Joes bakery is a staple in the community. Best bread in new york!!! Pastries and cookies are always baked with perfection. The cannolis are out of this world.

All the butter cookies are pretty good. The apricot sandwich cookies and lemon drops are exceptional and always fresh. They are $ 7 a pound. Get a box of assorted cookies and dunk in your tea.

Walked in out wondering what they sold in this bakery. Bought a pound of bread sticks, which were delicious. I also bought a loaf of raisin bread, the bread itself looked good but it was very dry. I assume there maybe semolina in the dough, so the bread is not as moist. The Italian cookies looked nice but everything is by the pound. Will have to come back and try them.

I love this place. Joe’s Sicilian Bakery is the pride of Bayside. They make out of this world bake goods. Breads, cookies, and an Apple Crumb Coffee Ring that I can’t get enough of.

The breads there are the best! Freshly baked every morning. Most of cookies are tree nut free since I have nut allergies. Yay a piece of bread and a piece of heaven for me!

Good cookies and pizza. Good people. Unilocal insists I write more to publish so I am putting in more words for you to read. Have a nice day.

I’ve lived in Bayside for two months and have ordered three cakes already! I’ve also tried their cookies, pastries and bread. I can live without the pastries, but the cookies and bread are to die for. Consistently fresh and truly out of this world. If you want an old school bakery without the frills, but good quality cakes and cookies this is the best in Queens!

Definitely one of the best Italian bakery in Bayside. This place need more exposure since not many people are aware of this hole in the wall bakery. Martha’s get all the raves in Bayside but people should definitely try out their Olive bread and Cannoli.

Amazing!!! I found this place through Unilocal and is clearly a hidden gem because it’s up the block from me!!! The bread was crispy and soft… amazing! If it wasn’t for the bread those sandwiches would have tasted so good! I will be returning especially for the semolina and the baguettes!

Holidays and weekend mornings can be long lines but worth the wait! Best rainbow cookies ever!

The cannoli is 2nd to none. It is the absolute best cannoli I’ve ever eaten. The cinnamon in the shell makes it. The rainbow cookies are perfection: sweet, dense, and moist. The sfgliatella is crisp, flakey, with a sweet-enough filling. The focaccia with olives, while tasty, had a bit too much sugar in the tomato sauce for me. Bottom line, I will be going back for the pastries.

How did I never know about this place until now? Wonderful Italian cookies and a very yummy canoli! Nice selection, too.

This review is solely for the rainbow cookies. Here visiting family in queens — and I miss my rainbow cookies! LA has some great sweets but bit many Italian bakeries. These rainbow cookies are superb, unlike any I’ve have. They come in raspberry or apricot. Moist, flavorful and not tooth achy sweet. Dark chocolate is rich. This cookie is perfection and you pay for it! These are about $ 1 a piece but worth it. Went down the street to another bakery do a side by side. The other was good and cheaper .75 buy a little dry and inferior to Joe’s cookies! Definitely coming back before heading to the airport to hoard some.

6 pignoli cookies for $ 8+… and they were stale. The foccacia was almost good… We had the one with black olives on it. Ate some of it and inspected closer– mold on the olives :/

Best Bayside Italian Bakery The rainbow cookies are the best I’ve ever had. The artificial food coloring is plentiful. The consistency is perfect, not too hard, not too soft. The thick dark chocolate bottom is the foundation for the colors of the Italian flag. The tangy raspberry jam holds everything together. It’s an Italian symbolic symphony of flavors. They also have apricot flavored rainbow cookies, if that’s what you fancy. The pignolis are also one of my fave’s here. The taste of the roasted pine nuts atop these cookies add a savory component. There is a crisp and crunchy layer on the outside and the soft and sweet inside. Beware of instant addiction. Holy Cannoli Batman! They are freshly filled. You got a choice of large ones, mini-ones, and chocolate covered ones. Delicious Sicilian pizza too! The blessed bread is airy and hole-y.

Yesssssss! I love Joe’s bakery, it’s so damn good. There are so many delicious options available that I don’t even know which is my favorite. No wait, I lied-the Napoleon cakes are def my favorite. They’re so good and always fresh. If Napoleons aren’t your thing then don’t fret, they have plenty of other options too! Everything from cannolis to cheesecakes to red velvet cakes to different breads to cookies and even Napoleons– wait did I mention those already… Everytime I’ve gone I’ve always had to wait on line, us locals know where it’s at. So the earlier you get there, the better. Also they’re cash only, no cc, no check, nothing but cold hard cash. So I think that’s all that comes to mind right now. But dammit, now I’m craving a Napoleon.

Gosh, I really gotta tip my hat to places like this. Keeping it authentic and local. Never the need to be flashy, or pretend to be something it doesn’t want to be! Sometimes, somethings do need to be updated as time goes on — yet somehow, when it comes to good food — I don’t think that necessarily applies. No seats, no iced lattes, no neons signs. Opens early, when the baking is good — and closes early, when they’ve done a day’s baking and selling. I don’t know why but that just seems right for what Joe’s is. Excellent quality and prices. A full selection of cakes, breads, pastries, cookies and … yes, pizza. A humble neighborhood shop that has been around a very long time. Don’t tell me this place doesn’t look pretty. What’s not beautiful about an unchanged, family-owned, long-running, quality bakery like this?!

Some things they do great … some could be better. Their sfogliatelle are excellent among the best I’ve had. To be the best they would need a little more spice and a bit more citron… but some people don’t like that so it’s a matter of taste. But among the best I’ve had. We did order a lobster tail with canolli cream which was good but already soggy. If it were fresh out of the oven and newly filled it would have been great. And we did try the rainbow cookies. Ask for a sample and I’ll bet you’ll buy some.

Buddy might be the cake boss of «Carlos bakery» in Hoboken New Jersey, but Joe’s Sicilian is the cake boss of Bayside NY! Let me tell you something, Joe doesn’t need a reality show to prove to you or anybody else that his cakes are phenomenally good. The cannoli filled cakes and pastries are out of this freaking world delicious! The lemon drops, lobster tails, Sfogliatelle and fresh baked breads are truly awesome! I know Joe bakes for many restaurants in the local area, so you know they gotta be good. If you have or are planning a special event, Joe can make a cake to order. One time I ordered a cannoli filled chocolate cake. My guests wanted to eat the cardboard backing the cake was sitting on, oh yeah, it’s that good! Can you find a better Italian bakery in the Bayside area? FUGGED-ABOUT-IT!!! And if you do, Me, Sal, Tony and Vinny are gonna pay you a little visit, Capiche?
