On the trip for a college biology class, me and my group decided to stop at the infamous Barstow Del Taco. Even though we were going to be late for the meeting, we went anyways. We are such rebels! Anyways, the food came out quickly after the order. The fish taco was quite alright. The taco came with a lime and cabbage. The Barstow taco was full of meat and cheese and a crisp slice of tomato on top. It was delicious. The soft taco was good with the del scorcho sauce. The medium fries came out later than the tacos and they needed more salt. They did not have enough ketchup available at the tables. The water is seperate from the ice dispenser. The wait cleaned our trays with a smile. Overall rating: 4 stars.

I travel between LA and Las Vegas every couple weeks. I was asked if I ever stop at the Del Taco in Barstow to eat. Yea right!!! No thank you!!! Not a fan… But last night I decided to see what all the Buzz was about! I was surprised to see how busy it was and to see that the menu had some surprises. Barstow Tacos, Barstow Street Tacos and Carnitas Burritos. I got one of each and was presently surprised. it seems the regular hard shell tacos have like double meat and double cheese. The street tacos have cilantro and onions with the meat in a soft shell corn tortilla. The meat has a slow cooked flavor you would expect from a traditional restaurant, not what you would expect from a «Fast Food Joint.» It is clear they take passion in their food! I decided to eat outside on my tailgate and Ed walked up and checked on me to see how I was enjoying the food. I confessed that I am not a fan of Del Taco but complimented him on their food. That location is the best! Food is flavorful and hits the spot! Reminds me of authentic street tacos and the Carnitas wasn’t the usual fast food burrito. Ed spent a few minutes chatting with me about life and family and what would you know! He is Ed Hackbarth the founder of Del Taco! He was one of the nicest guys I have ever met! He sold Del Taco years ago but they kept that location and kept following the same recipes from 50 years ago. That is what America is about! Nice to see great people successful. I will always make that Del Taco a stop on my trips. Always love to support great people that have passion for what they do! You should stop to eat a piece of history!

I was wondering if u have sour cream in your guacamole? No — okay then I would like an order of guacamole. I get the order in one of those salsa containers that maybe cost 3 cents a piece. Eat the top portion of it only for the bottom layer to be filled with sour cream. Hey, I’m allergic to dairy. Spring for the 3 cents next time and only put guacamole in it.

The best Del Taco! Off the 15, great place to stop and grab some tacos on your way to Vegas or after. The Barstow tacos are SOGOOD. Double meat and double cheese with shredded lettuce and a slice of tomato. The ground beef taste so much better then any other location I’ve been too. Even their taco shells taste better. They have a special for 3 Barstow tacos for less than 3 $! What a deal. If you like sour cream ask for sour cream aim your tacos. You won’t regret it. Yum!

Traditional stop before hitting up Vegas. If you’re stopping for gas, swing by this place. Order, get a number, and employees bring you your food. Everything is bigger than what you would normally receive at your local del taco, seriously. The Barstow tacos have a generous amount of meat and cheese, topped off with a whole tomato. The shells they use taste super fresh — not like that stale crunch, but more like a stab-the-roof-of-your-mouth fresh. If you’re looking for those dollar menus or value deals, don’t bother here. Everything’s bigger in Texas, they say. Well everything’s bigger at this del, that’s for sure. Dress warm, it’s flipping cold outside here.

This is definitely not your typical Del Taco from down the street. They have carnitas burritos and tostadas that are similar to an authentic Mexican taco stand. It is still a Del Taco and they still use factory sourced Del Taco ingredients. The food tastes artificial and soulless. I had a carnitas burrito. It had real braised carnitas pork, green mole sauce and cheese. It managed to fill me up and cost $ 3.82 with tax. The next best thing in Barstow would be In-N-Out.

Great place to stop on the way to Vegas to grab a taco and go to the restroom. The restroom is large and clean. The restaurant is clean and the food is ok. There is plenty of parking.

This Del Taco is really weird. REALLY weird. They don’t have value bean burritos. They only do BIG. They don’t have classic tacos, they only have«Barstow Tacos,» which are big tacos with a slice of tomato on top. Not diced tomatoes. SLICED. Weird. The prices are higher than the regular one, and the food is not as good. My kids ordered their burritos without cheese, but they came with giant chunks of cheese drooping from the burrito. The one thing I like: they have a water fill station to fill an entire water bottle with filtered water. The weird thing: It isn’t near the soda fountain, which is a little confusing.

As one of the original Del Tacos in Barstow, this location does not disappoint. Yes, everything on the menu is better here than any other location. The high turnover of ingredients makes everything more fresh, along with bigger portions and different offerings. The service is quick so you can get back on the road, the dining room is clean, and the bathrooms are large. You can’t go wrong making this your go-to stop off the 15. It’s also walking distance to Starbucks and In-N-Out if you have other people in the car that want something different.

Hands down the best Del Taco between Vegas and LA. If not the best Del Taco. This is the original Del Taco location opened since 1964. I bring all my friends down here and they realize why once they get there. They have a special BARTOW menu just for their location. They serve Barstow tacos, Barstow chicken soft tacos, and Barstow buns. Each taco is pulled up with meat and lettuce, cheese, and even a slice of tomato. It’s double the size of your normal tacos. My fav items are the Barstow chicken soft taco and Barstow taco. It’s also a plus that that leave a basket of hot sauce right at the table to help yourself too. I order one of each and I’m super full! What is also interesting is that they have a special ice cream dispenser/bar in their kitchen!!! It looks like an ice cream parlor in a fast food restaurant! Lol… They have a wide variety of ice tea selection that I would recommend checking out. My fav is the peach ice tea. It’s not too sweet and it has a nice flavor of a light peach taste. This location is always busy but they still serve you fast. The parking lot always have a lot of parking and ppl go in and out pretty fast. They also have a drive thru if you just don’t have the time to dine in. I will continue to make my stop here en route to Vegas!!! Whoo hoo!

This place never disappoints! 5 stars every time I come here. Tastes nothing like a typical del taco. Quality tasty food and fresh ingredients. My go to is the Barstow chicken soft taco and the bean and cheese burrito with red and secret sauce. I make it a point to stop here everytime I pass through Barstow. Definitely better and friendlier service this time. Love the fact that the sauces are on the table(p.s. the medium sauce in the black package is the tastiest).

I love Del Taco. I am a fan through and through and it will always be better than Taco Bell. I have been around for the creation of Del Scorcho hot sauce(6th grade). I got some Del Taco pogs in the 6h grade, too! Pogs were the thing back then. I have been around for the Inferno hot sauce, too. Generally every facility I have been to is well maintained. The Barstow location is no exception. A nice staff and they bring your food to you. How precious. The Barstow location is one of the first Del Taco restaurants! *** I just wish that they would bring back Oreo Toppers! Does anyone remember those? Soft serve ice cream(served in the same type of cups that bean cups are in) topped… no, doused with crushed Oreos… for .50 cents! This was so great for my mom(a single parent) to cheaply get her children a special treat. ***
