We dined on the best Indian food we’ve had in WA … will be a FAV in Bellingham for sure. Started with the Golgapa(7pcs) followed by the Sampler Plate, Chicken Curry & Kadai Paneer, with the Garlic Naan & Basmati Rice of course! Cap it all off with Gulab Jamun & Dhoda … whew … Indian food doesn’t get any better than this.

Fantastic! Bellingham needed a delicious Indian food restaurant and now it does. My wife and I split the butter chicken, channa masala, garlic naan, and samosa. We loved every bit of it. The service was excellent as well – attentive and friendly. Great place, I highly recommend it!

I ordered the butter chicken for delivery and it was delicious! I would have given it five stars based on taste. Unfortunately, upon delivery time I discovered my order was missing rice(a pretty crucial component to this dish IMO). I am not sure if it was forgotten or if it did not come with the meal, and when I called the store to ask it had already closed. The takeout menu certainly did not specify that rice was not included and it was incredibly disappointing, so it changed the whole experience.

A-ok. Not amazing or even very good. But good. As others have mentioned, they specialize in chaat, Indian street food. But they also have some other classic North Indian dishes like Chana masala and butter chicken. Very good value at this place.

Great food & service! Our table asked for recommendations and we weren’t disappointed! We ordered Samosa Chaat which was spicy, sweet & delicious! We could of had a meal of just them. For our entrees we ordered the Butter chicken which we had to try since everyone talked about it on Unilocal. The chicken was chunks of moist white meat and the sauce tasty. Also, we ordered the Goat Meat Curry and again it was delicious. Our vegetarian at the table ordered Channa Masasla which she was excited to have leftovers for the next day. We were guided to just order 2 orders of rice & of the garlic naan we wanted instead of the 4 we were going to get. Good recommendation, we ended up taking some of each home. The last meal ordered at the table was the Amritsari Fish Pakora. And all were glad we tried that too! Our server was great too! We all will go back again!

My wife and I ate lunch here yesterday. We don’t know that much about Indian food, but enjoy learning about different cuisines. To echo others, the place is spotless, the staff is very friendly and willing to explain as needed(they showed us «goat pickle», for instance, when we asked about it, told us how to use it, and described the desserts we pointed at very thoroughly). We ordered a goat curry bowl, a chicken curry bowl, alloo parantha(described as wheat bread stuffed with spicy potatoes, although it also contained peas) and raita, a spicy yogurt sauce to dip the bread into. I thought the goat curry very good, with large chunks of meat cooked to the break-down and tender stage, with only three small bones. My wife enjoyed her chicken curry, which was hotter than the goat(she ordered medium, I didn’t specify), but especially the bread/dip combination. The curries came with so much rice that we brought about half of it home. We will definitely return, and live close enough that this will be on our list of places from which to order takeout. Interestingly enough, one can buy insurance while eating here. The entrance to Singh Insurance Agency is inside the restaurant. How about that!

Great authentic Punjabi style Indian food! Stopped here on my way to BC. Going to start making it a tradition to stop at this place anytime I pass by. Both dishes me and my girlfriend ordered were delicious and the staff welcomes you like family and is happy to answer any questions you might have about any of the menu items.

I absolutely love Indian and Pakistani food. My wife and I try it everywhere we go, literally, every state and country we go to. Bellingham is a little light on ethnic foods from what we have found in two years of going there, but Punjabi was a nice find, and surprise! I didn’t find it on Unilocal,it was by accident. Anyway, the biriyani is pretty awesome, a bit spicy from what I am used to, but it’s legit. I like that it’s flavorful, but not full of nuts and crunchy veggies, but that’s me. The butter chicken is even better, and sure, its hard to screw up butter chicken, but you will need to order rice on the side, unless you go for lunch and they include rice then. Others made note of the naan, and while it wasn’t bad, it certainly was more like what I do at home in the oven than what you find at places that have a tandoor. It didn’t taste store bought by any means, just that it was flatter than most. Last thing is all the sweets, no other Indian place we have ever been too offers so many different sweets. They have a whole case of interesting desserts.

I went with my friends and this place has high prices for the amount of food and Quality ! It tasted like the food has been frozen and re heated, my foot was just warm not hot, it wasn’t spicy like I asked and when I asked for spice I just got some sweet hot sauce rather than some real Indian spices. The menus are paper and they are put under the glass table so it’s hard to read. I wouldent go there again, not for the price I paid and the type of food I got.

A friend and I went to Punjabi Junction for dinner a couple days ago after reading good reviews. Initial impression was how impeccably clean the restaurant is. It’s clear that they take cleanliness and presentation seriously. I had the Lachedaar Naan, a Paneer sauce for the bread, and Sweet Lassi. It tasted so good I decided to try their Chaat Papdi. The menu described it as «Indian style nachos.» It was pretty far from nachos, but delicious none the less. I really liked the sweet lassi yogurt drink because it cools you down well after eating spicy food. The owner or manager came by after we ate and asked how everything was and for any suggestions. Service throughout the meal was attentive and friendly. That kind of dedication to self improvement is always a good sign. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more! ¼/16FOLLOWUP: Went back for more food. It’s still awesome. Go try it!

Stopped by because it was a short walk from my hotel, and the front desk recommended it. Not really knowing what everything was, I just picked 2 items that sounded tasty. I was very happy with my choices! I had: Puri Chole(spicy chickpeas & sweat naan) & Paneer Marsala(cheese cubes in a tomato and ginger sauce). Both were very good, I did prefer the Puri Chole over the masala, though. The service was friendly, and the prices real good. A very good choice for lunch/dinner that is near a few hotels.

Great butter chicken and samosa! Nice selection of sweets. Very clean. The water does taste plastic-like though.

Delicious Indian food at great prices. On a recent thrift store run to Meridian I figured I would find an authentic ethnic food place and I’m SO glad I found Punjabi Junction. I took home an order of the butter chicken, garlic naan, and sampler platter which included HUGE samosas, pakora, & paneer. When I got home, I found there was no rice for the chicken, which was surprising but at only $ 9.99 it’s understandable rice was extra… it just would have been nice to know beforehand so I could have ordered it as a side. This made me have to run to the store and grab some basmati to quickly cook up, but after the first bite it was completely worth the wait. Our order was enough for two of us to have dinner that night and leftovers the next day. Score!

Monday 9-28-2015 My buddy Dan took me here as he said it was a must. I was reluctant when we drove up because when I was growing up in San Antonio Texas, I was told to NEVER eat at a restaurant that had no cars in the parking lot during business hours. Well this place was totally dead — ATLUNCHTIME no less! Scary right? But I went inside anyways since my buddy said it was so good! Dan should know, he has been all over the world including India, so what did I have to lose? This little hideaway is reasonably priced, but the food is off the charts awesome! Even the Presentation of the food is amazing! It’s like eating at a five star restaurant serving Indian Street food! I was impressed with the Butter Chicken, it was very flavorful and rich! The Chicken Biryani was even better, and spicy. My favorite item though was the Samosa, wow — I could have eaten 10 of those things! This place is new, and very small, which gives it a nice homey feeling. Everything was exceptional! _____________________ Tuesday 9-29-2015 ** UPDATE ** The food was so good yesterday that I just had to go back today and get some more after my dentist appointment! To my surprise, all of my bosses were there getting ready to eat … but the big surprise was that Punjabi Junction was closed on Tuesday! The wonderful owner«Dave» opened up the restaurant for my boss, so I got to eat there on a CLOSED day, now how awesome is that?

Words do not do this place justice. Definitely a hidden gem. The staff is warm and welcoming! The waiters take great pride in the authenticity of their food. There are no Americanized substitutions when it comes to preparation. There are, how ever, chicken nuggets and French fries for the younger pallet. If you can’t make up your mind when you search the menu, go with the special. You will not be disappointed.

Great butter chicken, amazing biriyani, and more new menu items on the way. Fun selection of Indian street food if you want to broaden your cultural experience beyond the standard American fare at typical Indian restaurants. I tried the golgappa for the first time, and it was fun to pour liquid into the shells… I thought it would go straight through and be a mess but they held it in like little cups. Fun! I asked the owner about the biriyani and he said it takes them 4 – 5 hours to make it layered the traditional way. I was so impressed with his description I ordered it to go, and when I tried it at home an hour or so later, it was still moist perfect rice and the chicken was so tender! Great find for Bellingham!

Interesting place. I hope they can fill out their offerings and be successful. If you don’t already know everything about chaat, check the menu photos I uploaded and google the dishes first to figure out what you want. The menu is literally just the names of the dishes. The staff is happy to fill you in on the details, but that is kind of time consuming and confusing. Fair warning, if you can’t eat wheat, this is not the place for you. They have a few menu items that probably don’t contain much wheat, but many of the offerings are fried wheat dough of some kind or another. The one dish I could have(Tikki Chat) had interesting flavors that I really enjoyed, though it was a bit salty. The only thing I hated about the place(aside from not having a fully written out menu) is that they served everything with disposable plastic: plates, cups, flatware. Not just to-go orders, dine-in as well. That needs to change or I can’t in good conscience go back.
