Where do I begin… First off for the price you think you would get free bread. I ordered the 14 oz NY with lobster, the steak had no seasoning at all, not even salt, I’ve had better steaks at applebees. The garlic mashed potatoes also had no salt and tasted like old garlic powder and the lobster was small and undercooked. I got the additional Caesar salad and the croutons were stale and soggy. My gf got the seafood mac n cheese that had small salad shrimp and everyo, e knows that’s the worst, the scallops in it were also undercooked. The only good thing was the dipping sauce with the crab cakes, which also has no seasoning. Overall the only thing that was good was the soda, even the waitresses were less than avg, they wore skimpy clothes hoping for a big tip which didn’t happen. Will never go there again, would rather go to Applebees.

Wow I’ve been searching for a great steak house, I found it. I took my Son out for his birthday and he loves steak. He had the rib eye and said it was delicious. I had the Jack hamburger with fries. I always get well done which often takes the moistness out. It was so juicy and huge. I had to smush down to get my mouth over it and the fries are the best I’ve ever had. Our server was Morgan, he was attentive, polite and accommodating. Definitely returning. Thank you For the awesome food and service.

On Oct. 3rd, 17 of my Family Members came here for my Dad’s 70th Birthday Dinner! It was delicious! Chris was our waiter, he was very patient & funny, as we had many questions! Most of us were first timers! I admit, I’ve never paid $ 30 for a Steak Dinner before but it was cooked to perfection & oh so tender! The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were divine! As there were so many of us, we all sampled each other’s dishes. My Mom’s rack of Ribs, 2 thumbs up!(My Aunty said her Lobster & Steak was so good, she went back for it one week later!) The Calamari was a group fave & my 2 yr old nieces freshly made, super cheesy, Mac & Cheese, ridiculously tasty! I went back a couple nights ago, the ambiance in the lounge was great & short round chairs, super comfy! Ava was so friendly & engaging! She was very busy but we wanted for nothing! The next thing I want to try is the Schnitzel! It sounds so good! Our Family has found our new, Favorite place!

So I’ve been here a couple of times in the past and thought it was pretty good. This last time all the reviews came true. Ordered a martini and it was like warm. How is that possible? Just washed the shaker? No ice? Got past it and ordered the filet medium. My girlfriend ordered medium rare and when the steaks came out hers was medium and mine was rare. Seriously cool in the middle, actually colder than the martini. Hmmm. Bewildered I sent it back. I had eaten a few bites from the cooked edge but when I took a bite from the raw part it did me in for the rest. My server offered to buy my martini. I suggested she take care of the raw steak. Nope I’d eaten too much. If I owned this place I’d literally fire everyone and start over. Being a customer I thought I was on punked. Eaten too much? It took three bites to get to the raw part, that’s on me? Whatever. I don’t have a suggestion on where else to go but wouldn’t do this place again.

God awful. Hire a cook that can actually cook, will ya’? The service is so damn slow. Like, I had no idea where our sever went half the time. Did she go home? Is she taking a shit? Who knows?!

SAVEYOURMONEYANDGOTOHERBSPLACE. So we decided to try this place today. We spent $ 90 We had Calamari appetizers — fried well, but to salty Pear gorgonzola steak salad-no pear and hardly any gorgonzola New York strip– cooked correctly, steak had no flavor French onion soup-texas toast on the soup, but good flavor on the soup. Champignon schnitzel– fried correctly, mushrooms sauce not good flavor. All in all the cooking methods were done correctly but there was just no flavor except salty. Service was fair, just not worth the amount of money. Outback tastes better. Next time will go to Herbs place.

There are few times when a meal has cost so much and been so terrible. For being a steakhouse you would think they would know how to cook a steak. The first bad experience I had there, I actually had the owner come to the table. No discount was offered or any apology made for first terribly over cooking my very expensive filet mignon, and then serving what can only be described as grissle the second time. I have worked in the restaurant industry and really didn’t want to be a nuisance but knew that there was something really wrong. His response was«a filet is a filet, is a filet». After two years we decided to try again. This time it was for my daughters graduation party. Two steaks came out over done and when we sent them back, came back blue rare. Literally cold in the middle with the bacon raw that was wrapped around the meat. Again no offer of compensation or discount for our party. The bill was over $ 300.00. There is a reason that the parking lot is empty on a Saturday night in a town full of high school graduation parties. Save yourself the trouble and drive out to Herb Nieman’s Steakhouse in Everson. The drive is prettier and you are guaranteed a fantastically cooked steak everytime. And the management even cares about your experience.

First time and last time. $ 7.00 for frozen Costco French Onion Soup $ 11.00 for pre-frozen hamburger patty on cheeseburger. $ 4.50 for 12oz. draft beer. My dinner came to $ 29.00 for pre-frozen meal. If you want a burger and beer. I highly recommend going to Bob’s Burgers and Brew. I posted this same review on the Black Forrest fb page and was verbally abused shortly after by waitress by the name of Nelly. I replied to her abusive rant and she quickly deleted her statement. I quickly reminded her that she was the one that inquired about my meal. I didn’t volunteer my opinion. This place won’t be around much longer. I hope your experience was better than mine.

I am a steak snob and when we went here, I wasn’t expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised. Had the ribeye and it was delicious! I prefer the old dark traditional type steakhouses– this isn’t that. But the food is worth the five stars. At most steak places when you ask for medium you get well done, but they cooked the ribeye perfectly. We definitely will return!

We went on a slow Monday night in January and the service was excellent. The food however was very so-so. My wife and I both had a 14 oz New York. First, they brought out Texas toast… I did not know they made Texas toast in a bland flavor. It looked great but had very little flavor. Caesar salad was ok. Steak was bland also and my wife had to keep picking gristle out of her steak. We had a bread pudding with caramel sauce and a apple strudel for dessert. Bread pudding was good but the apple strudel lacked flavor. Everything looked great but was definitely not up to snuff flavor wise. We won’t be going back.

Second time in Black Forest. The first time I had good food and great service. This time? Wow. In all my 50+ years of life, I have only walked out of two restaurants for lack of service, and tonight was one of them at Black Forest. Why? Well, in my opinion it was because of my Chinese wife and stepson, it seemed completely racist. If you are of color, avoid this place!!! And if you are the owner of Black Forest and you read this, you need to train your employees much better! It won’t matter to me because I will NEVER step foot into your establishment again, and I will be sure my friends do the same. Good luck Black Forest. See you at your auction when you close.

Great restaurant past… But just experienced a very rude interaction with a very unprofessional employee identifying himself as Jeffery… Kind of ruins the possibility of a future visit…

Nothing special about this place. I had the Schnitzel Oscar. It was breaded with panko and deep fried? Not very authentic to say the least. It had no flavor, the bearnaise sauce was bland and crab was either canned or frozen… not impressed at all. My husband had the Mixed Bavarian Platter. It included one Bratwurst, half of a schnitzel and a pork chop that looked like a thin piece of rubbery ham. The Chicken Wings and Calamari appetizers were standard frozen fare.

The Black Forest is one of our favorite places! We love getting to go out to dinner, and when we do, this is one of our favorite places! We love the ostrich covered booths, the atmosphere and the bar is really fun. I always order the 8 oz. Filet Mignon, baked potato and Caesar salad and every time, it is perfect! I LOVE their Peach Bellini — seriously the BEST I have ever tasted! My boyfriend orders the Top Shelf Black Opal is you can’t find one anywhere that is better! This is our first choice for«date night» and love coming here! We also love the coupons in the mail!

We came during happy hour and got more than we expected. Prices were decent and food good.(I enjoyed appetizer scallops, my wife had barley soup, and our guests had crabcakes.) The best part was that we picked a very crowded weekend in Bellingham(graduations and World Cup), but since this restaurant is on the east side of the 5, away from downtown, there was room here to relax.

Nummy. This place deserves better reviews. It’s one of the only steak places in Bellingham that the main course actually comes with a salad and bread, which is a nice touch when you’re spending so much on a steak… You deserve to feel like you get that 8 dollar salad for free: P Pros? Very well aged steaks Cooked exactly to your order Service is friendly and efficient Drinks are reasonably priced Cons? The bar atmosphere definitely gets to hoppin so a potentially good conversation with a friend can be tough to hear

Ha a nice dinner with my husband here one night. It was pretty good, a little overpriced considering that some of the food had that«out of the bag» quality to it(the house salad was just chopped iceberg lettuce and little else). The staff were nice, my steak was pretty good, my husband ordered the ribs and said they were a bit overly seasoned for his tastes. Still, there seems to be some love put into the food, and any failings were not significant enough to ruin the overall experience. We left happy, and do plan on giving it a try again sometime. Note for Disabled: Reasonably accessible, has its own parking lot.

Had never been in the dining room before last night… it was nice, clean and had a great atmosphere. Our waiter was a darling and very attentive, but not overly. The steak was fabulous… but the prawns tasted like a salt lick. I could only eat two of them, so that was disappointing, as I could have saved $$ and just ordered the steak. I think if we feel the urge for some well cooked red meat, we will take the drive to the steak house in Everson.
