I was taken back on my first visit to Basil’s as to why it wasn’t busier. The reason I concluded it wasn’t known by people. I was greeted very warmly by the counter person who was able to describe items on the menu with great knowledge. I ordered the cream of chicken soup, which was served HOT and thick. The chef told me the soups are made fresh daily. The soup was great!!! Filled with carrots, and chicken in a savory cream sauce. I also had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich filled with shaved steak, green peppers and onions. The roll was lightly toasted, and covered with cheese the way a Philly steak sandwich should be served. Along with potato chips and a large dill pickle. I was definitely full when I left. The only drawback was the server never offered a refill on beverage. I would recommend this place for either lunch or dinner.

Stopped to get takeout to bring to Thunder Road. Steak bomb special was good, but not as good as the rustic chicken on focaccia which was FANTASTIC! Highly recommended.

I have always had good experiences and food at basils. They always treat me well and get my order right. I wouldn’t say their pizza is the best but its good for the surrounding competition. They have very good grinders and pasta. As well as chicken. I suggest checking this place out!

Yes it looks like a dump, a dive, seedy… but if you can get past the décor, you’ll be treated to excellent food served by a perky waitress. Or, skip the décor and get your food to go, or delivered. We had a delicious meatball pizza and an excellent Greek salad. Not bad for a strip mall dive! Very reasonable prices too. If you’re hungry for a good New York style pizza, you can’t go wrong with Basil’s.

Because of Unilocal comments, went to Basils for lunch. It is really not very elegant but food was very good. Waitress was extremely chatty and friendly. I had the gyro and husband had veggie sub. Both were very good. This is a good lunch spot if you’re in the neighborhood.

Never judge a book by Its cover. When my guy pulled in the parking lot, I was like, I dont think so! Looked like a little dive from the outside. I decided stop being such a snob and went inside, very clean and cute. Good menu. I got the chicken pesto sandwich on foccacis roll. OMGAMAZING,!!! Perfection. Chicken was tender. Tomato mustve been fresh picked. Perfectly melted mozzarella cheese. I’m salivating reliving this meal. Came with a crisp pickle and a generous serving of chips. The food was so good, I went back the next day for lunch and got same dish. Then again for dinner for the pizza. Pizza was also good, steak tip salad was amazing. This cook either owns the place or got tired of working in restaurants. His food is just too good to not have a serious vested interest! The waitress was fantastic, she was friendly, and very knowledgeable on the menu. She was as personable to us mass newbies as she was to the regulars. You can tell she loves her job. There was a different waitress the next day who was also as nice. She remembered me at dinner, from being there earlier. The takeout is carefully packaged to keep what needs to be crisp, crisp. All in all this place is 5 star. I can’t wait to go back! Sooo glad I gave them a chance!

We, too, chose this based on Unilocal reviews so wanted to add our own. We found honest, homemade food, friendly staff, good prices, and a great space for kids to roam. A perfect post-skiing stop.

I was in town for a night and wanted something close by. Based on the reviews on Unilocal,I went here for dinner and was not disappointed even though I only had soup and salad. The soup of the day was potato with bacon and ham and it had a lovely flavor(not just because of the bacon!) The Greek salad was crisp and fresh and they used good Feta cheese.

We stopped here for lunch with low expectations. I was expecting your typical townie pizza joint from the look of the building, but the pizza was surprisingly delicious. The interior has about 12 booths/tables, so plenty of space for eating in. We orderd a meatball and onion pizza(2 toppings was about $ 15) and it was piping hot when she brought it to our table. The crust was crispy, even in the center of the pizza, and then the edge crust was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They were generous with their toppings and all in all it just had amazing flavor. Seriously some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Loved it!

I love this place for lunch! The pizza tastes really fresh, with nice thin crispy crust. We’ve also had the greek salad and a gyro. All fresh and tasty. And the service is prompt and friendly. Definitely a place to try.

I have had several experiences with Basil’s. My first experience, I picked up a Ham, Broccoli, and Feta Pizza there to share with my daughters. We all enjoyed the pizza. It had a crispy thin crust with a good amount of toppings on it. Would definitely order another pizza from Basil’s. The second experience we decided to have lunch there. We ordered a variety of food. I choose the Bacon/Swiss Burger. I enjoyed it — the burger was thick/juicy and had a good amount of bacon on it. I had it with onion rings which were good — not great a bit greasy but not bad. We also ordered the rustic chicken focaccia sandwich. The chicken was tender and moist with a good amount of cheese, onions and tomatoes served in the sandwich. The one disappointing choice was the kid’s Macaroni and Cheese. It was not really suited to a child’s taste. The macaroni was large ziti with a white cheese sauce that tasted rather pasty versus cheesy.
