Our main goal was to venture around Mid-City for their Hot Art Cool Night event, but when you’re hungry… you’re hungry! Food is a basic element of survival after all! Lol Because we had a friend already nearby grabbing a table at Bistro Byronz, we decided to head there instead of Gouter.(Sorry Goutër). Since I could wait no longer, I hurried and ordered their spinach and artichoke dip. I liked that they served it with crunchy kettle chips. For entrée, I ordered their popular Beau Coup Burgers: open faced burger, spinach, tomatoes… and not just any choices of cheese but with mixed cheese AND blue cheese. I love cheese. Lol I ordered the burger medium, but it came out well done and quite burnt. My friend let me sample a bit of his salad and their Asian vinegrette. It was a bit salty, but not bad. Our server Devin was super sweet and despite the chaos of the crowd that the event drew in, she was very pleasant and helpful. Once a server back in the days, I know it can be hard to remain calm when it gets crazy. Bravos Devin, bravos!

I recently came here on a girls trip to New Orleans and in the day we came from St. Francisville after a day of exploring a couple of plantations through the day, we were getting very hungry. My friends and I were exploring different restaurants to try around Baton Rouge and Bistro Byronz popped up. Now I was a bit apprehensive because I don’t care to try fancy restaurants, I like to stick to what I know however, I decided to be adventurous and give this place a try. I was told that it was featured on Food Network so I thought I’d give this place a try. Just to also let you know I did not read the Unilocal reviews upon arriving here besides checking in. When we drove in the restaurant it was dead, no cars and assumed that it was closed but in fact it was open. We thought well that’s a plus that we would get our food in time since we had the restaurant to ourselves, but I was proved wrong. Our server was slow and acted stuck up, first of all your a server and second if you want a tip I expect to get good service. I ordered the Byronz Burger and told the waiter I wanted my meat cooked well done. The waiter served us water which tasted like it was carbonated. What really ticked me off was the wait especially because I was hangry! Lol we waited about over 30 minutes for our food I was getting upset that I told the host if my food wasn’t here that I was going to leave. He said that it should be coming out and indeed was he right. My friend had ordered the spinach artichoke dip which was pretty cheesy but good, probably because I was hungry then ordered the chips with cheese, these were happy hour specials. Now as for my burger, the meat was cooked charred and the inside was pink, not the way I wanted it but I was too hungry to say anything. Fries were cold and the waiter was not friendly with me but he was with everybody else. For being a tourist and this place being featured nationally this restaurant is horrible. I will not be returning here anytime I’m visiting Louisiana. Do not give this place a try service and food was horrible. I only ate it because I was hungry.

Not really that impressed. tastes were a little bland on the chicken avocado BLT and service was very slow. May return another time, but don’t really see the hype.

Ate there with family today. The blue cheese chips are awesome. My dish however was awful. I combined half an order of pain Pandou and eggs Benedict. The pain Pandou was just toasted bread with powdered sugar on top. Hard and dry. The egg Benedict was tasteless and cold. There was one grape and a few very small chunks of cantaloupe on the plate. The other dishes looked good but mine was a great disappointment. Really, I think you can do better than this. I should have sent it back but my daughter would have thought I was being too picky. The waiter was nice but the wait was long because the place was very busy on a Sunday and noisy. Family had grilled chicken, burger and sandwich with avocado. Those dishes seemed to be ok.

Checked this place out during the Hot Art Cool Nights Event. Our server Devin was great, she helped my indecisive friend pick out her meal, and was very knowledgeable of the menu. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip. I think it is better than the one at Chimes. My Poisson Paillard entrée came with a Bistro salad on the side. The combination of pecans, mandarin oranges, and the dressing was really great. What bothered me was the fact that I found some string or thread in my horseradish sauce that came with the fish. The server brought it to the back immediately, came back and stated the chef said it’s from the fish… and that fish can be stringy… The chef and manager never spoke to our table and I honestly still feel it was not supposed to be in the sauce… I should have snapped a photo before she brought it to the back because something was definitely not right…

I’ve never had a bad meal here. Dined during Restaurant Week, and they had the most amazing tomato basil soup and crème brûlée!

I had a business lunch at this Establishment and was very pleased. The atmosphere was very elegant and the service was delightful. I had a party of 8 and we were accommodated with swift service and the food was delicious. I was surprised at how cheap the food was for all that we ordered. I recommend this place for a date or lunch with a friend.

So, this review will be kind of long, but I felt the need to share my experience(despite the high possibility it’ll end up with the«not currently recommended» reviews). Firstly, I’ll explain who I am; I attend college at LSU and work at a law firm down the same road as this restaurant, which I was VERY excited to try. I’d heard some negatives about the food & service, but their menu looked so delicious I decided to stop in for lunch one day. This brings me to the second part of my story; this restaurant takes TigerCash(my university’s version of a debit /credit card) which was the deciding factor in my visit here. Yes, I work, but like the typical college student I’m broke more often than I like to admit. On this particular day, I was pretty much flat-broke, but a coworker(also enrolled at LSU) was eager to get lunch during our 1 hour break. Once we found out that Bistro Bryonz took TigerCash, there was no question about where we’d go. Also, I am very well aware that the machines that take TigerCash have frequent problems, so of course I called ahead of my visit to ensure that they did indeed take this form of payment as well as to make sure the machine was up-and-running. Finally, to my full-blown, awful experience here. Once we arrived and scanned the menus, we decided on the bleu cheese chips for an appetizer. Individually, I ordered the gumbo poboy with the risotto cake for a side. My coworker ordered a salad with specific instructions for preparation(chicken salad atop). Our food took a good while to get there(about 45 minutes) despite the fact that we were 2 of maybe 7 people in the whole restaurant. Our waitress never once came to refill our waters, leaving us parched until our food was served. We got the bleu cheese chips first, which where very mediocre. The chips weren’t seasoned with anything which made them taste lackluster. The sparse amount of cheese atop didn’t help much with the flavor either. Finally, our entrees arrived. Again, mine was very average-tasting. I thought the idea of it was unique, but the gumbo wasn’t seasoned very well and left me wanting a little something more… The risotto cake was the only good thing about my entire meal; it was very cheesy and cooked to perfection. My coworker, however, was less than satisfied with her salad. Recall how she ordered caesar salad with chicken salad on top? Apparently they couldn’t comply with those instructions and our waitress didn’t bother to let us know. Her dish arrived not only without chicken salad, but with shredded lettuce and sauce on this side; very different than any caesar salad we’ve ever had. Apart from the mediocrity of the food and bad wait staff, we sat there for another hour waiting for them to run our TigerCards. The machine was having some technical difficulties, which I understand is beyond their control, but because we were both in college and using TigerCash they assumed we had nothing better to do with our time but sit there and wait. Our waitress suddenly took interest in our table because she showed up now more than she ever had to ask us for alternate forms of payment. The manager even stopped by and asked us for another card /cash without an apology for the inconvenience. I wasn’t looking for a free meal, but anywhere else would have had the consideration to give us a free meal or a discount at the very least. Had I not called ahead of time to make sure we could eat here with TigerCash, I wouldn’t have spent my precious time writing this review. I would have brushed it off and probably tried here again. However, I did call ahead and I feel like my treatment here was more than unfair. They did offer us ONE free dessert while we waited, but we were fuming because they made us an hour late to work, where we could have made triple what their stupid dessert was worth. Little to their knowledge, my boss asks us for opinions on local restaurants so that he can use them to cater for special clientele, parties, etc. Needless to say, he was glad we warned him about this place, especially since he has a daughter in college as well. He also warned his fellow attorney associates & friends. Bistro Byronz, you lost a lot of potential business today. Next time, think twice before treating college students like crap just because they’re paying with TigerCash.

Food was great the mac n cheese blu is amazing as a side for an entrée! However try to avoid the restrooms. Very run down looking and there was a smashed roach on the wall right next to me as I was trying to use the restroom. Completely turned me off.

Ate lunch, was impressed. Came back on a sunday for brunch, and that was a huge mistake. Ordered shrimp and grits, and received a bowl of grits and bland brown gravy, with one, tiny, measly, previously frozen shrimp on top. I’m not sure whether to be disappointed, embarrassed, or offended that a restaurant that prides itself in local and southern quisine, would butcher a classic dish like shrimp and grits. I’ll be back, but those two missing stars won’t be.

An amazing take on brunch with a Louisiana twist. For drinks we ordered frozen mimosas, a pitcher of mimosa, and a pitcher of poinsettia. The bartender was extremely talented. As an appetizer we shared an order of French toast. It melted in your mouth and the jelly was so sweet. I’ve never had a French bread French toast that tasted quite like that. My entrée was the shrimp and potato pancakes, eggs Benedict on their house bread, and hash browns. I’ve never had shrimp and potato pancakes before but on this trip I wanted to try the local Louisiana cuisine. I was not disappointed. I was surprise at how well shrimp went with breakfast, especially with the hollandaise sauce. The eggs Benedict was cooked just right and the cooked ham was just the right thickness to be cut with a fork. I was a little disappointed with the hashbrowns though. It was less hashbrowns and more seasoned potatoes with other stuff mixed in it. Overall I was extremely satisfied and would come back specifically for their brunch.

Went here for brunch/lunch yesterday with my family. The service is absolutely horrible. We started off with the chips with triple cheese. That was amazing. I had the burger and it was good as well as the fries. Mom got the hamburger steak and said it had no seasoning. My dad got the chicken and said it was moist and good. My niece got the french toast it was pretty good as well. The service is absolutely horrible. The waiter was not on his game at all.

Awesome awesome awesome!!! They make their own chips. They’re outstanding with the spinach dip. So many things on the menu I want to try. This is a «must» place to eat. Great atmosphere.

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Surprisingly it was not packed at all! The prices are decent and the food is delicious! I don’t have much to say about brunching here since it’s the usual, food + mimosas. I ordered the Pot Roast… ANDITWASSOGOOD. I mean it’s a simple dish and that is why i love it. I would definitely some back here to try other food items!

Found this place randomly on Unilocal and I’m very happy that we did! Went for brunch. The boyfriend and I both got the brunch mix and match. I got the shrimp pomme paillard and the bistro sardou. I feel like brunch items always get cold by the time they get to the table so that’s unfortunate(and the reason for 4 stars), but the shrimp/potato pancake was fantastic. I recommended this place to my friend who is newer to BR as well. I’d go again.

Saw this place by accident, and decided to try it out. I had the blackened tuna and my wife had the fried catfish and étouffée. Both were delicious, the bloody Mary was perfect. The bread pudding was excellent.

I’ve been here a few times and for me, it’s been consistently good. Recently we had the pot roast lunch and the back of the stove chicken lunch. Superb! It felt like I was eating straight out of my mom’s kitchen. On top of the food being delicious, service was great as well! A jewel of a restaurant! This will always be a sure bet for me :-)

Bistro Byronz lived up to the hype. I’ll just get straight to the main points. Liquor wise, I had a Sazerac and an old fashioned. The bartenders obviously knew what they were doing. Both drinks were made impeccably. I had the back of the stove chicken. People that tried my meal all agreed I had the best dish at the table. It was slow cooked chicken breasts(fork tender) with brown gravy over rice, with a side of sweet corn and Lima beans aka succotash. For dessert, I went with the cookie crumble parfait. It was 2 cookies, broken up and stuck in a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauces. Sounds simple, but that’s all it needs to be. The waitstaff was knowledgable and attentive. We had a party of about 20 and two servers shared us. Everyone had a great experience.

I always really enjoy this place. Great food, great service, great local vibe. Definitely a unique part of Baton Rouge and mid-city. They always seem to be changing up the menu and I like that. Great week day happy hour food & drinks 3 – 6. They have a great brunch but it can be packed! I need to come here more!
