbeers. A little slice of heaven.

Came back 30 mins later, and the staff were still talking to their friends, while all the potential customers had left without getting any food.
Plenty of other options — don’t bother with this one.

Approached counter at 9:15pm and all 3 employees were in the back cooking area. One of them was moving something and told me that they were only cooking sides, no burgers. if the closing time is 10pm why are we cleaning up and not taking care of clients?

Ok… I don’t give many places 1 stars, but for the price ($ 18) I would move on and go to the sushi place next door called gachi (about $ 9), subway, or villa italian kitchen. The burger was adequate. We got the Wellington and apparently they’re known for this burger and advertise about their quality. Well the quality of the meat didn’t taste as amazing as they say. We also got sweet potato fries which didn’t come with any ketchup or condiments (probably charge extra) and were very bland. Justin and I have had way more amazing burgers for half the price at sit down places. (This place is just a pick-​up to-​go fast food place.)

Stopped by here while I was trapped at BWI due to flight cancellations and delays, and wanted some not-​too-​overpriced comfort food to stave off my impending hunger.
Per the descriptions, the Wellington Burger sounded very promising, but it ended up being completely underwhelming. You couldn’t really taste the truffle, the blue cheese detracted from the overall flavor (ended up scraping it off with a knife), and I feel like there was maybe 1 string of caramelized onion… if at all.
The patty was cooked to an acceptable medium-​rare, and service was pretty fast for supposedly made-​on-​the-​spot burgers, but it’s really not worth the price.

Not only are their burgers outrageously delicious, especially for airport grub, but Esther is hands down the sweetest employee in all of BWI! Her smiling face alone is enough to make me come back every time I pass through here.

The veggie burger is delicious. Very unique. Has brown rice, black beans, molasses and oats. Very well made. This was our first time eating at the burger joint and we would definitely do it again. We are big fans of smash burger and it seems fairly similar although the veggie burgers are very different.

Nope. Keep on moving, unless perhaps you have several hours to kill and some rolaids handy.
I was lured in my the mouth-​watering chargrilled scent. I waited in line to place my order (burger with mushroom topping and fries) then waited about 10 minutes to get my food. I opened my foil-​wrapped burger to realize the (kinda pricey) mushroom + caramelized onion + black truffle topping I had selected was missing. Understandable, there are 5 topping options and it was a busy day. No big deal, mistakes happen. Still in good spirits I returned to the counter and asked them to add the toppings. They apologized and whisked the offending burger away. About 5 minutes later my burger was returned to me, nestled back in its toasty foil wrapping.
About 20 minutes had passed at this point so I had to board my flight, as you do at the airport. Imagine my disappointment in opening my hard-​sought treasure to discover that it was STILL lacking the special topping.
If this burger had been exemplary I may have been mollified, but it wasn’t. The burger and fries were greasy, tasteless, and sad.

I had a cheeseburger at BGR while I was on a layover in BWI Terminal B and it wasn’t bad. If this restaurant wasn’t in the airport I’d give it three stars, but I’ve been to so many miserable restaurants in airports that I was pleasantly surprised. The burger tasted reasonably good, the cheddar cheese wasn’t a good enough cheddar to be worth the extra money, and the bun didn’t seem to be as fresh as I would have liked. I left half of the bun but ate the rest.
The other reviewers are right, this might not be a good place to stop if you’re in a hurry because it took about 15 minutes for me to get my burger. And they don’t tell you that it will take time before you order, so I can see where this might make for some tense moments.

We made a big mistake. What was my thinking?, that wonderful grill smell in the air might mean some good food behind it?
The Burger Joint burgers were the worst hockey-​pucks, ever delivered by a sullen dis-​interested staff.
Just get off a flight hungry?, please keep walking.
