Wiley Gunter’s is the perfect dive bar for those who love dive bars and those who don’t. This is because you can order dive bar food and drinks at dive bar prices, but you can also order beach-style drinks and or a higher end cocktail and not be out of place since many of their advertised daily specials focus on fun and interesting concoctions. Our group tried each of the drink special offerings from the grapefruit crush, to the strawberry basil, to a twist on the classic mule. The grapefruit crush reminded me of drinking at Dewey Beach. The grapefruit juice did not overkill the drink. The strawberry basil was not my favorite because it had a kick of jalapeño but I appreciated the creativity. It can get pretty dark inside during the daytime so it’s good for a rainy day but this wouldn’t be my first choice on a sunny day. Service was reliable. The seating was a bit uncomfortable. The music was good. The happy hour specials are great; drink specials range from $ 3 — $ 5 and many appetizers are priced at $ 5 Monday — Thursday from 5 pm — 7 pm and Friday from 4 pm — 7PM. Overall, Wiley Gunter’s is a great for what it is.

I like the ambience of this bar. Very good service, everyone was nice and helpful. Good food too, had the mini burger sliders. Very seasoned grows with a kick. They have most games playing on the TVs as well.

Didn’t eat any food unfortunately as we had come here after a late breakfast as Spoons. Great selection of craft beer both on draft and in bottles. Very reasonably priced(I’d almost consider it cheap since I’m used to NYC prices). The bartenders were all very friendly and knowledgeable concerning craft beer. Definitely somewhere I’d go again next time I’m in the Baltimore area.

Didn’t have a great experience. Bartender was kind of rude more interested in friends at the bar. Almost seemed annoyed when we had asked for recommendations or questions about the beer.

Great place. Service was excellent. Mango Habenero wings were awesome. The steak sandwich was huge and very good. It was a full house for lunch. I’ll be back for sure.

Hands down one of the very best burgers I’ve had on the East coast! The freshness is evident in every bite from the perfectly cooked«medium» ordered burger to the homecut/cooked fries. Apparently the secret to the amazing melding of flavors is that this place doesn’t even own a freezer. Say what?!? That’s right no freezer equals amazing tasting food!!! I ordered the Dill burger(that’s not the name, but that’s the fault of the great beer selection… which I’ll touch on later) and the combination of flavors were nothing short of perfect. WG’s offers 14 taps, a selection of 80 bottled beer, and 30+ canned beer! That’s just the start too. Dan, a very friendly and personable fellow behind the bar makes an amazing Bloody Mary mix… and this is coming from a guy who didn’t care for Bloody Mary’s. I’m a believer now LOL. For those folks who didn’t venture upstairs; WG’s sports an additional bar, extra seating and televisions, and shuffleboard and Foosball tables. This place has enough to keep someone who has nothing to do occupied for hours . I spent a good 2+ hours hanging out at my new local bar talking with the cooks, and Wiley himself. This is definitely a Cheers type hangout where everyone knows your name, and there’s never a shortage of people watching.

The bartender/server was awesome. Gave great suggestions and even helped me order something vegan which can be difficult with bar food. Got to watch the packer game in a great atmosphere. Love this place!

In Federal Hill, there’s no shortage of bars. There is however a shortage of buffalo chicken dip and when you have the craving, there is no substitute that can really satisfy you. A friend and I were going for happy hour and because I had the buffalo chicken dip crave, I was able to talk her into Wiley Gunter’s, even though it’s a Redskins bar. In terms of beer, Wiley Gunter’s has a great craft beer selection which was perfect for happy hour. I had the Buffalo Chicken Dip crave, so of course we placed an order of that with our beers. The dip was creamy, spicy, and served with warm pita and tortilla chips. Personally I prefer pita with my buffalo chicken dip so I was thrilled we were given both. The dip totally hit the spot. My friend and I also shared an order of the Pretzel Sticks which came with three dipping sauces, whole grain mustard, queso, and honey mustard. The pretzels were soft and salty, perfect. Of the three dipping sauces, my favorite was the honey mustard, but I have a love affair with honey mustard, it’s not often that I will find a condiment I like more. However, all of the dipping sauces were perfect with the pretzels. If you’re looking for some straightforward bar food in Federal Hill, Wiley Gunter’s is a great choice.

Good bar food and cold beer. Lots of TV’s if you want to watch sports. However, if your team isn’t maroon(Redskins and VA Tech), you will be out of place on gameday. Fast, friendly service, good ambience, it’s even ok for the little ones — they have a «really» high chair that matches up to the high tables. Parking is dicey unless you want to park in the nearby Shopper’s lot. Don’t park in McD’s lot, they’ve been known to aggressively tow non-customers.

Stopped in here after drinking lots of beer at The Gathering event. Downstairs was pretty packed and nice looking, but upstairs was open and people from the Baltimore Social league were chilling there. We played a couple of beerpong games and stayed there for the night. It was chill, your typical bar and late-night spot, with a kind of college feel to it… meaning it smelled like old beer and was a little divey, but that’s what makes it relaxed and fun. Didn’t order food. Guys behind the bar were decent… one seemed a little a-hole ish but it didn’t change our good night.

An amazing beer selection. Fantastic beer selection. Food is damn good for«bar food»… Even though it’s a «Redskins» bar, the place kills it.

I ordered the Ahi Tuna Nachos last night and they are AMAZING! Bartenders are very friendly and it’s a fun atmosphere(albeit a bit loud).

I got drinks and some appetizers after kickball with some friends. It’s definitely a very casual place on Sunday’s. Dan our bartender was great. The bartenders are knowledgable and friendly. The food was okay. We orders Chesapeake Nachos and chicken tenders with fries. The nachos were good for the chips on top but underneath it was just plan chips(but that’s a problem with any nacho). The nachos had very noticeable amount of crab meat(yum). The only issue I had were the overcooked chicken tenders. They were fried to the point that they were difficult to eat.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the food each time I’ve ordered from this place. My favorites have been their wraps. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap is very good, although I would recommend grilled chicken instead of fried/breaded. The Chicken Caesar Wrap and salads are also tasty. I also highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Dip. It’s very tangy. I would suggest, however, for this establishment to rethink its Old Bay pasta salad. I’ve always been a fan of Old Bay(even when I lived in Illinois). It tastes great on everything… except maybe pasta salad.

Came her for dinner the other night and I love the location. It’s got a divey feel to it. We had crab nachos, chicken tenders and sliders. All three were really good. The hand cut fries were awesome. The only real problem I had was these two kids running around screaming while their parents were at the bar. Why are your kids at a bar? Why are they running around screaming? Other than the kids, I’ll probably be back.

The age-old conundrum of whether to eat before drinking or drink before eating got the best of me at Wiley Gunters which by the name alone somehow suggests one to throw that entire air of caution, restraint, and responsibility at the wind. The door opens — Led Zeppelin blaring and the glorious whiff of stale beer, deep fried wings, and fruity cocktails beckon — it’s time to get your drink on! It’s a an experience that touches upon all necessary senses when you’re baking in 90-degree heat on a mid-afternoon Baltimore summer — with a wholesome dose of excellent pub-grub, mild absurdity, a 90s soundtrack, a palatable mix of characters, and some legendary bartenders that were more than willing to put up with my group’s raucousness. And sure enough, by the time this eagle landed, I was already about 6 drinks behind the rest. A special thanks to the asshole who tried to get me all caught with two simultaneous rounds of my personal kryptonite — SoCo and Lime that I was somehow subconsciously obligated to take. The already faded rasp of reason wore down to mindlessness, then food started to be introduced to our new-found Wiley Gunter vocabulary. Nothing short of deliciousness. Two different types of Nachos — one with crab and one with chicken. The wings? Well no matter what level you are at — they scream awesomeness. But the real superstar for me was this pretzel with Turkey bacon thing which was brilliant. I’m pretty sure I could have kept eating more and more of those. Look for more 20 and 30-somethings to stream their way in while others run out the door after a little too much drink. Epic. The real reason I love Wiley Gunters is because it’s about as real as you can get located in a city that is as real as real can get. I wish we had more placed like these in DC because a certain kind of novelty has been assigned to the places that somehow still resemble it(Stoleys, Stoneys, Black Cat, etc) which are kind of becoming the places where people just stop in to grab a selfie. Would be a pleasure to stop in at Wiley Gunters again sometime.

Obviously this isn’t a fine dining restaurant but the food is actually really good, especially considering how small the kitchen is. The bartenders are super friendly and the beer selection is great(always have a nitrous beer on tap). All the sandwiches/burgers are worth getting and both the fries and old bay pasta salad are great. Good lunch spot if you work in that area.

Wiley Gunters is a friendly 2-story bar in Riverside. It is located just past the shopping center with Shoppers and Rite Aid. It’s a Skins bar and transforms into AWESOMENESS for their games, including playing HTTR on the speakers when the Skins score(a must!) I was impressed by the service considering that this place was packed wall-to-wall for the game. The bartender was fast and you can order food on either floor and they will come find you(and promptly) to serve you your food! Prices are reasonable and thank the lord-they have a decent vodka selection along with their many seasonal beers. They also were super friendly. The crowd is your typical 20s fed hill crowd. They also have happy hour M-Th 5 – 7 and Fridays 4 – 7 with $ 3 and $ 4 drinks, and $ 5 apps! Will be back soon to check it out!
