Kung Fu Chinese Restaurant

This location has been through a lot of changes in the past 15 years. It was a Chinese restaurant called the Golden Wok back before cell phones were popular. We went there for lunch quite often. It was very nice inside and had very good food. Like most restaurants it lost its way after awhile. The quality and service went down when they started hiring non Chinese cooks and other staff. They abruptly closed and it became some kind of bar that I never went to. That wasn’t a big hit, so, it became a furniture store. That didn’t last much longer and then Kung Fu opened. I was happy that the venue came full circle and that it was good Chinese food. Over the last several years it has continued to decline both in quality and service. They knew it too because they started a discount lunch on Mondays to get customers in on the slowest day. We haven’t been there for dinner in a few years, but, the lunch declination must surely indicate the same for dinner. Today we decided that it too has come to its end, at least for us. The steam trays don’t keep the food hot and most of the food just doesn’t taste the same from one visit to the next. But the worst thing is that we found a piece of steel scrub pad in the fried rice. IN OUR MOUTH!!! I told the woman hostess/​manager what we found and she looked up from her chair behind the register with her cell phone in hand and said
«Yes, that is what we scrub the pans with». I was absolutely appalled!!! I said’ Not in the food! The fried rice needs to be removed from the buffet immediately!!” She got up and gave this totally unconcerned look, as if I was bothering her and her cell phone messaging. She moved with a completely uninterested and lackadaisical walk while people were still serving themselves the fried rice. She continued to let people get the rice until another pan came out. We will never, I repeat, NEVER, return! I hope everyone reads this and discontinues their patronage. This restaurant needs to close its doors. I have made an online complaint to the health department.
The inspection reports for this business, and thousands of others, are open to the public on their website. I will now review these reports before I go anywhere else.
UPDATE:
This business is officially closed.
I can only hope to think that reporting them to the authorities caused the inevitable. The system apparently does work to protect the consumer.

Food was great and there was a large variety. Didn’t try the sushi but everything else was really good. Customer service was good and everyone was very friendly. It was very clean and decorated beautifully. I didn’t expect it to be as nice as it was on the inside due to the outside appearance. I would definitely return.

Decent place but Im not sure why I didnt make the connection with it. Good variety of food, ok quality. Wasnt really excited about it though. It could use an update too.

Food was amazing ! Don’t know what the heck others are talking about. The Monday deal is only 4.99 $ try finding another restaurant to best that.

Awful food my husband and I just went there and I have never tasted such nasty food in all my life. The food was rubbery and not fresh. We paid for our drinks and left and went somewhere else. Not worth the time or money to go to this place. Also my husband and myself got food poisoning from the crab salad. We only came up with the crab salad because that the only thing we both had that night.

Decent for the price but not anything to write home about!

When it first opened it was a phenomenal deal but now that it has gotten more popular the quality has gone down. It is fine… but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there. Not bad though and it is a cheap mid-​day lunch buffet. Seems clean.
