Great place to enjoy breakfast!!! Service and food was spot on. Outlaw Omelet was plenty of food and delicious along with biscuits and gravy plus a pancake, I left hurting. In and out in 30 mins on a weekday around 8am.

I’ve been to Old West a number of times in the past and have always liked their food. I had family in town visiting, and wanted to treat them after church. We had 7 people in our group and were told the wait would be 45 minutes. We were happy to wait. As 45 minutes approached, I asked the presumed manager how much longer he thought it would be. He explained to me that he had only 3 spots larger enough to fit our party, or needed to wait until multiple tables next to each other opened up at the same time. I understood. He promised to personally come and get us as soon as one of those things happened. We continued to wait and watch while parties continued to be seated, even though the website had been saying we were next in line to be seated for at least 5 – 10 minutes. Finally, a large group that had been occupying one of the 3 coveted large tables finally decided to leave. I watched the employees clean and separate the tables. Huh I thought… wonder why they separated the tables? I thought that’s where we were going to sit. We finally left after being told someone else was going to sit there and we couldn’t. The thought that this restaurant would be tagged as «Good for Groups» is laughable If you ask them, they have only 3 tables to seat large parties. I’ll never go back.

I was in the mood for breakfast but didn’t want to cook or go to a chain restaurant, so I hopped on Unilocal, looked up a few local cafés/diners and went with the one with the most high reviews hoping they didn’t steer me wrong… Boy was I pleased when the food not only met but exceeded the reviews. When we first arrived we were told the wait for 2 would be about 30 minutes but we also requested a booth which played a factor on that time. The take your phone number and you get a text letting you know you’re on the waiting list(which there is also a link so you can play Pac-Man while you wait) and you get another text when your table is ready(in case you’re waiting in the car like we were). All of the waiters and waitresses are extremely friendly and helpful. The décor screams southern comfort but it’s not over done. There are even quotes and adages all over the walls so you can have fun things to read while waiting on your food. The food came out in a timely manner and everything was hot and accurate. We ordered the pancakes, sausage, and bacon with eggs. The pancakes were huge and fluffy, we were fine with one each. The original syrup was delicious but they also have other flavors for those of you looking for a food adventure. The sausage and bacon were tasty and the eggs were cooked to perfection, but you self season the eggs to taste. All in all, everything was well worth a try and the entire menu is reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning and taking others to try them out too!

Great brunch — perfect for a Sunday hangover. Always super busy, so be prepared to wait, especially on the weekends. I wish there was more area to sit while you wait. You get a huge amount of food for the price. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Once you can make it through the long wait the food is worth it.

This place has the best breakfast options of any restaurant I’ve ever had! The food is so good, I have had almost everything on their menu and have not had anything that wasn’t good. The portions are always big enough for that big breakfast appetite! Service is always great and affordable menu will have you coming back for more!

Probably THEBEST spot for breakfast anywhere in the dfw area! We used to drive all the way to their grapevine location(which is ALWAYS packed on a Saturday) until we found a closer location in Bedford. Different location but the same delicious breakfast food. The portions here are HUGE! The first time my husband and I came, we order our own separate meals. Needless to say, we had a ton to take home. So now we order one meal, The Wrangler. At $ 11.99 it leaves 2 grown people VERY full! My favorite of this dish has to be the hashed Browns. It’s so flavorful and I can’t put my finger on why(my husband is convinced that it’s just extra butter). The biscuits and gravy are also awesome. The gravy is thick with tons of sausage! We always try to make it out here on Saturday morning, but it’s hard since they close at 2! So do yourself a favor and try out Old West.

We went for lunch/brunch on a recommendation about an hour before closing. The place was packed! You couldn’t tell from the outside that it was gonna be so busy. The staff was friendly and welcoming upon arrival, we were told it would be about a 30 min wait, maybe less. We got text messages letting us know our status and when our table was ready. While waiting we could see plates of HUGE portions of yumminess pass us by, we couldn’t wait to eat! We weren’t disappointed at all, the food was amazing, our server, Hunter, was very nice and fast. We didn’t feel rushed at all, especially since we got there so close to closing. Our next visit to town, we will definitely come back! Now, I will say the ONLY reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the Host that brought us to the table didn’t make sure the table was ready for service. She stood there looking a bit embarrassed while the young lady bussing the table tried to hurry, but then set the menus down(while she was still cleaning) and left us standing there. Um yeah not ok! Thankfully we had a rockin’ server that made the overall experience awesome.

Food: 6⁄10 Service: 9⁄10 Value: 7⁄10 Ambience: 5⁄10(Super loud but nice decors) Came here after church with the lady. The place was well decorated. Bathroom was clean. We were seated in a little tiny table by the wall. All the plates would not fit and had to stack ‘em, which was no bueno. We ordered a routine breakfast with pancakes and chicken fried steak. Food was mediocre. My girlfriend said she preferred my bacon. ^.^(srs) The place was packed but the service was excellent. Not a bad place to dine in my book.

So upon waking in we were put on a wait list but it was not your normal wait list– they text you to tell You you’ve been added and where you are in line and when your table is ready. It’s was kind of cool. The menu is huge and overwhelming but the food was pretty good. I stuck to the basics of a pancake, eggs and turkey bacon but my friends orders omelettes and they were very happy with. Maybe next time i will be more adventurous and try something new so I can update my review.

Never been to Dallas or Texas in general but I gotta say, I’m really feeling both of these after my experience at OldWest. Not only was the food fantastic but the service and the décor was great too! I was impressed by the quick seating time and even more so by the amazing wood booths and tables. What can I say, I’m a sucker for woodwork… For our meal we order the Cattle Baron with 2 eggs poached with biscuit as my TWO sides plus a Papi’s full portion(2 eggs and 2 fried corn tortillas) w/refried beans and fried potatoes as a side. Some lovely Sweet tea to feel a bit of home and they do it better here than most places in Tallahassee so kudos on that too OldWest. We had fantastic service with one server and the equivalent of a bar back, who provided friendly helpful attentive and quick service. It felt like a Very Texan experience. The Cattle baron was a delicious take on eggs Benedict(tomato and spinach and bacon) and I highly recommend it. Loved the décor Big portions Affordable I tip my hat to you Old West.

Old West Café really is as good as it gets. We’ve NEVER had a bad meal or experience here. Great staff and service, Huge portions and a terrific Texas atmosphere. There’s a reason it’s a busy place, OWC has earned it! Be sure and get the Chicken Fried Steak, crisp and delicious and the pancakes… WOW!!! Also, at lunchtime be sure and ask them to make you a Chicken Fried Steak sandwich… Awesome!

Hubby Ross and I stopped for breakfast yesterday, around 9:30am and the place was hopping! We were seated by a big group who left shortly after we arrived. The place was really really loud… almost couldn’t hear each other loud, so if you’re looking for a quiet breakfast spot, this is not it. It was also very chilly in there, so much as I had to put my coat back on while I ate, despite having many cups of hot coffee. Coffee was hot and refilled quickly without having to ask. Everyone who had a coffee pot checked every table for refills as they walked by… good teamwork! Ross ordered the City Slicker(omelette with spinach, mushroom, Swiss and Monterrey cheese) with grits and a biscuit as his sides. He added cream gravy($ 0.50) which was outstanding. It was velvety smooth and had the perfect amount of pepper… I had some, for quality control purposes, of course! I ordered the Coal Miner(2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and 1 blueberry pancake). Eggs were soft scrambled, cooked ok, but were room temperature to almost cold. Not sure if the chilly ambient temperature of the dining area was to blame or not. Bacon was crispy, not brittle but the sausage was almost overcooked, as both of the patties were very dry, I don’t think I have ever realized you could overlook sausage patties, but this confirms that you can indeed. The biggest disappointment of all was the blueberry pancake. It was huge and served with these two tiny little butter packets, about one teaspoon in each. A pancake this size demands more butter… more more more. The biggest bummer of all was the blueberry count. Three fresh, plump and juicy berries crowned the pancakes; however, the pancake itself only had five blueberries total! Five blueberries in a pancake that was about 10″ in diameter just wasn’t enough. On a very high note, our server Hunter was fantastic! He was quick, polite, professional and had an engaging personality. He remembered something we mentioned when we first arrived and commented on it again as we were leaving. His level of service really made us feel like welcome guests! Thanks Hunter! Overall, my opinion was«meh» based purely on the atmosphere(cold and loud) and my food, but Ross enjoyed his selections much more, so we opted for three stars. We will consider OWC again if we are in the area, but I doubt we’d make a special effort if not.

Great food and HUGE portions for breakfast. One pancake will feed 2 – 3 kids. I’ve had nearly everything on the menu now and nothing bad yet. Servers are uniformly friendly. One negative is that if you want breakfast get here early, it’s always crowded by 8 – 9 am and you’ll be waiting in line, that is if you find a parking space!

Always great food and friendly service. Home cooking at its best. There are plenty of choices to try. Meatloaf, chicken fried steak, burgers, vegetables. All are tasty and fresh. Give them a try. NOTOPEN at night so check before you go.

Yeehaw. This place is super Texas-y. There’s all kinds of pro-Texas paraphernalia and«God bless us» and western wear and cows and crosses on the walls. Not exactly my style, but entertaining nonetheless. Old West Café does breakfast Texas style — BIG. I mean these portions are almost silly. I saw some ridiculously large pancakes, humongous plates filled with French toast and hash browns, biscuits and gravy, so much bacon… It’s not exactly the most gluten free environment, but I ordered a side of bacon and eggs over medium and I didn’t have any negative side effects. Go ahead and double check though that they’re cooking your food on clean griddles/pans if you have a food allergy. This location gets PACKED between 9 – 12 on most mornings, especially on Fridays and the weekends. If you have a big party you better expect to wait awhile. There were constantly people in and out and it took our party of 4 at 10AM on a Friday morning about 25 minutes to get a table. Service was fine — extremely fast, I think they want you in and out so they can seat the next party! Very friendly though and the prices are decent. Probably a little more than what you’d pay for at an ihop, but better quality for sure. :)

YEEHAWYALL As soon as you walk into this place, you practically feel like you’re sitting at the campfire hanging out with the dudes from Lonesome Dove, and drinking out of one of those little tin cups… and I mean that in the best way possible. This place is quick, clean, efficient and the staff is friendly. There is always a wait time, because it is THAT good, but we didn’t wait anywhere close to the twenty minutes we were quoted. We had plenty of room to sit and chat while we waited, and we’re even offered coffee to tide us over. We sat down at our table about 10 minutes later. We were quickly waited on, got our coffee refills from our cute little waitress, and she promptly took our order. Two cool things about this place. 1.) You can order anything a la carte. 2.) They place everything that you order on a i-phone or touch of some sort, rather than writing it down and then placing it into a computer. It really seems to make things move faster! I ordered two sides of the cinnamon batter french toast, three pieces of bacon and sliced bananas, and hot syrup(the waitress didn’t even roll her eyes at this part… YAY) The food was delicious as always! The only problem I ever have here is figuring out what Old West delicacy I will try on that days visit. Another thing I love about this place is that its so busy, so loud, so hopping that I can take my kids and no one will notice if they’ve spilled chocolate milk or are running around with their underwear on top of their head. Its totally appropriate for families. So that’s always a plus in my book! Go! Try it! Tell Gus and Call I said hello…

First time I was here, AMAZING experience. Second time I was here, not so great. So I have mixed emotions about this place. The first time around, the service was quick and the food was heaping hot and fresh. I had the pork chops which were juicy and tender, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. I got the half order, and it was still a lot for me to finish! You definitely get Texas-sized portions here, so come with an empty stomach haha. The second time, however, was a completely different story. We ordered and waited for nearly 20 – 25 minutes for our food(absurd really), and the food came out cold in parts, not surprising. I had the 6 shooter… DONOTGET! There were two biscuits, chicken fried steak, 2 eggs on top, and smothered with gravy. Sounds good right? Yeah, I thought so too. They literally SMOTHERED the entire plate with gravy, which in turn made the chicken fried steak and biscuits super soggy by the time I ate them. My friend got eggs benedict as well(except with sausage), and her sausage came out cold and tough. She told the waitress, and they were super nice about the situation and offered her another dish, which they then comped her for. So that was nice on their part! I gave them an extra star for outstanding service. Final judgement: Come here for their great service, but expect to stay longer than expected on certain days and times. Some food items are GREAT, others not so much. So ask around and see what they recommend. Happy eating!

Oh me oh my, this place. Another Unilocal-inspired visit to a restaurant with raving reviews — and didn’t disappoint! Upon first arrival, the parking lot was nearly full. And I mean, it was darn near 7−8am…Mostly Sunday brunchers and, heck, breakfasters are still in bed. Luckily, though it was already hopping, there wasn’t a wait. Their menu is huge, a biscuits & gravy section, a French toast section, a «south of the border» themed section, and a skillets section. We already knew before ordering we’d be coming back. I got the the Bandit, an open faced biscuits & gravy meal and my boyfriend got a French toast plate. They did everything right… Eggs perfect, meat just right, killer potatoes… but for me the sausage gravy wins. It was perfectly flavored, peppery, and the right amount of savory. We were dipping our home fries in it by the end of the meal. Good to the last bite! We are going back and for sure we are going early! It’s a must must must try!

I was in the mid-cities area finishing up a meeting right around lunch time. I had been wanting to try Oldwest Café for longest time and today was the perfect opportunity. I arrived at 1:30 so their big lunch crowd was already gone. I made it «under the wire» since they close at 2:00. I checked out the extensive menu and decided on the ½ order of meatloaf accompanied with sweet potato casserole and green beans. The plate also came with Texas toast. When my luncheon platter arrive, I was sure glad I didn’t order the regular sized portion of the meat loaf, I wouldn’t have been able to eat it. The meatloaf and my two sides were delicious and service was«Texas friendly» and prompt. The décor is all Texas hence the name«Oldwest Café». I can’t wait to come back again soon but for breakfast. I have heard their breakfasts are legendary.
